Happy 2024 Everyone!
Many of us have already been told or will be told at some point that we will "regret our childfree choice when we turn 40" ... as if a point of age is going to magically change our whole lives. Join me in todays discussion of it all and the related thoughts I have with it.

I'm a 42 year old childfree woman, and every year I'm happier than the last, and that is because I do what I love to do in life, so for me every day is a gift. As I get older I have more knoledge about life, more experience, more money, more free time and of course more things to conquer. I discovered my pasion early in life, when I was 16 years old and since then each day is a beautiful and exciting challenge to become better and better. I have a really great life, zero regrets and I'm totaly sure I don't want a kid.

It's too late to have a kid anyway. What are you conquering that's so important and life altering? None of it matters because you're not going to have anything you conquered to pass on to your offspring.

I don't like children, that's why I never wanted to have them. I'm tired to see parents abandon their children fisically or spiritually because they can't stand them, and for others being frustaded and sad because they just discovered they don't like to raise a child but they do it anyway because they are responsable people. And I decided many years ago that all my assets will go to a benefical cause related to animals. I'm really happy doing my business, I really like it every day, and the fact that it gave me money it's a natural consequence that is not so important to me, so it's sincerelly fine to me give all my money away when I die. You should avoid to judge people that think or act different from yourself. We all are in this world to be happy, it's intelligent to do the things that make you happy. Angry, frustated and sad people make coments like yours.

I eat what I want, when I want, sleep however long I need and those in my life appreciate my company and what we bring into each other's life. @@nattypatty3667 so infertile women aren't women? So women who can't have children due to the high risk of death aren't women? The 13-y3ar 0ld girl who gave birth is a woman? hah. You're a man. You don't get to determine what is a woman or what makes up a woman. Especially if you don't have to worry about the HUNDREDS of risks women have when they do get preggers and give birth(study on that buddy). And you're right I'm a girl. I'm a min0r. I'm not a woman until the age of 25 because that's when the frontal lobe fully develops. What is a woman? A woman is a person who has the ability to become any of these things/one of these things: A mother, sister, aunt, caretaker, a self sufficient HUMAN with the ability to care for themselves and make the right choice for THEMSELVES. What a person is isn't limited by the abilities given to them from birth. If that was so men shouldn't consider themselves protectors since they've never really protected anyone but themselves. Men can't consider themselves men since y'all don't even do any of the things you've been doing since the dawn of time. We ain't getting attacked 24/7 and y'all somehow fail to protect women from other men. Men ain't men then. Women have been giving birth and being caretakers since the dawn of time. I never wanted my own kids, but I am happy to be an aunt. Not alot of people talk about the role of aunts or uncles all that much as being important, but as a child I spent the majority of my early life with one of my aunts, since she was my caretaker while my mom worked. All four of my aunts were a big part of my life, actually. I never wanted kids of my own though, but I'm happy my brother did. I'm very close to his kids. It would have been ok either way, but he really wanted them and that was his path. The way I look at it is, in this life you have a certain path that is best suited for you, and you have to honor it. I always knew my path was not to have them, its just a strong feeling I had from early on.

I always wanted a child deeply in my childhood through my early to mid teens until I hit about 15-16 and actually began thinking about it and truly observed what that would mean for me, my lifestyle, my finances, my future (thought both with and without children and growing old) and came to the conclusion that I really didn't want children. Plus due to trauma I have an unhealthy fear of child birth anyway so if I even wanted children I would likely adopt. I'm 27 and never gave it a second thought ever again. I'm firm within my choice. I do hope to find love though. Some men in the past that I've associated with didn't really take my choice serious and were there for the ride until they realized I was serious or they took advantage of me in some way because I suppose to them a childfree woman is useless or maybe they thought child free also meant care free in all aspects. Either way it taught me that I need to find someone who truly and passionately doesn't want kids, where they have actually given it a lot of thought, and not someone who's so-so on the matter. I'm just thankful I have very supportive parents who didn't even give me a side eye. In fact, my mother was delighted and said "In this world currently I'm scared for the grand children I have, so more power to you."

Honestly, I'm (34F) so glad I took advantage of sterilization being fully covered by the Affordable Care Act before changes might affect it in the future (I was holding off for years because I wasn't able to comfortably afford $2k+ in medical expenses). That, and bilateral salpingectomy is the new standard. My doctor was willing to do the procedure for me as far back as when I was in my mid 20s, so I was very fortunate. I ended up finding out recently that I have Hashimoto's, which can negatively affect fertility and fetal development. So this further solidified my confidence in taking this step. To everyone that's tried to challenge my decision and said I was making a mistake, I'm sorry you feel that way. 😉

Still in my early 30s and I am honestly undecided on having kids. My husband of similar age as me think the same. With rising cost of living costs and how the society has gone haywire, makes us really doubt if we can really give better life to our so-called kids. Personally, I am quite concerned of my mental health and might drag my child along with my misery. Just nope. I'm okay with kids and I tolerate them really well but being a parent? Hmm. I hope people just mind their own business.

