you probably have figured it out by now, but i just did this swap and i was having the same kind of idling problem, idles high and when i give it throttle it would drop and start surging up and down. the problem was i had the MAP sensor and TPS sensor swapped around on accident, they look the exact same so it is an easy mistake to make for anyone having the same problem
*_Looking into this add well! Want to get a 3 point strut bar, but not sure if it will fit with the Y7 intake since it goes up and beds. Meanwhile the Y8 is just like flat. I'll try to attempt the install and if not I'll have to do the Y8 intake conversation 🥹_*
Hello. If i have a Y8 automatic intake manifold to swap on my Y7 automatic, should i have to put the Y7 throttle body or i can use de Y8 throttle body because both are AT? Thanks!!
Good inlet manifold swap dude! Should hear the vtec very well and it probably gave you an extra 10-15bhp with the inlet conversion! I have done a z6 inlet conversion on my civic ep2 before (similar to the em2 but it's a hatchback!). Although, I had to cut out the z6 plates and weld on the d16v1 plates to fit onto my engine and use the d16v1 throttle body! Got more plans for the ep2 too; do you have anymore plans for the ej9?
I just put a d15b duel vtec motor in my hatchback ek and it wont start withecu they gave me but it starts with stock non vtec ecu but sounds like shit runs terrible...ecu I got with motor is out of automatic so is motor..my car is 5 speed will 5 speed ecu fix this or can I rig the ecu i have
Did u solve your idle issue having same problem I'm trying to figure it out even bought new map sensor an throttle sensor still bouncing between 15k an 25k rmp
Oh ok i didnt know but yea its better just to do a mini me u know with the harness an ecu i understand.. but i like your videos you doing a job with the cars.. i cant wait to see the end result on the em1 an the hatch..
May I asked you a question please. What type of manifold gasket did you use? Since you have a different intake. D16y7 is different than d16y8. I tried before and none of them made a good sealing.
Ima having a problem after doing the y8 swap the car keep reving up and down it’s not the iac it’s new thinking maybe one them coolant lines got flipped or I just put in wrong spot
96 97 98 auto doesn't have iacv so you won't have to plug anything off and doesn't have air injection holes above fuel injectors with multiple holes to cap off like 99 2000 auto
No all he did was swap the intake manifold for better air flow, the d16y7 motor does not have a vtec solenoid if anything this swap would give you a few more horse power the y8 manifold is the best d series manifold
Islam Mega I don’t know about this guy but I would do this mod just because the standard Y7 filter housing makes contact with my hood and vibrates like crazy and annoys the shit out of me, plus the angle on the Y8 is mandatory if you ever want to turbo it
