How is anyone to know how long this woman was going to continue recording? The man had every right to get what he needed. He didn't step on her, bump into her, or stay and watch her.

I'm now team "Ban filming in Gyms" I honestly don't see it getting better. Their false entitlement blinds them from being respectful. Time to show the kids that actions have consequences especially in the real world.

To the girl in the video - you’re not the main character in his life. You wouldn’t expect him to wait if you weren’t filming yourself; the same applies to when you choose to film yourself in the gym both he and you have membership.

They intentionally film near racks/equipment as well as set up their camera so far away in order to claim a large area. They bank on people being unwilling to cause conflict that they get away with it. Then, if someone does enter the space, they can use it as content. It's a win-win for them.

She says she is trying to help "queens out here tryna stack a shelf". Her own shelf is non-existent.

Does anyone else think that IF they banned filming in gyms and some gyms advertised that they allowed filming, these 'content creators' wouldn't want to use them anyway cos, they're so narcissistic they want to be the only ones filming?

Sadly most gyms don't want to police or correct bad behaviour because they don't want to lose the membership $$. What they don't realise is this kinda shit is what makes people cancel their membership.

Man, I never would even know these people existed or what kind of horrible people they are if it weren’t for watching Joey’s videos. I could be in ignorant bliss and not be letting these complete strangers get an emotional rise out of me. Yet there’s something oddly satisfying about listening to a reasonable person lecture a completely unreasonable person and do it with kindness, logic, and strength (no pun intended). I think we need Joey’s stern face on a T-shirt that says “You need to do better!”

To be fair, I love these videos. Joey has pretty much given me a little more confidence to start going to the gym. I don't mean by seeing all these drama queen's filming and getting angry in a "public" gym when a gym member happens to pop into the clip to pick something up or use something.... or simply walking to the next workout area.... Just one more reason to not go to gyms. I played sports in high school (tennis, football, basketball), but let myself get out of shape over the next several years. When I was 25 (almost 45 years ago), I went from a flabby 212 pounds to a very strong 185 within a few months by working out at home. My only equipment was a pair of dumbbells, grip exercisers, and a chair (for inclined pushups). I used the I-beam in the basement for pullups. I threw in situps and several isometric exercises along with a few calisthenics (squats...). Never left the house for a workout and got into the best shape of my life. That's probably not going to work for guys looking for big bulk, but if you just want to be in great shape, it works. (Look at what Charles Atlas accomplished.) Small up-front investment, then free forever. Drama-free, too.

I was curious and went to her instagram page. Her lip filler game is crazy. I don’t know how people do that to themselves and think they look natural.

I’m so happy that people in the gym I go to in Chicago are not consumed with filming themselves in the gym. Everyone just goes in to get their workout in, enjoy themselves and communicate with their fellow gym friends.

I spent all my 20's in the gym weight training but through injury I had to stop at 30. Now 52 and fully recovered I would like to get back to training but I've been watching Joey's videos for 12 months and the world seems so different now. I'm struggling to pluck up the courage to go again :(

People like theese should definitely get their own gym. But it is also because of people like this, that I exercise at home instead. Its not a fully fledged gym, but it is amazing how far you can get with a few weights, kettlebells, rubber bands and the nature around you.

by this time you'd think the message is clear... I guess either the message hasn't reached everybody yet, it isn't as effective as we hoped it was, or they don't care... maybe a more aggressive approach is necessary... if they give you an attitude when you're minding your own business, just stand in the middle of their shot with the most fierce look you can muster and look at them but also through them, or inform some more folks and keep walking pass the shot until they get the message or freak out, giving you some sweet content for yourself (just don't frustrate people that are in a corner, trying to mind their business and being kind to others)

I don't even care to be in a gym anymore.I just want to workout, I don't want to worry about what video I'm going to end up on. Honeslty , people's constant need to record things makes me not want to go anywhere with people, it's so annoying. You can't just have a private moment anymore, everything is subject to be recorded.

It’s worth noting this only happens in US. In Spain, for instance, you just can’t do that. You can film yourself and others BUT is not legal to distribute the content. The least you should do is to ask those filmed for permission and blurry their faces. The rule of thumb is “your rights ends where others rights start.”

I'm going to start building a gym in my garage. I am overweight and people like this make me super nervous and uncomfortable; I belong to a 'box' gym, like a commercial gym, not a private one, so the rules and 'consequences' of which there are usually none, don't really 'push' me to walk in.

If I ever encounter this at a gym I would whip out my phone and start recording while narrating how the other person is being a gym creep and give them the side eye right back. 😂

Every man has locked eyes with a woman he was interested in for 10+ seconds before. And at least one of those times he was getting ready to approach...and the woman's face quickly changed, she either snarled or stuck out her tongue, and rudely said "What are you looking at?" And that is when every man realized that extended ey contact doesn't mean she is interested. From that point on every man never approached unless there was extended eye contact and two or more other hints with at least one of them being an audible indication of mutual interest. Simply put...men aren't making a move on eye contact alone. You also have to be sitting on their lap, shoving your tongue down his throat, and telling him you like him.

When is this shit going to end? Why do these people think just because they are filming, it gives them total rights to that space? The entitlement is ridiculous!

have said it before, will say it again. Gyms, ban filming in your facilities. If certain people think they are entitled to film because they feel they are 'influencers' etc..... they can request permission that the staff of the facility help them. Its a private facilitiy hence they should be getting permission to film inside the facility. If the staff dont want to assist that person, then that person is welcome to take their inflated 'influencer' egos and leave, or maybe build their own gym and they can behave any which way they want in it.

When renting a space to create content for sale there is usually a greater charge. Gym's should start charging these "content creators" a larger fee or at least a percentage of "earnings." They can co-ordinate off hour times to film.

Very inconsiderate of that man. It reminds me of last week when I was filming myself doing farmer walks right in front of the dumbell rack, and all these inconsiderate clowns kept taking weights off the rack behind me. It ruined the whole video. All I needed was like 20 mins. But instead of having some basic humanity, they'd rather take the weights on and off the rack and hog up the entire dumbell area all for themselves.

Filming is the reason I just spent $$ on an all in one functional trainer. I don't mind people filming their workouts, it's how they react towards you for all the reasons you have given. Plus, filming in the locker room. I don't need to be labeled for looking in someone's direction while they are working out or I am grabbing some dumbbells.

I will never set foot in a gym because of filming, tik tokkers & youtubers ruin everything they touch.
