@@amazingsportsmixes126 i hope that's right, he's a joy to watch. Some great matches in the tournament. Skill level just keeps getting better. Making me nostalgic for my day's grappling. From the early days w/Dad driving me all over the North East. I sometimes forget how lucky I was but just came from watching the finals at my Dad's house and it comes back.
Dearl Lord you've got some of the best wrestlers on the planet here. With the coaches, wrestlers, and you've got Jordan Burroughs on the Mike and Kyle dake on the mat. This tournament had been incredible. The Lee Ramos match was so sick. The Vito vs. RBY was pretty dam amazing as well. RLTW 3/75
It just shows how competitive wrestling is that Sasso pushed Yianni. Even with Yianni's international freestyle experience. Sasso wants an NCAA title. Yianni wants an Olympic gold.
Sammy might be the slowest starter to a season but definitely finishes strong when it matters. Watching his first matches to his seasons idk if it's his cardio or what.
That front head spring/ Granby roll, 6:13 mean asab yanni didn’t care he knew how much it would hurt and did it anyway for the 2 As soon as the ankle was free there was no hesitation
Honestly I don't think it hurt anyone. It was, however, incredibly impressive. I'm still not sure how it worked, or how he had the confidence to execute that and know it would work. Absolutely crazy move
7:55-8:02 it looks like Yanni could have his knee snapped/dislocated...is nothing potentially dangerous in college wrestling? I get he's flexible but that looks like it hurts so bad.
Bro that's on you. It's so easy to avoid the comment section on RU-vid. Especially if you're watching on your phone. Pick your vid, turn your phone sideways and voila!
To be great at this level, you gotta be training with sharks 4-5yrs older than you. Yanni was training with the Cornell wrestling team while he was in high school. Sad to say this is a privilege sport now..steel sharpens steel PERIOD...
Sasso got out scrambled. Also, on a guy like Yianni you can't just dive in on an ankle and expect to finish, his defense is too good. You have to take a well timed shot straight to a finish, Sasso's style just doesn't match up well.
Yianni in phenomenal shape here. Looked like an Olympian. Respect to Sasso, kids a hammer. Yianni continuing to show maturity, hes better every tournament.
tbf though if Yianni had 5 more seconds in the 2nd he might have been able to get that cradle turned over again. Both of them are top notch scramblers and defenders. Was a great match.
@@MrGuanYu1 right...im saying that b/c buckeye wrestlers could always use 5 more seconds. love sasso but his bread and butter move is a long drawn out take down - ha!
@@Zion122 sasso still had yianni’s head AND arm. Even though Yianni had his leg, that still should technically be two. And he was pretty much all the way behind at that time.
In a main event fight the challenger is introduced first and made to wait as the champ enters. why does Yianni Diakomihalis have to wait and watch the challenger Sasso enter with all of the BS involved ?
Oklahoma State should fire John Smith and hire Kyle Dake. Every hot HS wrestler in the country who doesn't want to wrestle for Cael would want to wrestle for Kyle.
@@crispy3685 John Smith's team hasn't won an NCAA title in 17 years, and has only finished as high as 2nd twice in that span. It's time he was fired and replaced.
Sasso never committed shot just played defense grabbing a leg holding could of been called for stalling for a point never was behind yanni at end of match if want longer yanni would of got take down too good of scrambler go sasso
Bro please hush. I hate you mfs who swear to be gurus behind a screen These dudes would literally wax your ass and you’re sitting here tryna give lesson. Sit down somewhere bru. 🤦🏽♂️🤌
Yianni may have won his 4th but certainly did not wrestle like the 4x champions before him. For being so dominant he wrestled soft. His team mate put him to shame. So disappointing to see him go out with a whimper.
i remember meeting Yianni when he was a freshman and I was a junior at cornell. he walked by our party and was surprised that me and my friends knew who he was. he’s of course really become a star in the wrestling world since then but in any case, i’m grateful to have witnessed his college career. go big red 🥲
