That's my next addition to the home theater. When I retire the Denon AVR-4810CI, which I still really love, it's going to be the Yamaha Aventage CX A5100 preamp and the matching MX5000 amp. Never owned a Yamaha before but have fell in love with them from seeing and hearing them at Magnolia Theater in Best Buy. I put the sound right up there with McIntosh, but much more affordable.
Does this (or does any Yamaha pre amp) allow user selectable outputs from any input? What I mean is I want to select only the front L/R channel outputs and subwoofer output when listening to music. I want to enable the center and surrounds when watching Dolby encoded movies. I have music CDs and movies in the same DVD player, so I need to be able to control the outputs / processing. Or if the unit does this by default, that is acceptable. I saw the stereo / movie button on the remote and thought this might be possible. Thanks.
