I dunno where u get ur examples from. Some r down right dumb sorry to say. If a loved one has gone missing and later returns, after the teary reunion, any sensible person would ask what happened before gathering TV stations attention.

@Chinweokwu Okeke So if she tells you your words were mean-spirited, it's because she's not willing to hear the truth? Couldn't you be accused of doing the same in your reaction to her reply? Also, we should remember when speaking the truth, it should be spoken in love. Calling someone's thoughts that they've shared dumb isn't sounding like there's love in that "truth". Finally, our opinion isn't automatically truth, it's our opinion.

As black women, we shouldn’t have to do “protective styles”, just to grow long hair and retain it. I feel like we haven’t found out the real reason yet lol. We are all still learning about our hair 🙏🏾

You're correct, one of my girls hair grows to her butt and she doesn't used protective styling. She also cuts 14 inches off due to flat ironing and her hair grew back out long and curly. Her daily ponytail and occasionally let it hangs loose down her back. I myself do braids because I don't have time to comb through my natural curls on a daily basic for work.

I can’t do finger detangling. My hair tangles and mats to easily. The secret is not to rip through your hair with a comb. I am not heavy handed at all. I am extremely gentle and have a very light touch when it comes to combing my hair. It works for me. Plus I always wet my hair with a spray bottle before combing each section. Never comb your hair while it’s dry.
@shernaturally
@shernaturally Год назад
Hmmmmm. I really believe you could still try finger detangling. You have to saturate the hair with water and conditioner. Try the Aussie Vera method too. I have a video about it on my channel. It gives great slip.
@Random.338
@Random.338 Год назад
@@shernaturally I tried that before and ended up with free formed locs that I had to comb out. I wet my hair before combing and am gentle and go slowly in tiny sections. I don’t lose as much hair as she does. And my hair is mid back length

@CoilyCode
@CoilyCode Год назад
Actually, you don’t want to comb the hair when it’s soaking wet. Hair is at its weakest when it’s wet. The hydrogen bond are broken when wet. So you’ll end up inflicting mechanical damage. The key with dry detangling is with oil.
@Random.338
@Random.338 Год назад
@@CoilyCode Not necessarily true. Hair snaps and breaks easier when combing while dry. I’m almost waist length with extremely thick hair. Trust me. When I used to comb it dry my hair kept breaking once I it got to collar bone length. Also oil is a sealant not a moisturizer.

This is true we as blacks should retain our length and finger detangle. Anyone who disagrees ask your self is your hair healthy or have thousands of split ends and does it stop at the neck?, if so then you should consider this method

@shernaturally

During the 3 months, I wash if it's needed. I'm always examining my hair to see what it needs. So yes if I feel like it needs to be wash washed in the braids I'm not afraid to do that.

Protective styling doesn’t mean you need to add synthetic hair. You can just braid your own hair and leave it for a week or two, wash, moisturize, rebraid.

Hi Portia. Those are the things I did. I didn't use a specific potion, oil, or mixture. I literally just find ways to keep most of the hair on my head once it grows out of my scalp.

Please I need your help. I watched lots of videos but not much about high porosity hair . once I keep my braids for almost two months they begin to lock and detangling is always stressful no matter how much patient I am not much length retention. Which hairstyle can I keep for 3 months please I need help.
@shernaturally
@shernaturally Год назад
Hi Joy! I am happy to hear that you are trying to keep your protective styles longer. That's a great start! If you experience lots of knots and tangles after two months, try keeping your protective styles in for one month instead. But it's important to spray with water and moisturize while your hair is in braids - regardless of how long you keep them. Moisturize and add butters and oil. It helps when it's time to remove the braids. Also, on the day when you're taking down your braids, wet your entire hair with water and conditioner BEFORE you start undoing the braids. And finger detangle with conditioner and water (several times if you can) before u go in with a comb. Those should help. But the most important thing is to know how long is too long for you. And if after two months you run into unmanageable issues, then it may be better to reduce the time you have the braids in.❤️🙃
@personmcdudeguy
@personmcdudeguy Год назад
Also what products are you using to put the braids in? Maybe using a generous amount of hair grease will help lubricate the hairs as much as possible.

protective style and I normally moisturize it always. If long term style works for u do it. If it doesn’t then just do short term. No matter what ur hair will still grow 😊

Hi, to de-tangle your hair mixed Shea Butter, Coconut oil, olive oil, Baby oil, Castor oil and Cantu leave in conditioner. (Or water) Massage into each Plat as you take it loose. Use only your fingers for de-tangling. Your hair wouldn't break. My hair is the same length as hers and it's no problem using this method. Good luck!

So in order to have long hair you have to basically hide and not touch your hair. Hair that looks like wool has to be treated like silk 😩👎🏽
@shernaturally
@shernaturally Год назад
🤣🤣🤣 that silk and wool example. I have thought about that soooo many times. Because it is a sad truth. Our hair which is like wool is so delicate, and if we want long hair we have to not touch it for long periods. At least until we reach our desired length. But even then, we still have to be careful or it will break off😩🤣🤣 lol story of our hair

Hi. Do u usually wear your hair in a tight bun at the back or on top of your head? Or do you usually wear tight braids? These are the styles that usually eat your corners away. There are similar ones too. Castor oil is great for hair loss. And onion juice. I can testify of both. Bit the best thing you can do is find ways to leave your corners. Don't brush them, don't put gel on them. Just put treatment and leave them alone. Mini braids work too because they can hide your corners without putting great stress on the hair. Hope these tips help.
