Dude! We've talked before! Love your DIY videos! You're a cool individual. The FZ6R is very seldom talked about. And almost forgotten. My bike will stay with me for a while! The PC6 is out and I'm getting ready to get it and a two Bros slip on. I've gotten more compliments on the bike and even more..."What kind of bike is that?" Lovin' it! Thanks for all your vids man! For a hundred bucks I'm going to have Yamaha put my Vortex sprockets and the D.I.D gold chain on.

@@HalfClickUp I tell you, I wish Yamaha would do like the auto manufacturers do, with certain hot seller vehicles they wait about 5 or 10 years and then re-release it in an updated version! I love my fz6r. Paid 400 bucks for it at work. It was a wreck and since I've owned it over a year and a half, I've spent that time tearing it completely down and replacing every marred banged up and scratched piece of plastic metal and cover on the entire bike. Thanks to your tutorials, it now has TST flush mount turn signals, woodcraft clip-ons, amongst other upgraded items, like a 10,000 lumen LED front headlight bulb and rear turn signals with integrated brake lights. Motodynamics integrated tail light is next on the list. Would love to meet up sometime for a weekend ride when it's all done

WARNING! Late (just saw this video), but, that connecting link is DID FJ, its (ONLY) a clip style, not meant to be riveted. Rivet type is DID ZJ (hollow pins) and is optional for DID 520 VX3 chain - must buy separately. Some Chain manufacturers do have solid pins for links (to be riveted), but not DID. I hope you had no problems with this while riding, but for the future, please use ZJ link if you want rivet style masterlink (highly recommended).
@HalfClickUp
@HalfClickUp 9 месяцев назад
Noted.. but to answer your question, no I haven’t had issues with the master link. Three track days and several months of occasional commuting without incident. The pins are flared to the same diameter as the chain’s factory-staked pins. Also, the Motion Pro PBR tool’s staking block features a surface for both solid and hollow pins.
@Vedran.
@Vedran. 9 месяцев назад
@@HalfClickUp Yes, PBR do flares both hollow and solid pins, but DID FJ Link pins are not meant to be fleared (if for nothing else, their lenght are to big - to acomodate clip). Glad you had no issues with it. My advice is (if chain is in good condition) to replaced that link with ZJ link (520 VX3) and be safe.

Ive been planning to do -1 +2. Whats ur take? Should I do -1 +3? I do a good amount of highway.
@HalfClickUp
@HalfClickUp 10 месяцев назад
I’ve heard great things about -1+2. However, the most popular gearing ratio change for these bikes is -1+1 which would give you the best balance of both acceleration and top end speed. I don’t see why you wouldn’t enjoy -1+2 though! Give it a run and let the Fizzer Fam know how she flies!

Unfortunately, my fizzer is black with the red frame, and I'm not in high school any more so that red frame is a real hassle that makes it hard to work with for color options v_v I actually go plus one on the chain with stock gearing. I have to stretch the swing arm to max just to get it on, but because there's less torque on the chain, I've never had problems with stretch yet (it stretched a little at first, but has been in spec since i put it on... Ages ago) One of these days, I'll put in as much effort into maintaining a high performance machine as you, but for now the focus of all my mods has just been on having an easier life 😂 I might try going up one in the front to correct the speedo without a dr, but I'm afraid the extra rotating mass will kill my mpgs... And I'm sitting here realizing how ridiculous i sound, it's one tooth 😂 I can't go down in the rear cause i absolutely refuse to be changing out aluminum sprockets, especially with Florida corrosion eating them alive. I wish they made a steel -2 or 3...
@brianhaygood183
@brianhaygood183 2 года назад
The speedo DRD is about the cost of a set of sprockets. Don't lose performance to correct a speedo. Are you saying you are running an extra link to reduce tension? To reduce tension you would need a larger rear sprocket. Chain length is not going to affect that at all. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant, though.
@brianhaygood183
@brianhaygood183 2 года назад
Up one in front would actually be extremely little rotating mass change. The sprocket would sound more slowly at a given road speed, as would the entire engine, so you would be reducing rotational energy by going up one. The problem is it would slow down your bike and an FZ6R needs all the help it can get.
