Gsxr owner here- lower seat height, better mid and low end, make it comfortable for my daily driver and commute. The R6 is a beautiful machine- that’s more track oriented and slightly less street friendly. Both are wonderful machines. Happy riding!

Hey dude, enjoyed the video but I feel like you left out some key buyers info. 08+ R6 compared to the 2011+ GSXR is noticeably faster. R6 has the active intake manifold stacks that drop up and down which riding an 08 for the first time makes a big difference. Compression ratio, reliability. Easier to change the oil on the GSXR. Fairings ease of removal between them. GSXR is much more comfortable and has an easier rider position. GSXR brakes and suspension is smoother and feels great, R6 is good but not as smooth. Gearbox in my opinion on the GSXR has play and begins to miss gears and hit false neutrals, never had that on the R6. Clutch fails sooner on the GSXR but has adjustment inside. Diagnostic system on the R6 is way better and built in, no gear indicator OR STEERING stabilizer on the R6 which is a must. R6 revs higher, rear seat comfort. Headlights at night? Intakes diameters on the R6 are much larger. GSXR growls, R6 screams. GSXR has slightly better low end bite. I like the stock exhaust setup on the GSXR better, R6 has the muffler actuator that fails overtime. O2 sensors on each. Throttle precision is better on the R6. They were the first to use throttle by wire and it was good. Easier to get into neutral on the R6 while at a light.

Gsxr 750, more tourqe and more relaxed seating position, much better for streets. R6 is track weapon

Yeah, they are almost the same price too 12,499 for the GSXR 750 and 12,199 for the R6, if you have the money for an R6, an extra 300 for the 750, makes a lot of sense to me for a decent amount more power. Only thing the 750 is missing is ABS, and maybe some more advanced electronics, which a lot of people don't really care about. I would only get the R6 if you needed to get a 600cc for the racing class, 750 seems to be the better street bike to me

GSXR1000 just slapped the Honda Fireblade 1000RR-R, Kawi ZX10R and Yamaha R1 in the latest MotoAmerica Stock 1000 class. Fireblade fought it off until it was over taken on the last lap. Cheapest bike in the field destroyed its much more expensive competitors. Most comfortable of all of them as well.

So it’s 2011-2021 on the GSXR 600/750 line up that are the same except for color differences from year to year. I believe you said 08-21. Just correcting that info. Both are great bikes!

hey man great explanation on the two. I'm currently in the market for a bike (first one!!) and was leaning more towards the r6. Aside from the slight style changes you mentioned, are there certain years that I should avoid or would be better than other years? Was thinking of just 2014+ but i dont really know much about bikes yet. I do work in Newport so maybe i'll see you cruisin PCH sometime! keep my eye out for that orange!

I got the k7 gsxr600 which puts out 122hp and they are a beast on the top end, would love an R6 and a ZX6R , but as you said all these bike are more capable than 99% of the people riding them, it really dosent matter what you get tbh

Been racing pro motocross for years and first time on a bike which was a 2002 or 03 r6 gave me the biggest smile of my life yet scared the shit out of me. I was hitting corners pretty nice and I seriously don’t see the need for a 1000cc. If you disagree just message me and I’ll show you the exact same reason why unless you’re top 80 fastest racers in the world for mx/sx you do not need the biggest bike possible. I know a few racers that are well on their way to American pro motocross and making good money and they are still riding 250s and still will be for about 5 years, that’s the same comparison as riding a 600 for 4-6 instead of 1 year then straight to the 1000

Sure they make 110+ hp. But on the street when you're relying on roll-ons and sub-10k rpm, they make a fraction of that power. That's the reason some go with a liter bike, less shifting and less waiting due to prodigious torque. But personally I find the 800-1000cc class naked bike where it's at. Comfort, similar or better power than 600 supersport, and 20-30 ft-lb MORE torque than the 600. Ease of access for maintenance, lower insurance due to no plastic. Pleasing grunt without tons of revs.

idk man, my R6 with a full setup produces 114 RWHP at 10K RPM and most of it begins at the 8K rpm mark... with a tune, you can really wake these beasts up. As I said in my video, I am not bored and for someone who rides a ton of bikes, that's saying a lot.

@@CutTheKam Have you priced a side panel? That's why. Insurance companies assume to return the bike to 100% original condition and usually dealerships will only do damage estimate based on replacing whatever needs replaced to return the bike to original condition. That means if a side fairing gets a decent scuff in it, the entire piece will need replaced. A scuff can cost well over 1 grand. And it just goes from there. Exhaust? Replace. Footpeg? Replace. Mirror? Replace. Handlebar tweaked a bit? Replace. Swingarm get a few scratches in it? Replace. Wheel rotors get dinged? Replace. If the frame gets scuffed bad enough, got to replace the entire frame. Add all the labor time into that, this is what the insurance company will be given from a dealership for estimates. That's how it goes with motorcycles. With supersports all that plastic takes the hit. With Ducati's for example, the plastic costs 2x to 3x as much as already expensive Japanese plastic. It can total out the motorcycle in a hurry.

@@PetroHead Not diminishing your experience. I guess personally I prefer bikes that produce solid torque right out of the hole. Big torque to me is more entertaining than waiting for a million revs. I have an MT-09 right now (not the '21 model), I had a Z900 before. Both machines crank out that no-shifting-needed torque when you roll on. The Z900 got 43 mpg. The MT-09 gets around 50 mpg. I had a 2006 ZX-6R about 14 years ago and it did about 43 mpg. I just found myself looking for places and ways to exploit the potential of that machine. Was very hard to find on the street/backroads. I've never been to a racetrack. MT can make 115 whp. The Z900 can make 125+ whp. Both make 64 to 73 ft-lb. That's just way higher than 45 ft-lb.

Great video. I learned something from this. I am from the late 1960s early 70s when my Honda 750 was the meanest machine on the planet. I rode mine all out too. I would have killed myself on a GSXR, R6 or BMW1000RR. Good grief. I cringe when I watch the Isle of Man.

I grew up riding motocross bikes my whole childhood, and my first street bike was a GSXR-1100, back in the day. No issues. The throttle doesn't have to be turned all the way to the stop.

If you want to ride an eye-opening 600, find an older, 2007-2008 Honda CBR 600rr and ride that... against your R6. I had an 07 and it was thrilling, light, and pretty comfy. I think you will be impressed.

How is this a bias review when you own the Yamaha vs the GSXR...............of course you will choose your bike.............duh! Also for the 2018 GSXR it has 125 hp and NOT 104 as you stated in the video.. Yes i saw that coming too since you own the Yamaha and not the GSXR.

THE most painfully totally OBNOXIOUS motorcycles I have ever been behind have always been Japanese 600s with aftermarket exhausts likely long overdue for new packing ....I mean it can be so so so AWFUL that I either have to stop and just let them go or what I more typically do is find a place to blaze by em and then pull out the stops and LOSE the noisy bitches!