They said, the earth still spinning so does our life. I came in my mind that if I leave in this earth my life will end spinning like the earth but if you have a lineage or descendants your life will continue to spin creating chaos in this earth. As far as I believe people who have someone they leave behind they're not at rest, they still have concerns about people they love especially if it's their responsibility. I have two uncle's who doesn't have children, never dreamed about them but those who have, even they're still I alive I dremed of them with their children. I analyze what my dreamed about. It reminded me how their children was doing, their life and so on. And guess what, no regrets at all. I'm turning 35 y.o this year and I'm thankful I can die peacefully. I don't have to worry about a life that I'm responsible for their existence. A distraction of the planet, a consumer, a person to suffer and a puppet of the system. So, 🤷. Before I have sympathy with children and even adults that's in distressed or something that's disturbing to see but now, I lost it, 'cause we are all the same has human brain with cognitive thinking to analyze, to understand our situation. I was born in a family that's poor,( even my parents was born the same as they're now) constant fighting in our household, need to work helping them to make the ends meet. Even though my life now are better than I was before but then, there's no guarantee my offspring will continue the life that I will give to them. Mybe one or two will follow but what about the rest? Do I have to blame them for they're lazy or messed up? Just like my mother blaming my brother for he is not what she was expecting to be and a disappointment. I'm stupid in some area in life but not on this. I will always be guilty even I'm not with them anymore even the fourth generation and so on. I even said to my sister-in-law 'cause now they've issue with my brother, she should blamemy parents 'cause they're the reason he exist. Even my partner I told him, sorry I exist 'cause sometimes when my hormones spike in the different directions 🙆 😄. I don't care what they're going to say. Those people should worry about their children or maybe they're those people who just spawned and spread their legs without knowing the consequences.😃 "To each, their own". 😌 My apology, about my English. 🕊️♥️🍀

I strongly dislike kids and have since I was a kid myself. But I couldn’t live without knowing what it was like to have a kid. So I have my kids I love, and still, really strongly dislike other kids😂 But mine are like mini mes. And they are along the ride with us. They definitely don’t control any aspect of our lives, work does. I never wanted kids and hated the idea of that responsibility but changed my mind because I’m that person who has to try everything lol. Lots of people with kids look miserable to me and I can tell they probably wouldve been happier childfree. But I just had to share because I was repulsed by kids and said I’d never have them growing up, never babysat because ew. But here I am with 2 of my own and I want 2 more. Never in my life could I predict this. But I’m glad I never let the fears of having no life after kids in because literally my whole life I’ve heard “dont have kids it’ll ruin your life” For me that wasn’t the case. It had to been in some larger plan for me too because I am afraid to death of needles, drs etc and I had 2 easy pregnancies and 2 births that I can say hurt less than a paper cut. Never heard that from anyone else. Anyone elses birth story makes me wanna delete myself lmao

As much as I want to be childfree because I feel the stress and cost of a child would be too much for me, I do worry being old without kids or siblings. For instance I'm having to take care of a grandpa with pneumonia and if I wasnt here he'd probably be 1000x more miserable or dead at this point. When I'm his age I'll likely be alone. You shouldnt have kids and expect them to take care of you, but I'm sure having that lifeline is comforting

It's not wirth it having kids. I know many people who lost their jobs because of their kids. They were being great parents but we can't hold your position at work just because school called for whatever reason your kid got into. Then they can't work nights as they can't afford these babysitters, so it's a lot of people fighting and clawing the morning shifts and then, of course, half the morning shift can't make because of their kids. Basically, in order to have kids now, you have to go in debt getting a college degree just to afford to pay for someone else to watch your kids.

Great video, but I'm quite a bit confused as to why you said that it's "important to recognize" parents who are happy with parenthood. And why did you say that their experiences with us are "the most enlightening"? A lot of times, parents are undeniably happy with their lifestyle, but then they go to an egoistic extreme and insinuate and assume that "nobody's as happy as they are". And for the most part, they are not cheering us on from the sidelines, they're just invested in themselves, and couldn't care less about childfree people.

For woman 40 years is basically their fertility window closing. So there is almost no turning back after that. Plus, for woman to have children is biologically determined while for men it is not. So, the probability of regret is high. However if it is your decision there is nothing bad about it and you will not have regrets too, it is just most people lack accountability and the percent of this among the women is especially high and everybody knows that and warns about it.
