I've known this fact for over two decades, and yet, I still find it incredibly fascinating. I remember when scientists used to correlate intelligence to brain size. That's laughable 😂
@@hamubice1551 EDP was popular on the internet until he got caught trying to go out with a 13 year old (which was actually some people trying to catch predators). And now he is infamous for that.
Something tells me that Wolves and Ravens have been like this for a lot longer. In Norse mythology, the god Odin is said to have had a pair of Ravens and a pair of Wolves. It is said that Odin first had the pair of Wolves, Geri and Freki, but they had trouble finding prey to sustain themselves, so Odin befriended a pair of Ravens, Huginn and Muginn, to help them find prey and feast on the leftovers to sustain themselves
yup. The norse might've exaggerated some things, but given they put ravens and wolves in such a prominent position by odin, it's likely that their symbiosis has been going on for millennia. and it's amazing.
6:47 they found a second recently! In a different part of the world but there’s another whale calling at 52hz out there! Don’t get your hopes up if you think it’s a new whale, chances are it really is just a rare deformity they both have-
“Despite their size, they’re born with the audacity to steal from, no exaggeration, the biggest predator on the planet...that isn’t EDP445.” Absolute mad lad.
20 million year future Crows: “the humans are all gone, let’s now breed our wolf companions into different types with desirable traits even when the traits will likely destroy their lives forever. Wolves: “I’m getting a strong sense of dae-jah-mustard”
I've heard of ravens and wolves helping each other. I heard it from Wild Kratts. But I didn't know they were friends. And the way the ravens play with the wolf cubs, so cute. Disney should make a movie about it.
i also once saw a warthog and a meerkat mentoring a lion cub..they teach the lion cub about way of life and not to worry about anything.....living carefree...nature is amazing
well that started out rough but I gotta say, the ravens and wolves segment really warmed my heart a bit. I love corvids and who doesn't love dogs so seeing them work together is awesome.
I love ravens they are so intelligent. Check out Falconry and Me channel she raises various birds for hunting and she has a raven named Fable who is so rad
After a mind-numbing, soul-destroying day at work, I watch a couple of your videos on the bus home. It's what keeps me sane (or as sane as I'll ever be...)
@@missaleebounty In Norse mythology, Odin has two ravens. The two ravens are Hugin and Munin, the wolf is Loki’s son. The wolf can either be called Fenrir or Fenris.
His arm positioning makes me think of a phone selfie lmao for all we know our boy here is so good, laid back, and just ballin on a budget. Less is more. Keeping things simple, to the point, nothing flashy 🙃😎🥸
I love his different ways of referring to death....'turning them into a chalk outline without hesitation'. On another note, corvids (crows, ravens, etc) are probably the smartest birds on the planet bar none. Like problem solving, tool using smart. They will even hold a grudge for years afterwards against anyone who disrespects them, and bring gifts (feathers, pebbles, shiny things) to those who treat them nicely
Watch your words, my friend. Native Americans REALLY hate this moniker (especially people living in Canada where we also have Métis and Inuit people) especially when they didn't name their continent. They are referred to as Indigenous people and I believe that the author of these amazing videos would agree with me.
Ravens: Average intelligence equivalent to an 8-10 year old human. Wolves: Average intelligence equivalent to a 4-5 year old human. This is just 'adopting a sibling from the playground' in the animal world.
@@12346unkown That would be implying ravens and wolves are dumb, which they're not. Especially ravens. Humans aren't the only animal around with the potential for high intelligence, just the luckiest in the evolution minigame.
@@moofey6900 with standard intelligence testing, they are on average of the same level as a human 10 year old, in terms of problem solving, social skills, and cognitive reasoning. Case in point: Ravens who get burned, will avoid the thing that burns them. And adult human will get angry and hurt themselves trying to break the thing that burned them. In reality, Ravens are smart than the average adult human.

@@LeewardWind I’d pay good money for a team of construction beavers. Just play the audio of running water and in the next few hours you have a newly built rustic log cabin made by the most lovable bunch of construction workers.
“The fox has a partner while you’re in bed watching this by yourself.” I will admit sir that your proclamation is correct. Although, I do propose a motion to notice the fox is vastly cuter, and better looking than I. I am sure he would “pull many jonts” that I would never be able to, and he can’t even speak English. What a man, sir, I tip my hat to you. 🎩
That last clip was so cute. Even better since it seems so hard to find an animal video with original audio only, they all have some music or annoying laugh track played over them.
“Raven-1, Wolf-1” “Lima-Charlie, Raven-1” “Targets confirmed, 30 meters north of location, how copy?” “Roger Raven-1. Wolf-3 and Wolf-5 in route interception.”
That was the best outro ever and I hope you return to it and make it a mainstay because after your done making us respect the wild, its nice to see animals being cute .... We need to forget how wild them monsters really are foe our own sanity
Brother I just want to say I respect and enjoy your Productions man! You got something good going here it's all about education. But education in a way that keeps people's attention especially with the witty humor. Keep doing your thing bro! As far as I'm concerned this is definitely in the original
Everybody's talking about the wolves and ravens relationship but nobody is talking about that beaver at the end eating... It literally melt my heart and now i want a pet beaver 😭
Re: the dead fish orgy - there are shellfish with penes twice the length of their bodies, which they can regrow because crabs often eat them. You don't need to make up freaky sex-adjacent stuff about the ocean, it's already there!
On the raven-wolf friendship: I worked at one of the largest sled dog kennels in the world. There were specific ravens that were friends with specific dogs. Each dog would have it's own house made from a plastic barrel on a wooden frame, and small run, with a truck axle sunk in the ground and they were chained to the axle. Each dog had it's allotment of food placed on top of it's house, twice a day. At feeding times certain dogs would share their food with their raven friends, one dog and one raven taking one bite each in turn with their friend until the food was gone. There was no perceptible favour being done by the ravens, the dogs simply liked the company. This phenomenon was concentrated at one end of the kennel, so I suspect that it was "cultural", and slowly spreading out from some initial pair of friends.
I always thoroughly enjoy your presentations. Thank you so much for thinking of us. I hope it helps you to know that there are people out in the world that click on your videos and often share your fun facts with their friends. Cheers.
Dolphins do the same thing with humans when fishing. The dolphins help round up the fish for the fisherman everyday at the same time. I forget the country
My COD mobile username was Ravenwolf. Though I'd never heard that term anywhere else and didn't even know about this partnership they had. but knowing this kinda makes the name cooler
@@carlosvelasquez331 EDP445 is a content creator that was caught trying to have sexual relations with a minor. He was kicked off of most social media sites if I remember correctly. And this was your latest episode of “Over-explaining the Joke!”
I'm so glad the wolves and raven one wasn't something catastrophic. 😂😂 Those are my two favorite animals in the world and I never knew they did that. Makes me love them even more. 🥰
I do absolutely love to see the wolves and crows being friends. If you take hunger away, a lot of the smarter animals, even predators, will form social bonds with other species.
Something I noticed in nature is that wild animals don’t want to fight each other (unless one sees that it can fight, win, then feast on the loser; in other words, predators choose the weakest animal to try to take down). It took me forever to realize why. Mostly, any animal that fights risks getting injured. Injuries have a lot of potential to damage mobility, or get infected. Both are devastating in nature.
Even predators? Especially predators. Most predators are effectively harmless if they don't see you as lunch or a threat. Herbivores *always* see you as a threat.
@@giftofthewild6665 that awesome. I wonder when "they" came up with the names for groups of animals? I even found out that a baby rabbit is also called a kitten and something else that I can't remember. Interesting tho that these names stuck for generations.
