I just hope this guy doesn't make the same mistake a third time. I mean ultimately it's his own fault if he was given a second chance and wasted it; I know a lot of people like that and they usually don't ever learn. Hopefully he's different. Also, I get that it was weed and not heroin or fentanyl or something like that, but that's not really the point: the money is still funding people are some of the most awful people on the planet. We know what cartels and gangs do, and they destroy entire cities and countries from their activities. So there still needs to be some punishment dished out. We punish people for distribution of other 'material' as well because of who it funds and supports. Legalizing this stuff is typically not an option as well (apart from weed), unless you think the fentanyl crisis has been good for us.
