@@freezeframeplease Gameplay wise. Obviously xenoblade chornicals has a better story, but besides the story the game is pretty lackluster. Xenoblade chronicals x makes up for its bad story with a huge open world to explore and Very good story-driven sidequests. There never feels like there is nothing to do in xenoblade chronicals x, especially when you get a Skell. The open-world alone is enough reason for why xenoblade chronicals x is better than xenoblade chronicals. Unlike in most open worlds like BOTW, xenoblades open world is FILLED with stuff to do. BOTW's open world focuses mostly on exploration and looking at the beautiful places, and a result there isn't much to do in it except fight the same boring enemies over and over. On the other hand xenoblade chronicals x open world has so much stuff to do, with caves and platforming areas to explore. It also has sidequests and many sidecharacters along with unique bosses in each of the games 5 different continents. I just enjoy xenoblade chronicals x so much and I think it is better than Xenoblade Chronicals.
did you know that the only reason they're british is because nintendo of america didnt want to risk translating such a text heavy game because it might not be successful enough to pay back the translation cost, but nintendo of europe was used to translating things endlessly
and you can do it with basically an altered buster sword. Thus why I give him purity striker after the events on mechonis. Yeah I know the default settings on cutscene movies and things like smash give him the Homs Saber/Katana. But no, BUSTER SWORD WITH ONE HAND BITCHES.
@@plzrngesus3923 Rex's screams by endgame get pretty damn acceptable, I'd give it a good 7/10. Ofc, can't live up to Shulk's 11/10, but that's a hard bar, especially with how shit 2's voice direction was.
“Shit, he’s right, uh, fuck..” *stops time* “Gotta think of a comeback..” *fifteen minutes of stopped time pass before it continues* “Hah, confined me? I was just resting there for a while.”
@@someguy4405 I love the implication that Zanza was able to stop time for as long as he wanted, but instead of using it to curb stomp shulk and friends, he just uses it to attempt to think of a good comeback.
12:18 One of my favorite lines in the entire series. When Shulk responds to Alvis's question with such assurance ("That is something, I decided long ago!") and intensity, you can feel the weight of the last 50+ hrs of gameplay all resolving to this one point. Gives me chills every time.
27:45 they literally just confirmed via the necklace been changed to that shape, that Alvis really is in fact the third aegis. don’t to just love it when fan theories are right?! Of course it isn’t the exact shape but the fact that they changed it to a shape similar to the ages crystal kind of leads me to think that they said “yeah ok let’s make this cannon!”
It actually is the same shape, the gold around it just makes it look a bit different, but the dark crimson is the shape of one of the trinity processors
It still makes me cry. This ending. Especially with the whole all life walking hand in hand. Its so wonderful to think if they think if continuing the series. After all we saw shulk again in xenoblade 2.
Eh. Kinda don't want that. I am cool with them trying to show how the worlds are connected, but I feel Shulks story was perfectly as it is with this game
Shigeru Miyamoto i think it would be cool to have a game based in the world created via ending in xenoblade chronicles 1 and also 2 that is set far after the events of both. Both games are perhaps linked too.
oh my god i love how this comment section has people either complaining about the ending or people being obsessed with shulks glasses i think i like the glasses
XC1 Alvis: "In this world, all life will walk towards the future hand in hand." XC3 Alvis: "...Until I fucking kill all of you." EDIT: Just finished Future Redeemed and this is only half-true.
I really liked how they managed to fit Alvis in the plot. They managed to justify his reasons, and tie that to his role as an Aegis and part of the Trinity Processor. We'll surely get see more of Alvis/A in the next game, since it's confirmed that after the events of XC3 Shulk and Rex would also return as they were, and hopefully we will learn something about the true nature of the Conduit.
It doesn’t feel like you get an ending like this often these days - races of former enemies united, everybody happy and hopeful and looking towards their future.
That's because it was made in a time japanese were still hoepfull for their future, now their economy is stagnant , their adults are depressed and they are about to go extinct
To the people who are disappointed that they didn’t use the version of scene from XC2 because of plot holes, this can be explained that this scene is Alvis’s simplified recreation of the event while the one in XC2 is the true story.
Could imply that alvis' memories aren't 100% accurate due to disappearing from his original universe. But its more like a different viewpoint. some will remember details, or lack of, the others did not, including the tone of voice used. Sad that people stop functioning the second an assumption jumps in their head.
its more likely alvis just simplyfying shit for shulk as the op said... Dude was arleady confussed when the term information processing unit was used(or something along those lines), i think shulks brain would just have short circuited if Space elevators etc where involved as well.
Dunban literally carried me through this game because I wanted to use fiora and shulk in the same team, dunban just tanked more than 90% of hits in the game and died less than the others
Well if you aren't doing it already go watch DeeBeeGeek play through it on his channel. We can't erase our memories and play anew but we can enjoy watching somebody else go through it the way we did.
