Great concept, as we all know things don't always go as planned. Best showing the actual video then the edit version. Really enjoy your channel.

I like the new format, I think viewers learn more as you narrate. We can see the turns and kind of see the torque applied. Sure wish I had the newer 250's. I hate my oil filter location on 2007 3.3.

My Grady is a 2021 Adventure 208 with a 200HP Yamaha. I cringed looking at the bottom of that boat! It's 21' for crying out loud. Can't believe they don't trailer it if they're not using it!! Awesome video BTW! Thanks for the walk though and narration. When my warranty expires in a few years, I'm hoping to do my own periodic maintenance to save money. Just finished by 100 hour a few weeks ago before the season here in San Diego starts, and it cost me $850.

Question: You’re sucking oil out of the dipstick pipe. Does that pipe go all the way down to the oil pan (don’t know the exact term for this in English) bottom? And is that with all bigger outboards? I use a hose with a pipe mounted to reach the lowest part and get as much out as possible.

Surprised you didn’t inspect the prop hub. I changed my gear lube last night and one of the rubber deals fell off of my drive sleeve. I had a back up, but am assuming I could use this one if I spin my new one out . What do you think ?

I agree Justin, whatever makes your life easier. I just want to say I really appreciate what you do for the boating community. I expect as I get into different situations with my boat there will be times I go back to look for specific repairs you've done. I guess I've never really noticed but do you list or could you list the problems or repairs you are performing in the titles to make sure it's easy to search on?
@JustinLeeMarine

I do list what I am doing in the description and I appreciate the compliment.

Doing good Justin, some guys are all talk no work. I like to see the work. Tell you what they want to do, and what they will do next, WD-40 = water displacement formula #40 Next you will free your hands with a head mount for the camera.See you at MIBS?

Hey Justin, Thanks for the videos. Super interesting. I’m interested in getting into the industry. I’d love to be as knowledgeable as you someday. Do you have any advice on the best( most time / cost efficient ) way to get into the industry? Are there courses you would recommend or just on the job? Lot of moving parts on these boats. Any advice / insight greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Thank you and it depends on where you live. Florida has lots of programs to get into the field thru local schools. If you don't have that option then the best way is to go to a dealership. They will send you to training for what they work on. Hope that helps.

It’s ok with me-anything that makes your life easier, with less hassles, but gets us more content is ok with me. Sure, I’ll miss the intro and outdo humor, but that’s fine. Just include an occasional shot of Oscar once a month.
@JustinLeeMarine

justin, I found the impeller kit on amazon--Replace 61A-W0078-A2-00. Is this not the right one?
@JustinLeeMarine

I think that is for the 3.3 Yamaha engines. If you have the Model number you can call the clearwater marina and ask Doug. He will get you the correct part number for any engine.

What type of oil extractor are you using? No tube dow the dipstick
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine 2 года назад
We just use a reverso pump attached to a 5/8 hose and a spark plug boot to go over the dipstick tube. Works well and it's fast.

100hrs a year really the norm down there? I’d figure it would be a lot higher. I do about 200hrs a year up in the north shore of ma with about a 6 month season.
@JustinLeeMarine
@JustinLeeMarine Год назад
100 hours is actually high for most people down here unless they are always fishing. I deal with a lot of pleasure type boats and a lot of people are also snow birds. 😊
@andrewkelly9275
@andrewkelly9275 Год назад
@@JustinLeeMarine wow I’m surprised but then again some of the pleasure boaters up here on the boats I work on are only doing somewhere under 50hrs a year.

Editing will suck the soul out of anyone trying to make decent videos. Take as many shortcuts as you can find. In my opinion, you don't need professional quality equipment, editing, lighting or any other of that stuff I see YT content makers purchasing to, hopefully, increase the number of YT metrics necessary to satisfy whatever YT is looking for this week. Most YT watchers are easily pleased. The ones that are looking for professional quality video have never tried to produce anything. Just forget about them. They make a lot of noise but produce few YT metrics.
