Team cherry supporting the game brings a ton of eyes from silksong waiters. This means that when we think of a metroidvania to play whilst we wait, pipsqueak may come to mind. The whole silksong community will obsess over this one donation so it's basically free marketing
I honestly think the only reason Team Cherry said something because Pipsqueak! Is also an: indie 2-D stylized Metroidvania, where you get to play as a small animal, who can equip charms to their body and can pogo of spikes, that also just so happens to be being made by a dev/team that lives in Adelaide south Australia, which also just so happens to be a recent Kickstarter campaign like as in the campaign is 2-3 days old as of my writing this comment. I strongly think if any of these details were even slightly different Team Cherry wouldn't have said anything.
Now that I think about it, I genuinely think they sent the message as an indirect way of them saying "Hey guys, LOOK, we are still out there, we still exist". This is a big hint. And am pretty sure they are intentionally avoiding any announcements/acknowledgements online, like Leth talking about the situation, is because there should be big news super soon. If they don't have any big news coming soon, Leth would have already said something about the game taking longer to release.

yo i played the game and its legit fucking fun! Its smooth, the movement feels good, the combat too, and the pixel art is wonderful! Yall should try out the demo

They logged on in February, April, May, and multiple times this month…. I don’t think it’s just to back other projects lol.

I just grabbed owl boy, was only 10 on eshop. I'm sure I'm still just in the tutorial area, but it's just not grabbing me. Not really feeling the combat style.
@doryymiller yeah, I'm taking a trip to middle of nowhere and was looking for something I could zone out into. I'll give it another try, cause a lot of intro areas are like that.