Personal theory: The reason the Birth of the Universe is the XB1 version is because Alvis doesn't recall the war with the Saviorites, or merely decided Shulk wouldn't need to know about anything besides Klaus hitting the button
What I'm more curious about is the "Saviorites". What were they? I think that they were some kind of cult that worshipped the Conduit (or Zohar if want to call it), kind of like how Klaus did, and they believed that the people who had the Conduit weren't capable or worthy of having it. So they tried to take it by force, resulting in the conflict seen in XC2's backstory.
Alvis doesn't sound like the guy who would not know what really happened at that station. He even sounds more wiser than both Pneuma and Malos combined
Alvis is shown to essentially be more powerful than Zanza himself. He says that he is not just "the monado" he is "Monado." As he says this, the three monados are linked. Do also note that the symbol on his back, similarly to fiora's, represents the three monadoes. (similar to the aegises) and the design is also on zanza's new monadoes While Zanza is powerful, Alvis essentially has the strength of all of the monados. He doesn't seem like anyone who wouldn't know about something. Of course, power doesnt equal knowledge, but if he is more powerful than god, which is almost all seeing, he probably knows far more than zanza himself.
I only just now realized that the landmass their looking at in the final shot is the remains of the bionis mostly submerged in the sea like how the titans in XC2 came together to form the new Elysium
XC2 kinda ruined Zanza imo they tried to turn him from a creator that turned violent due to the fear of his own creations forgetting about him to "lol he is klaus evil side, look he literally is cut in half xd"
@@pikachu896 There was nothing to indicate that Zanza was his evil side at all. I more interpreted it as Klaus as an entity was split into two beings that had the exact same mentality at the point the button was pressed. The difference came from Klaus having to witness his actions destroying everything and then having to live with the consequences while Zanza thought the experiment was an incredible success. Then time did the rest. If anything I thought it made Zanza more interesting since we now knew that he could have been a benevolent god but his decisions made him a tyrant.
Man seeing a lot of hate for XC2 here. I mean it’s behind the original and even Torna for me but I don’t fully understand why the hate is so bad. I realize the combat is completely different but I’m kinda glad that all four games have distinct but similar combat identities right now.
Well tbh i might be biased since I truly loved x1 and xcx to death, but something about X2 (and in some degree torna) did not click with me. The dub was either bad or just good (good examples being Nia and Zeke). Outside of Zeke and Jin i did find the whole cast pretty forgettable or at worst annoying. Rex imo was a weak protagonist compared to Shulk. I found the gameplay slow and frustrating like how you can't do regular attacks while walking when you could do it in the two prior games and wasn't really a huge fan of "collecting warrior waifus" . The story didn't feel as grand or anywhere as ambitious as the fist game. Over all it has it good moments, but I honestly found the game too overwhelming for its own good.
Shigeru Miyamoto Hmm I see exactly where you are coming from. Again I love XB1. Probably my favorite game of all time. And I do have some legitimate issues with XB2. Rex is for sure a weak protagonist and the combat gets too overwhelming cause it expects you to be about twelve steps ahead I feel. Only thing I disagree with you on is the auto attack. It certainly is less visually flashy but I never found that it effected gameplay all that much and XB2 is definitely more based around the arts set ups than the previous 2 games cause there are just more combinations of possible arts that can be together. It’s why I don’t think there’s any double attacking in auto attacks. I’ve always felt that complaints on that change were a bit nit picky for the game not having the exact same system when few RPGs stay in the same system over time. Compared to other changes in combat between XBC and XB2 that just feels so minor to me. I dunno I fee Xenoblade 2 is at the very least a good game with some flaws as most games have. Whereas xenoblade 1 is close to if not a masterpiece. So comparing 2 for not achieving the same high as 1 feels unfair to me. My only real point being it’s one thing to not have clicked with XB2. It feels like another to act like the fact that they are linked story wise or even the mention of how it’s odd they didn’t include the Zohar/Conduit in the klaus cutscene has spit on the sacred cow. Xenoblade 2 is far from my favorite of the franchise but it isn’t that bad I don’t think. Being clear I don’t love XB2 myself. I find the gacha system of progression atrocious especially when it comes to some field skills being mandatory for story progression and the only solution being to either grind the one story Blade that has the skill or gacha. Both of which can be a shit ton of extra play time. The story and world progression also feels segmented which may be why it just didn’t feel as grand. Rex is an atrocious main character in most aspects. With only a few highlight moments being actually good with him. I’m not normally one to hop on the “too anime” bandwagon and I think the artstyle is actually fine as I had huge problems with the at times plastic looking XBX, but writing wise a few scenes in the game were downright dumb and Rex being written as a rather generic Shonen protagonist made him somehow less relatable than shulk. Most of if not all of my issues with 2 were solved on torna which is why I place it above it in my personal rankings. The big detriment to torna’s story being that it doesn’t exist standalone compared to 1,2, & x. So if you didn’t like 2 or don’t like the aspects they fixed for torna, you’d have to deal with them to conclude the story anyways. I do think most the issues of 2 though are in comparing it to 1. I fell into that trap with XBX when it came out. I’ve softened on it a lot even if it’s not my favorite. I actually do like how they handled the “sequel” status. It doesn’t truly touch the original story so it doesn’t mess up the ending at all. It tells its own perfectly well contained story. The only connection is the lore which works cause it allows the lore of the series as a whole to exist, something final fantasy and fire emblem suffer with despite going similar approaches. It also allows every subsequent entry to stand as its own thing preventing. Xenoblade from becoming some sort of Kingdom hearts situation. I dunno. I realized I rambled here a bit in my defense and then bashing and then defense again of XB2.
