This is a great practice, but in the half side planks I'm having some twisting sensation in my top knee and don't want to do it damage. Can you advise on how to resolve this and tell me why it's happening? Thanks in advance!
I'm so glad you like them Linda! More to come - I'm actually working on a 4-week hip pain program that I hope lots of people will find helpful 🌞 Thanks for practicing with me and well done finding what your body needs.
Joelle, I cannot thank you enough for your succinct, and detailed videos. I'm an active functional fitness athlete and recently had another piriformis flare up. I've worked multiple of your videos into my daily practice and have made a quick recovery. Thank you kindly, keep up the excellent work.
This Yogavideo helped me to get rid of my pain in the glutes and my back! Been doing this for a couple of weeks now and it’s amazing how my body has responded! Thank you for great instructions!
I had sore hips for a few weeks and was trying all kinds of yoga stretches but nothing helped until I did these poses. I did this video every day for a week or so and my pain disappeared. I now incorporate these poses into my daily routine and I have kept the pain from returning!! Thank you Joelle! ❤️
I want to say thank you very much for this video. I hurt my hip while trying to pick up my dog and your videos are currently getting me through this. Again thank you
After 10 months of pain I feel relief from this routine and the sciatica&piriformis yoga. You have helped me toward a solution. My piriformis affecting the sciatic nerve as a consequence of 3 months being bedridden and deconditioned in the hospital last summer. Too bad the hospital physios did not clue into this but better late than never, Thankyou!
Don’t want to jinx it but I’ve been doing this and another one for 3 days and the piriformis syndrome that I have been suffering with for months is 80% recovered. Its amazing actually. THANK YOU 🙏
I'm so glad I found you Joelle, and thank you for the wonderful sessions on hips, glutes, sciatica and piriformis. I've struggled with low back and leg pain for years and although I exercise regularly, I frequently have lots of pain in my low back, front of hips, and sides of my legs. I was about to cave in and go to physiotherapy but I've been doing several of your videos each day for the past week and my pain is pretty much gone. Thank you so much. I'll be recommending you and I'll be keeping up with your videos.
Oh that's amazing! Just shows what can happen when you find what your body needs and take good care of it! Thanks so much for sharing Anne, and see you soon on the mat :)
i have normalize the pain because of nursing school, and i literally did one of the movements and i have been working on muscle activation and it let out many pops and or air and i felt the heaviness in my back and upper butt region just go away. i was speechless because i just started practicing yoga within the last two months, so I'm glad to of found this video
Thank you for your classes, Joelle. They are helping me feel better and improve the quality of my life. This one was great, but I couldn't complete the side plank portion. I am still building strength. Thank you again! I found you on FB and sent you a private message. I am also reading Those Happy Moments and enjoying it very much. :)
I'm so happy to hear this Joey! Side plank can be one of those poses that takes time and then boom - all of a sudden one day you'll find yourself floating! And I'm SO glad to hear you're enjoying Those Happy Moments, thanks so much for letting me know! 😃
10 minutes is perfect for me because I had surgery on my Achilles heel, which left my left leg weak, and I had, for the first time, a sciatica pain that had taken me to the emergency
I’ve become a new fan of these videos. I’ve pulled a muscle playing pickle ball a few days ago and these videos have been Lifesavers. They really are so wonderful and the fact that each one is just 10 minutes makes it such a simple thing to decide to do. Once I get on the mat of course I stay here for about 30 minutes to do three of your videos but the 10 minute concept is really clever. I’m sure I’m doing way more yoga because you made these videos 10 minutes thank you so much
Beautiful. Your video is terrific, the poses and your wonderful voice. I've been viewing videos (at least ten today and I am so glad I ran across your video Joelle. Thank you my friend.
I'm using this video and you sciatica and piriformis stretch video several times a day - especially first thing in the morning, and crucially last thing before bed. Wonderful results: not only the piriformis is being stretched out here, but all the associated muscles. The piriformis! This small, seemingly insignificant, often neglected muscle in the buttock, once in spasm and inflamed can completely debilitate a person. Once again, thank you very much. Your routines really targeted and gently stretched out the piriformis and surrounding musculature - easing, and eventually eradicating my piriformis syndrome and related sciatica. I appreciate that.
Pregnant lady here in her third trimester. This excercice is heaven to my left butt. I just skipped the part that you are facing down but I was able to to the rest!. I'm combining this excercice routine with a prenatal yoga class that I do every day. Thanks so much ❤️
@@YogawithJoelle Update: i did it twice a day for a few days and the pain disappeared, which means it'll now be my new daily habit! (considering the pain came back because I stopped for a few days 😅)
You're welcome! It's entirely up to you and your body, but I recommend a bit of movement every day, and 10 minutes is a great way to make a difference! So for instance you could commit to doing this one 3 times a week, and mix in some other 10 minutes practices on the other days. Here's a playlist organized from head to toe in case that's helpful: tinyurl.com/ydk24afc
mam .thanks a lot, today i got releived out of my groin, hip flexor, buttock muscle completely because of you. i watched many videos but didnt get rid of ..i am your 💖 great follower from INDIA....JAI HINDH....🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Joelle, thank you for another great video. Your videos are so helpful to me in dealing with the pains of older age and being able to maintain an active lifestyle. My question, at minute 7, seated twist, should flexed legbe parallel to long leg or diagonal across axis? And, when twisting, stop if sit bone rises off ground or continue? Andrea
Good question Andrea! We're looking for more of a diagonal to create a stretch in the outer hip/glutes area. And for the twist, it's fairly common for the sit bone to lift on one or both sides. So as long as you feel a stretch and it's not painful, don't worry too much about that 😉 (It happens to me too!)
I hope it helps! You can do any of my videos as often as you'd like, so long as it feels good and you aren't pushing into any pain. Pay attention to whether any particular stretches or moves feel especially good in your body so that you can come back to them. Try starting with every other day and see how it goes
Hi Sarah, it's this one here talking about those five postures: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Bay-2nd4io.html And there's a quickie version with a 5-min flow, too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VEsXlWTGWUw.html 😉
Furthermore: though targeting and easing the problem, this routine is un-dauntingly short. Ten minutes to effectively treat the problem. Anyone can do a ten minute stretch. It can be repeated throughout the day, and even linked to other of your videos on lower back problems. A small, easily swallowed tablet for immediate and effective relief - and not a jaw-breaking gob-stopper of a Horse Pill. Thanks, again.
Sorry, I don't keep track of which music I use in different videos, but it's definitely not the legend of Zelda 😉 I always pick something from the free RU-vid audio library, so you may be able to find it that way.
