The thing that has brought me the most peace in terms of my own style, is removing myself from most fashion content I see online. Nowadays I wear what I like, and sometimes trends help me find new things I otherwise wouldn't have found. Slowly expanding my wardrobe 1 piece at a time feels so much more rewarding in terms of my style progression rather than just buying everything popular however, in my opinion trends are important for fashion culture as it can help shift people minds an opinion, but it can start to sour in people's mouths when it's all some people wear / hate on.
Definitely, I’ve found myself watching less fashion content the past few months as I’ve been focusing on other interests. I’ve noticed I feel less pressured to fit a certain look and enjoy my own style more
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon I've been doing the same thing as life catches up to me, but in return it makes figuring out the newest piece i want to get more exciting and more personal than if i just subconsciously pick something i saw on a TikTok somewhere.

It's crazy how trends made stuff like sambas into this crazy hyped fashion thing. We used to pick them up from kohls back in the day en-masse on sale to skate in/play indoor/generally fuck around in. Lol, "back in the day"...I'm talking about like '08
Not following trends make things interesting. People are literally getting their outfits cloned in a factory it makes shit so boring. I guess things trend for a reason, but at a certain point people stop wearing the clothes for the look and more because they are trending then they throw their shit away when it's done lmao.
i think u can wear trendy stuff if u genuinely like it (like ud wear it regardless of if it was popular) but I agree experimentation and the confidence to put shit on even if it isn't trendy or accepted creates more unique outfits kinda sad ppl wear stuff jus cuz everyone else says it's cool
@@mystic5008 this is how I feel trendy things trend for a reason so I’m not mad at people wearing it, but when the trend ends and you just take your stuff off then you’re only wearing it for the trendiness of it and not that like how the clothes look

trends kill individualism make the world feel hyper real , like everyone wants to be the main character but they are all just npc copies of one another and that goes from the tracksuit( i think im some bigshot gangster) to whatever you call rainbow hair (emoesc) activists wannabes to the "im so cool and popular , better and more aesthetical than you" people that were icecream jeans, palace t-shirts n stussy hoodies ,stuff feels so fake like everyone be afraid to be them it just sad af.
100% like I chose Gorpcore and that’s where I’m at just stagnant & happy . Other people should just choose a trend and stick to it regardless if it dies out! that’s part of your personality ❤

Also fashion influencers that worship brands are a huge red flag if you follow them for inspo. So tired of instagram showing those people that have their whole room full of Stussy branding, like carpets, posters desk decorations.
I definitely agree with wearing what you like, but saying Fuck trends is the reason I made this video. Trends don’t need to be totally written off to build personal style

This channel is fantastic. Such a well-needed, grounded take on consumer behavior as a whole. Fashion hasn’t been as fun since people have started placing so much of their self-value in what other people think of their appearance. Wear what you think is cool, whether you found it from a trend or an outside interest. The best outfits (imo) are curated as a result of having an eclectic taste that comes from living life outside of the online fashion sphere.

Right now, the only trend I truly do not like is the trashy 2000s fashion resurgence. I hated it when I was a kid/teen and I still hate it now. No shade to anyone that wears it. Wear whatever makes you happy.

"You're so different" is incorrect. They are doing it to be like everyone else, you are not thinking of it as a perpetual cycle. The are hoping to be part of the newest thing which is a mindset made acceptable by people before them.
I do hate trends, i didn't know it was a "thing." The whole baggy everything style is not for me but everybody hopped on and looks the same. Some people try to say you can't dress when you're not following trends: you still wearing ___ in 23/24?" How people don't care about matching anymore. The mr. put in on era circa quarantine. Maybe it's just online idk what people wear irl.
i have never followed trends. i slap on my outifts as i see fit on whatever day. i don't colour co ordinate at all. i match nothing but....i don't want to look like a fool either. i just know works. trends? you are like a goat following the herd.
i hope my comments stay near each other. I will say I believe trends create an outfit template for people tryna get into fashion and find their look. they can just follow along in the beginning and eventually they'll find what they really want to wear
Great vid!! I think you could probably just enhance your commentary by either giving a sentence to transition into where your taking the described ideas, or organizing everything into a chapter format, so it is clearer how your putting these segments of ideas together to detail the larger notion.
