@@chadmilligan7497 He was talking about kmh, not mph and the point stands either way. Drive at very high speeds for a while and regular highway speed feels like you are crawling.
bro open ur eyes..he has mounted the camera on the bike..so it will appear like the bike looks stable..once he attaches that in the helmet, you will see the vibrations
Dutch Netherlands i remember the first time i made 250kmh with my 600cc gixxer which felt insane and in february i'm about to get my BMW S1000rr its gonna be an insane bike can't wait
Legend says he's still riding at 299 km/h up and down the autobahn this very day, only stops to refuel and have a bite to eat, all while the adrenaline has kept him awake for over 8 years #needforspeed
The cap on the speedometer is just to fulfil paperwork requirements to keep the lawyers happy and abide by the gentleman‘s agreement in Japan. Otherwise the R1 can go faster than 299 km/h easily.
The Yamaha R1 is without question one of the greatest bikes ever built. Well engineered, balanced, reliable, and economical. Not to mention look really cool.
rule number 1: if u cant go fast, dont climb to the left side, not just on autobahn, but everywhere in the world. except for crossing then just turn the blinker on, look at the mirror, and slowly move to the left 500m prior to your crossing target.
On the other hand, as an Australian this gives me anxiety. Here, people randomly enter the overtaking lane even when there's no traffic in the other lanes. Often without indicating.
That's because the Germans adhere to strict rules on the Autobahn. They don't get in the passing lane, and match pace with another vehicle and then give everyone behind them the middle finger.
@@arjorn9121 well... okay... maybe there are potholes But where i am from they would likely be classified as "minor road imperfections". The pot holes around here are usually big enough to bury a body in ...lol

@@fortniteowner8418 agree. They really have dimmed down the sound n tone of all new models over the last several years. No doubt due to stricter regulations.
Facts. Here in the USA it's basically a free for all of injury, death, road rage, and victim blaming. Essentially living and driving amongst criminals. More and more I am considering moving the fuck out of here once I have the resources and opportunity to do so.
@@estebanod The license maybe, but the training to get it? definitely not! For example, did your driving instructor ever tell you to "floor it" for maximum speed during driver training? This is standard in Germany.
+stoneeh To get to speeds over 200 KM/H you need to seriously bend forward which is really hard, over 300 you need to take control of your bike becuse wheels could shake and you are basicly sliding on sandpaper at speed of 300km/h, first 10 secounds you would take no injuries but every secound after that is deadly
I’ve been on the autobahn, I was doing 175 in a Renault, steering wheel shaking and I swear to god I didn’t see it but I heard a bike fly by my left. I only actually saw him when he was way passed me. It was unreal.
That's why you always have to stick to the right line except for passing. We can't implement things like highways without speed limits in my country, because people here can't behave properly.
That's a law on german highways, u aren't allowed to pass anyone on their right and always have to drive as far right as possible. So who wants to drive fast can just drive on the other lanes
Oh Man I used to love my good old and reliable Yamaha R 1s ( I owned 3 of them ) I toured on them all over Europe with luggage and everything else I needed for two weeks away. Apart from being fast is also very comfortable, lots of leg room, very relaxed to ride. This video reminded me when I had the urge to have a go at it and what a joy it was when it was possible. I like how you shift your gears ( Unless you've got a quick shifter on it ..) The stability on it is so reassuring that makes you want to go faster, you hardly feel the wind ( Providing you've got a higher screen ) When I saw my 185 mph - 298 kph it didn't feel I was going that fast, it felt as I was passing the cars slowly at that speed..Nevertheless on another occasion I went faster without the luggage naturally, very satisfactory indeed with the R 1 in every respect, mind you I always had Yamahas.. Lol
+Eljohnr9 There is no such thing, you have to get your ECU flashed by a tuner to have the limiter removed. Also motorcycle speedos are notoriously inaccurate, 299 on the dash is probably closer to 285 or something.
+Mario M yeah, it's just insane, just that moment when you look at the speedometer when it hits the 290km/h mark, it just hits the 299 km/h in like 1-2 seconds, definetly restricted, but it's also HEAVILY restricted, otherwise people could remove it and make theyr death inevitable (seeing as the bike would lose balance after the 299 km/h mark.
@@Name-eg1uf yes, but km/s is used mainly to measure the speed of spaceships, while travelling in space. It's a measurement of great magnitude to be used on Earth. For seconds, we have m/s. Counter that to a random guy on the net who most definitely does not bother with perfect grammar, I'm sure he meant kilometres like km's and not kilometre per second as in km/s
@@oddone3153 The Germans can thank Hitler for those roads.. They're 1 metre (approx 3ft) thick reinforced concrete.. Unlike roads everywhere else which are 10cm of gravel covered in 5cm of sticky, oily bitumen, less than half a foot thick, so it ends up bumpy and cracked. German Autobarns last for decades upon decades without needing any maintenance..
Common rule on germany's highways, u r not allowed to pass anyone on their right, und U always have to drive as far right as possible, so the people who wanna go fast can drive on the left
That's a law on german highways. u always have to drive as far right as possible and u aren't allowed to pass anyone on their right. So the leftest lane is pretty much only for passing someone or driving fast
All the credit goes to the other drivers who orderly moved to their right. I remember one day visiting Germany and I was excited concentrated driving at 170km/hr on the left lane and suddenly I was flashed from behind for not moving to the right. Yes, my mistake (to many hours at I95 in Florida).
"Who orderly moved to their right" because that's where you're supposed to be.. Except if you're passing another vehicle, you're always supposed to be on the right lane, that's how it is all over Europe * I mean except if for some reason you want to be impaled by a 300+kmh-going vehicle
I've ridden a mates R1 crossplain crank model and I can honestly say it's unbelievable. I've been riding for 37 years and had most bikes. That thing was in first gear going round a roundabout, I kept trying to change down as it seemed too high but I was in first!! Then I opened it up. It was like a powerful scooter as first was so tall I did 90.. I don't know what speed I was doing until I slowed down to the other cars speeds. I looked down,I was doing 90, it felt like I could get off and walk it felt that weird.
I'm not sure what you meant by 'tall', maybe because English isn't my first language, but I think I know what you meant by trying to change down, because I rode the 2010 R1 for about 8 years. Yes, the bike doesn't like to go slow as it felt like it would stall. It needs more fuel, but then adding fuel just made it want to go too fast. Was a great bike to have. So much power, so much happiness 😄
@@CikguSyawqi he meant the first gear goes to very high speed ( tall ) , there are bikes who go max 90km/h on first gear ( thats short ) , and the r1 goes around 130-160 means the first gear is tall
God, there is nothing better than cruising over a hundred, and throttling it up to its limiter on open road. I have an 07' GSXR 1000, because I got an insane price because the guy had a kid. 4400 US Dollar's, Jan, 08' with 700 miles on it, but Yamaha has my heart. My first bike was an 01' R6. First year with the clear LED brake lights. I STILL drool over the pictures of it. Nice Bike man, and be safe on that monster!
I know, right!! I can't wait untill it's spring again, so i can shoot some new footage. I hate these cold months in the Netherlands :') That's a great buy bye the way, 4.4k!! But you can always sell it and buy a R1, you know you want to :) Bikes are a lot more affordable in the US compared to the Netherlands :(
+Paul P Dude, you are insane! The fastest I went on my bike was 125mph on my Ninja 500 but that's as fast as it goes. I don't even know what that's like to do 190. That's gotta straight up feel like you're flying a fighter jet.
Omg....there is no speed breakers ....I am in love with this ... if I ride more than 80 kmph my greatest fear is speed breaker without warning in india 👏👏
