True, for what the Disney Parks sabers go for, you'd think they would at least have smooth-swing and infinite colors, but no. You're stuck with one sound font, one color, no smooth-swing, etc... that you can buy from reputable saber companies for about the same amount, than what the Disney sabers cost. (LGT Sabers/Damien Sabers is the manufacture of the Xeno sound boards, including this newer V3 w/ app)
Honestly I'm glad. We have people starting businesses of their own to sell to the fan base and make a great living out of it. Disney would never do it right because it's run by profit margins.
Thanks for taking the time to set up the lighting so that we can see the blade properly. So many saber videos are either shot in the dark so the saber blows out the image or shot in the bright so that the blade looks disappointing and dim.
I just got a V3 today and playing around with it, I found that several blade styles/ignitions are off, so you have to plug it into your PC to change the "config" settings to turn on other effects like "torch mode" or other cool blade effects. That's why you're getting "broken ignition" multiple times. Same thing with the "track", you need to have a sound file in the font that plays music or whatever's named "track" in the files.
They added some new updates that give it more ignition options now. I'm guessing you need to have a Xenopixel v3 Soundboard with audio tracks installed already in order for the the track to to work. Hopefully in the future they'll be a feature to download additional sound fonts along with audio tracks & maybe even more ignitions types & blade color patterns! I can easily see this having all the features of a Golden Harvest in the future!
I just got my V3 core today, and I've had a blast playing with the app, and changing things around. This is going to be a game changer. Especially with all the updates that are coming up
Jon, nice review. I've been on the fence because I like the jade 2...but this makes it easier to use. Question- can you do a video on handling it? Set the counts stuff up, or have someone off camera setting stuff while you you some tip drag- smooth swing, clash on etc? I think I may buy one today. The Bluetooth option is the way to go.

There are over 500 millions android phones. 200 million of them are probably $1k or more. I mean ...thats a no deal for me. And the sofware and the way you explained it makes it way more precise. You showed us that, and now, it makes it almost unforgivable for anyone to see tbis and not get it partially for the software. Factory reset. May have changed it to RGB firmware. When you open the app and connect to the saver, click the bottom right icon, then click on your saber and then look for firmware click that and change it to pixel.
You’re intros on the replica sabers are so dope and high quality. This app would hopefully encourage them to quickly add even more features on the hilt boards. Also do you think they’d be able to add on the fly firmware update for the board through the app in future?
I had ordered my Count Dooku version 3 from Korbanth, even knowing that some installs they do sometimes aren't 100% to the customers' liking. It took over a month to get to me and I was kind of disappointed in the electronics install. The chassis is a bit heavy (making it tiring to duel with), the in hilt connector for it is not mounted, but only held in place by the chassis pushing against it and the chassis connector is 4 brass or copper plates that bend really easily. Since I just ordered the SN-pixel Darksaber from VS, I'll see how its build quality is and maybe if I like it enough, I'll buy from them more.
I hear that a lot about Korbanth installs. I have 1 from Korbanth. Hilt is made great. It’s a kENOBI hilt and I had to add a bunch of rings to the pommel to click the covertech in the right place. Then add a bunch more rings inside the pommel to push the core back up to connect the. Glue the threads so stuff won’t move around. I’m not a fan. You spend $800+ on something like this and it should be 100% perfect. I learned my lesson on custom sabers. I don’t get them any more.
@@TheCollectorsOutpost I just took apart my Count Dooku again and figured out the problem. Along the spine is that claw attached to the long bar that goes from the emitter to the pommel. Mine is held in by 4 socket screws and a set screw(for blade retention). It looks as if the socket screws are different lengths and the longest should have been for the emitter connector, because it has a threaded hole. It looks like it missed by a millimeter and instead glanced off the connector. I have the emitter lined up and the screw is now holding that connector in place. Very annoying.
Just got my Kylo Ren saber with the Xeno V3 and it's so much nicer having the app to really dial in what you want compared to the V2 where you have to keep cycling through all the fonts, blade effects, and volume with just one button and twisting the handle.
Xeno configurator is actually 1000x better than the Electrum Sabercrafts Bluetooth/app. Plus, their Bluetooth does NOT work on ALL phones...... information they left out. My Darksaber w/Xeno3 is AWESOME!! Already one of my favorites in my collection;))
Ciao Jon, I have another one question: how much deep is the blade in the hilt? Do you feel it solid during spin? I have many LGT sabers and sometime the blade assembly in the hilt is not so deep (like on Kylo one).
@@TheCollectorsOutpost ok cuz i see videos of them talking about Xeon3 showing how its almost like the proffie but then sho videos of the Xeonpixel V3 showwing something diff. the reason im asking cuz im very disappointed with the SNV4 Pro. the blaster effect looks like a saber from disney. Melt is in the middle then bing at the tip which in videos i see people saying the Xeon3 you can program it to be in the tip blasters is the full blade like proffie. and setting to colors is way better. SNV4 Pro has no battle mode but Xeon3 do and Xeonpixel v3. its just hard cuz i purchase my sabers off aliexpress cuz i can get it way cheaper. but the name the have is confusing

In other words, once you set your saber to how you want it to be via the app, are those new settings now on the micro SD card? Thank in advance.

