Cybersix? I watched that show when I was a little kid and have been searching for it for over a decade desperate to rewatch it now that I can form proper long term memories. I’ve literally asked hundreds of people’s and scrolled through tens of thousands of tv shows. I eventually gave up hope of ever finding my old favourite show and you just casually mention it?! I fucking love you seriously I can die complete now. You are a hero.

Mars Attacks gave me such nightmares as a kid, especially the bit with the alien disguised as a human.

The only childhood trauma I experienced was from the scene in labyrinth with the dancing puppets that take their head of...something bout the dancing freaked me out massively....oh yeah and the painting in ghostbusters 2

i finnally finished this episode... 2 months and i finally built up the courage

late as hell but omfg I thought I was the only one that was terrified of Mars Attacks as a little kid. The scene where the president (I think) got impaled by a flag haunted me for yeaaaars.

Any Ghostbusters scene with the hell dogs gave me countless nightmares when I was young

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was my everything when I was little, I just got finished rewatching all 7 seasons, and I've started watching the Angel spinoff series And yes, the gentlemen scared me, But by this point I had already watched Animals of Farthing Wood season1, the first Scream movie, and Doctor Who. It didnt scare me as much as it probably should have. Also the dream thing that Buffy had is a Slayer thing - apparently slayers can get visions from what I'm guessing are the powers that be, like how Cordeilia is a seer, she gets visions (painful, mind shreading visions) about crimes and demons that they need to know about to save the world from its latest distaster.... or... well, to save LA from its latest disaster... or an alternate universe. The scariest thing in Buffy that I can remember having an actual effect on me, was probably..... probably gonna have to say when Angel turned evil again, But the thing I remember most, in all of Buffy, was a scene with Willow and Xander, It was after Willow tried to destroy the world while Dawn and Buffy were trapped in basically a grave, And Xander just.... held Willow as she cried. Idk why that one stuck with me,but.. Anyway, Looking back on things, I realized something. All those homophobic people that say "watching gay on tv makes you gay" may actually be right. Willow Rosenberg dated a girl called Tara, Willow is bisexual, though in the tv show she is just lesbian because Bisexual wasn't really.... well known. Tara was lesbian. And then in doctor who, Captain Jack Harkness is gay. I am now bisexual So.... GAY POWER

What cartoon really scared me when I was a kid was that episode of Captain Planet or he shot that Ray and it made all those brown kids disappear

The only episode from buffy the vampire slayer that I got scared of was the one where children were in a hospital and the monster's eyes was draining the kids in the hospital.

That intro was lowkey even more terrifying with cool cat. If i had to run and hide from cool cat i would be absolutely petrified.

Maybe the rooster's name is a sort of rewriting of the french classic rooster name "Chante Clair"

During the series buff occasionally has visions of the future in her dreams, so that is probably why she has the dream about the gentlemen.

The gentlemen look like a far more frightening version of the observers from Fringe

As a kid, anything turning into something else scared the pants of me. Think Shrek, Teen Wolf, Violet Beuragard from Willy Wonka, Pinnochio turning into the donkey...etc Then I grew up to be a huge Cronenberg fan 🤔 Edit: anyone know the name of that show of the puppet clip he showed before Buffy? Sooo familiar

I know this video is old but when I was like five years old I walked downstairs to get some chocolate milk and my dad had fallen asleep on the couch with the tv on and Mars Attacks was on and I didn't know what it was so I sat down and watched the scene where the woman bites the guy's finger and peels off her face revealing what my kid brain interpreted as a grotesque alien face and led to about ten years of an intense fear of alien abduction

There's a Buffy episode I saw when I was very young where Buffy hears everyone's thoughts somehow, and hears someone thinking "they'll all be dead by tomorrow" or something along those lines. She thinks it's this nerd outcast and finds out he brought a gun to school only to later find him holding a large shotgun up to his face in the school's clock tower, about to commit suicide. Being very scared of death at the time that scene already messed me up, but she then finds the real culprit: *a lunch lady who is putting boxes of fucking **_rat poison_** in the school lunches in an attempt to **_kill all of the kids._* I ate school lunches at the time, so needless to say it totally fucked me. I remember only eating the bread roll from the school lunches for about a week. I am fairly certain that was the first and last episode I saw until I was much older. I'll never forget it.

I was scared by the "mutants" in spy kids. They turn the dad into a bad drawing! The agents cry for help in the tv show but kids watch it as mindless entertainment!

I watched terminator 1 when I was 6 years old. There is this introduction scene where the camera zooms into 1 human skulls among others, so slow & so dark, then a metalic humanoid robot leg crushes it. What a fantastic day. Thank you, dad.

What I like about this is that you really got into *why* things scare us as kids: the concepts behind the things, not the things themselves. It's not scary that a guy got turned into a skeleton; the idea of an alien civilization possessing weapons so advanced that we don't even understand them might just suddenly drift in and wipe us out with those weapons is what's scary.

I also know a guy trapped inside the body of a black panther. The police who raided their cell still won't accept it.

Cybersix is criminally underrated. One of my favourites from a child.

The scene that scared me as a kid, and stuck with me until adulthood.... The final scene of Sleepaway Camp when I was around 10 or 11 years old. I remember the movie was ending, and we all (I was hosting a sleepover) started saying how it wasn't scary and laughing. Until Angela stood up and turned around. You see then that she's actually a little boy, standing naked, covered in blood, wearing a wig, holding a decapitated head... We were all pretty quiet for a good while after that lol.

I hope advertisers protect me from this content in the only way I know how: destroying this critic's livelihood.

Back when I was younger, there was one episode of baby Einstein that I hated. It was that... giraffe puppet thing. I was so scared that I legit woke up screaming every night that I watched it. It got so bad that my mom locked up the baby Einstein dvd to never bee seen again. Go back and watch it and you will understand.

There was this movie that scared me as a 12 year old boy, it was called Cool Cats. It was about a demonic video online that kills you 7 days after you watched it. Pretty scary

Man these ones were all memorable from my childhood! As soon as you said "Buffy" I was like, "Oh man I hope it's the Gentlemen episode". Also I totally remember watching Cyber Six and the episode with the eye is literally the only episode of the show I remember.
