This debut is absolute FIRE!!!! Every song on the album is EPIC!!! Producer Eden said this song in particular was inspired by the Bollywood sound/beat. And Xikers are already performance BEASTS right out the gate!!! They have so much charisma and energy!!! Check out the song "Xikey" 🔥🔥🔥 and you should do an album listen! I love that Xikers have their own concept and storyline, and the album ties in perfectly with it. It's very cohesive. I read that their name "Xikers" is a combo of "X", as in coordinates on a map and "Hikers" - as in travelers - & their storyline involves them traveling through time & space looking for coordinates (going on a wild journey). I also read that their concept is that they are GOBLINS (look at their "goblin" signature character wearing the ghost-looking white hoodie). The MV Korean title for Tricky House directly translates to 'Goblin House'. So unlike western 'ghosts/spirits' which are associated with the death of a human, in Korean lore they're nature-like spirits, and that's why you see the blue flames throughout the Tricky House MV, since goblins are associated with blue flames in Korean lore. Goblins (in Korean lore) can also transform into different things and take on different forms and so on" : Dokkaebi (Korean: 도깨비) are legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore. Dokkaebi, also known as "Korean goblins", are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. (From Wikipedia). I'm so excited for them! And so proud of Xikers, KQ, Eden/Edenary & Hongjoong! (he was very involved in the writing and production on this debut album) GO, XIKERS!!!!!
As a debut, it's pretty amazing to me. They're such an interesting group of talented little demons/goblins, and I can't wait to see where they go from here! Do check out the albums, it's got a little bit of everything!
I love this so much! I’m still learning the members and have been watching content with Kas. As my Xikers teacher has informed me-their concept is they’re mischievous playful spirits trying to find their home (Kas correct me if I got that wrong lol). And the MV definitely shows their mischievous side haha-messing with the poor man lol. The album is great! I highly recommend 😊 Thank you for reacting 🫶🏼
I LOVE THIS SONG SOOO MUCH!! I’m a raging armycarat and I got into ateez recently and just in time for their london concert, they are absolutely INCREDIBLE. Like INSANE. So when I heard Xikers were going to debut from the same company AND with so much support and trust from the ateez members, I was anticipating a BIG debut and this is it for me!! THEY DID SO AMAZING FOR A DEBUT AND I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE MORE
Would love to see your thoughts about the mini! Even if it’s not a video, maybe just a sentence about each song on a community post? If you guys liked this song I’m sure you’ll like all of the songs on the mini.
They are amazing live performers just like Ateez!! Fans who went to Ateez's tour last october-November 2022 were able to see them perform pre-debut. Tricky House is a predebut song that they also choose to promote along with the other title track called Rockstar
For anyone wondering how to accurately pronounce their name, y'all gotta listen to their track "Xikey" because Minjae, the leader, screams "XIKERS" three times in that song lol It is pronounces with like "psy-kers" but with a "soft s" at the beginning. The same typa soft s you'd have in "whimsical" for example. Also "Minjae" is pronounced "Min-jae" with the "ae" being similar to the sound of "a" you'd have in "apple" because that's literally the closest sound I can think of. It's easier for myself as a German because we have "Umlaute" (ä, ü, ö) and the "ä" is that exact sound you need to pronounce the "ae" in his name. Also, in case yall interested, below is a list of how to pronounce the other members names. I'd just like to say beforehand that I am not Korean, I don't speak Korean, I just practice often to pronounce the members names of groups accurately by listening to how Koreans say it. But anything a Korean says about pronouncing the Xikers' boys' names obviously comes before anything you're about to read ❤ Junmin: Jun-min A similar "Jun" as in the month "June" but try to shorten the "u" in it and add the "min" as in "minute". Jun-Min Sumin: Su-min Instead of going for a "su" as in "sun" you'd go for the sound as in "sewer" and add the same "min" as in "minute" from Junmin's name. Su-Min. Jinsik: Jin-Sik I think most of yall already have the basic idea how to pronounce "Jin" from countless other celebrities and idols like BTS' Jin for example. Keep that and add the word "sick" to it. But we replace the "s" in "sick" with the "sh" from words like "shopping. So you'd have "sh-ick". Jin-Sik. Hyunwoo- Hyun-woo It's a bit tricky for this one. We'll take the shortened version of the petname "honey" for this. "Hun". Now we add the "y" into it- "Hyun". You should end up with something sounding like "Hy-a-n". That's correct. Now for the second part of his name. In South Korea the "w" in a name like Hyunwoo is silent. Same in the name Wooyoung from Ateez. So, if we take away the "w" we're left with "oo" which is pronounced as a long "u", like someone spilling the tea and you're like "uuuuuuh DAMN". But not as long. A sweet, shortened version of it And then we have "Hyunwoo". Hyun-Woo. Junghoon: Jung-Hoon Also a bit tricky. We don't pronounce the "Jung" as "Jang". But right now I'm at a loss of how to explain this tbh. Sorry about that. But we pronounce the "oo" in "Hoon" the same way as we pronounced it in Hyunwoo's name. No silent letters this time. So we end up with "Jung" and "Hoon". Jung-Hoon. Seeun: See-Un Unlike what many people might think at first, the "See" in his name is not pronounced like the English word "see". Drop the second "e" and you'll end up with "Se". Now take the "oo" sound we got from Hyunwoo's and Junghoon's name and set every impulse you have to pronounce the "Un" like the word "unbelievable" on fire and instead pronounce the "Un" with the "oo" sound. Then we have Seeun. See-Un. Yujun: Yu-Jun The "Yu" is essentially pronounced as "you" and we have the same "Jun" like in Junmin's name. Yu-Jun. Hunter. We all know this one. But I think Koreans would pronounce it like "Hun-tah" but don't nail me on that. Yechan: Ye-Chan. Take the word "at". Erase the "t". Add an "y" before it and you have "Ye". Now, don't think of pronouncing the "chan" like in "channel". Instead take the word "undone", drop the "done" and you're left with "un". Now add the "ch" to the front and you have "chan". Ye-Chan.
Loved this reaction sm! Xikers my favroite group, and this song is my most favorite i can't get tired of listening to it over a thousand times already- 😂
Their real talent is live performance, so you will understand this debut better after watching that. KQ and ATEEZ really outdid themselves creating a platform who can debut a new group at this level. To clarify a bit: they are traditional korean goblins, Tricky House referring to the "Goblin House", which is why they are represented by will-o-wisp fire points, and everywhere they appear things go chaotic with their energy. Overall super cool and impressive execution of this song with the MV, we have had this song for months now, but this really brought the whole thing home in a new way.
They are doing just like ATEEZ did when they debuted and doing TWO title tracks. Rockstar is the 2nd title track, so I would imagine that an MV for that song will be out soon 😁
I’m hypothesizing, but I think the story of the members of Xikers, are based on Korean mythology of Goblins, or tricksters, (note at certain points they turn into spirits) that cause chaos? 🤷🏻♀️
If you haven't react to D.N.A (Dragons never afraid) Cypher by Lay Zhang ft. Danko, GALI, Victor Ma, Shan Yichun, Wang Ziyi and Vinida, you should definitely do it 😍 it's so lit, 💯 a masterpiece 🔥 🔥 🔥 😉