Recently bought the LS1 from Padawan Outpost. It came with a xeno v3. noticed we have the same problem with "broken Ignition". It repeats on the app and it also doesn't show the other ignitions like scavenger and hunter ignition.
Yeah I’m hoping the manufacturer of Xeno will fix the coding. I think it’s the Xeno chip it self now and not the app. When I flip through the ignitions on the saber with out the app it’s the same thing. So I thing the Xeno v3 chip will need a firmware update. (I think)
My rgbx base lits dont connect to the xeno app consistently. I have got them to connect and function a couple times but it is really touchy and yes they are all up to date. What gives?
My app doesn’t look like this. I realize the video is a year old but why can’t I adjust the color of the blade or see battery percentage/time remaining? Also does anyone know what it means when it says “more function awaiting”?
Hey, just a question, does the xenopixel v3 saber have motion detection for tip drag and wall melt? I don’t get the tip drag effect when i drag it on the floor. + It’s not that bright and noticeable.
I received a saber that says SD card not installed when I try to turn it on. I was told by the saber store to download this app and it will update the saber but the saber will not connect via Bluetooth when I try to find it with the app. You wouldn't happen to know how to fix this? All the saber does is continually "say" SD card not installed, over and over again. I appreciate the help. The saber people don't seem to want to send me a new one or refund me so I am trying to fix it on my own. Thanks!
Try to restart your phone. That happen to me a couple time but after I reboot it was find. If it still happens connect the seller I’m sure they can help
I want to ask this quite bluntly before I decide to go online and buy one. Does it sound like a cheap crappy Chinese speaker or does it actually sound like a real lightsaber humming in my hand because anyone who tries to record the sound makes it sound like a crappy Chinese speaker with blown out sound.
Only way to know is by getting one. Each one sound different due the the design and resonance of the hilt and placement of the speaker. I have changed out the so called cheap Chinese speakers as you say in a few of them to some higher quality speakers and the improvement on sound quality hasn’t wowed me in any way. A lot of it also comes from the audio processing from the board. I have the same hilt with GHV3x SNv4 and Proffie, same hilt, all sound different from the boards. Up front my least favorite sound quality is Xeno v3. Soooo only way to know, is getting one.
Is there a way to save the volume level? I hate that the volume is at 100% every time you turn on your saber. V3 seems to be extremely loud compared to V2
Not that I know of. But updates should be coming soon. Yeah, agree. Even in my full review on the Dooku saber I said it’s just so loud. Maybe a better quality or bit larger speaker would make that sound better that that volume. I run it at least at 50% because it almost sounds like the speaker is distorting at much more than that volume
How long of a blade does the app support? The max blade length is 144 but my lightsaber doesn’t need all of that. I also don’t know what the numbers are supposed to represent. They don’t seem to match cm or in.
It has accent swings. I’ll be doing a full unboxing review on the Xeno soon as I’m home from vacation. But as of right now, accent swings and app are the big upgrades for Xeno and I believe more are coming that you can load in from the app (I think)

Hi there, do you know if this works for the newer V3 baselit cores? i can get mine to connect to the app but cannot access functions like volume control, font select etc. I know it wouldnt do any of the blade customisation but it wont even switch the hilt on when you press the power on button in the app?

Try to update software. Connect to The app, bottom right corner, click the tab, click on the saber, then you can update the software there right from the app.

What is the difference between the xeno v3 and the sn xeno v4 that I am seeing on the kestis v2 saber? I'm trying to make sure I'm getting the correct electronic selection.
Xenopixel and SNpixel or made by two different companies. The sabers virtually do the same things. Same blade styles, easy to load on fonts. If you put an SN4 kENOBI in my left hand and a Xeno KENOBI in my right hand they would be almost identical.
This is the Xenopixel app. Will only work with Xenopixel. SNPixel v4 has its own app that seems to only work on android phones right now from what I understand.
@@TheCollectorsOutpost I just pulled the trigger on the Kestis V2 with the snpixel core. . . . Thankyou for posting about the app options. Thats what made the big difference between Vaders Sabers and Darkwolf. I've been on the fence between the two for for about 6 weeks now! I can hardly wait!

i can't seem to connect to the app, what is the name of the lightsaber in your bluetooth? Is there a something I need to do to put the saber in bluetooth discovery mode?
Phone Bluetooth on, the saber turned on, open app and connect. If that don’t work contact who you got it from they may be able to dig in the problem more.
I know it adds accent swings, but I read someone else that the v3 also adds end drag/lockup, melt, spins, the ability to omit blade modes/styles that you don't want, and some other stuff similar to Proffie. Is that not the case, or is it that you have to set that stuff in the config file rather than the app for now?