Shigeru Miyamoto I just realized the comments I was referencing were ones you made. Seriously no hard feelings man. I guess the quick of it is, “would it have hurt to slightly edit the scenes to fit what is now established cannon?” I mean equally I don’t think not changing them hurts either but it really doesn’t change much to add the Zohar/Conduit. I do think it would harm the game to have the extended version with extra more humanizing tone to it. But visual changes with the bean stock and conduit probably wouldn’t have made a big difference except to appease lore hounds. Just my opinion though. Sorry for the extra comment after my essay earlier lol.
it was kind of cool to see another xenoblade game but the first ones is better in my opinion because xenoblade 1 takes things more seriously and xenoblade 2 is what happens when you let a bunch of anime nerds develope the game
That Ending Theme that sets in when they show Reyn fishing with Riki, Juju and Sharla....so heartwarming and brings you close to tears of joy, it's just so beautiful
Maybe the future Alvis saw is after the events of 3? "All life" would surely include the people in 2 as well. That or he meant that all life will walk towards each other to throw hands.
I just finished this game and I cried at the end. Such a beautiful journey..... And a perfect ending. I'm so glad I didn't give up. I was so close to selling the game when I couldn't beat Lorithia (what a bitch) but it was all so worth it. Since 1997, my favorite game has been FFVII but I can honestly say it has now been replaced by Xenoblade Chronicles.
The story is unparalleled! Not to mention all the twists and turns. I'm currently playing Future Connected, but to be honest I've been trying not to play it too much because I don't want to say goodbye to the characters :( I'm a dork, I know... No, I won't be playing XC2 or XC2. I've read the spoilers and I'm just going to pretend XC3 doesn't exist. XC is perfect as it is (imo). And I can't get into the anime-style graphics.
@@kyrotv8156the whole series is literally has anime tropes lmao dont see why NOT play them and you played the entirity of xc1. So if you can handle the anime style of 1 you surely can handle the rest of the series
Too imagine this final battle is happening at same time with Rex with Pyra/Mythra and the party in the final battle of XC2 trying to stop Malos with Aion.
Shigeru Miyamoto FF 7 remake is a full game, i had the same opinion as you before i played the game. FF7 remake last longer than the 3cd of ff7, i finished ff7 og atleast 6 times.
„Every living thing has the freedom to choose the path they walk.“ „it’s the will to make a decision“ Fioras and shulks determination just before the third Monado appears always gives me the chills
27:52 this is probably my only complaint with the remake. Back in the original game, Alvis's eyes would glow with a bright blue light as he said "I can see it", like he was having a vision of the future. A small detail sure, but added so much to the scene, like no matter how gruesome the journey and obstacles (hence Xenoblade 3), he saw a future where everyone was to walk together, hand in hand.
Throughout the entire game I couldn't get over the fact how good these characters looked in the remaster. Their models look so damn clean compared to the original on Wii.
I really love this series art design and music choice. I usually never play games twice or more anymore but this series is an exception cause its great. I hope X gets a port next time cause i heard that one while different had some cool stuff in it.
no one is talking about it, but i hope we all agree: Reyn trying to fish with Sharla, Juju, and Riki is pretty wholesome. Wish we had more moments with them.
I want to collaborate with Netflix on adapting the comic book “Superhumans”, which I’m making, once it’s finished. And I’m pretty sure that someone would splice “Zanza the Divine” onto the final battle, for reasons obvious to those who know the main villain.
Here's a fun note: "Beyond the Sky, Where We Used to be." "Where We Used to be" is the name of xenoblade chronicles 2 opening/main theme. Given the context, lore and origins of both games' worlds, this subtly is genius!
"i dont know. it comes from the bottom of my heart. it shows me my enemy. it reveals the future i must change" is a line that i quite like alot from shulk in this particular cutscene.
It would've been cool if for the definitive edition they put Rex's line coming from Zanza like how they did with Shulk's line in Xenoblade 2. Would've been a nice easter egg.
26:15 you all cried from nostalgia when we saw this and remembered the original graphics which were ok and saw this and the music and realized...this is pretty much it for the story
The Beast 34 Zanza’s final forms are vague enough that this shouldn’t be much of an issue. You can’t really tell what it is, especially when a person on a blind run wouldn’t know any context to the image anyway. So I think it’s fine
@@thatamericannarrator8247 Hell, even the official trailers had out of context shots from the biggest twist in the game and I'm absolutely certain no new players were spoiled on that from the trailers. As far as spoiler thumbnails go, this one really isn't that bad
There's so much to learn from this ending. I'm writing an article about this to make people who played or never played this game reflect on the idea of "god".
I didn't watch the final boss because I'm almost to the point in my save file, but now I know I can keep playing after I beat him, rather than not being able to get 100% after I do beat him, and having to start NG+ immediately.
