Buy a cheap mora or 2, some stones and watch their and other, Vitruvoice sharpening vids and go for it on the Moras as they're cheap. Then once you've got it, do the BK2 is my advice. ATB.

V edge? Here i thought i knew most grind terms ik flat, and flat has many variations, including my favorite saber grind, theres scandi and convex and scapel, but what is v edge? Edit: Please dont mock, im new to this but im learning ;3

@@gamer.004a V edge usually will have a 1 to 3 mm single edge bevel on a plain edge/flat ground blade which will gradually taper down from the blade spine to the edge. it doesn't have a thick constant thickness stock down from the blade spin towards the edge like a scandi or slightly convexed blade which will have a larger bevel from there to the cutting edge usually a 3/8" to 1 1/2" grind depending on size of knife, blade stock thickness and grind eg nearly full convex to lower scandivex convex or scandi which will be anything from 22 to 15 deg. Angle per side determins grind depth in relation to blade stock thickness. Just watch some YT vids or blade design/types/geometry. ATB

Scandi, v, convex........it doesn't matter very much. It is all "mierenneuken" wich means "fucking an ant". It cuts or not, it holds an edge or not. In the end there is a difference but you will not come to that end. What you want when the chips are down is an edge that sharpens well in the field, not in the workplace. Everything else is just jerking of to knives.

If anyone doesn't want to want for a Malanika(I don't even think his books are open) and wants a puukko there are plenty of people on instagram. You just probably won't get the Cruwear option. I have a puukko from Saku Honkilahti in 80CRV2 and it carves amazingly well. Of course I haven't tried the Malanika in Cruwear yet but it's on the list

Love everything about those bark rivers. Especially the sheath. I have a blackjack 155 with that style sheath, I believe they are made by bark river(?) And it is a fantastic little knife in any pocket. Do those little bark rivers come with a magnet in the side of the sheath? Neat feature on the black jack

How much do you like the bark river canadian special (3V) my wood warrior's? I got mine a week ago and it is by far one of the best featherstickers and cutters i ever had - if you make it a little bit asymmetrical like wako from virtuovice does it. Thanks for the nice video guys :)

Have you guys tried D2 steel knives yet? I bought knives from cfk, and gcs, on Amazon. Not bad, I haven't realy had a chance to try them out yet, just wondering what your point of view would be on those types of knives and steel. I recommend also ontario knives, like the SP1, SP6, SP53, Rd6, ranger tanto, and the various other ontario knives, all on Amazon. Thanks for all the laughs and great knife and axe reviews.

Hi Bros I'm surprised you prefered the Garberg over the Jaakaripuukko I prefer the Kansbol (you never review this very interesting double grind blade and better handle) over the Garberg for normal tasks, not heavy duty : an excellent option in conjunction with a small hatchet

Hahahaha yea maybe in the future! We can say that the mora garberg carbon is a good choice! Does rust a little fast but if you look after is it won't be a prob. If you have the money we'd go for the benchmade! CPM 3v!!! But a little regrinding of the handle is needed!

Becker BK2 is good, but it’s not the greatest steel, 1095 CV, but BK 2 should be CPM3V😁

hey guys! according to this topic, im curious what are your opinions about utility knives.. imagine youre like year 1850 frontiers. you go into an unmapped area packing everything essential including a rifle/axe/saw/parang/shovel or whatewer.. you fight for overal weight of all the equipment youre about to carry, yet you expect some difficulties, so youd have to be able to sacrifice some of your stuff if needed. what will be your untouchable tool of choice (concidering the environment and possible needs to keep yourselves comfortable with it)? and if youd pick a knife, which one? thanks for your time, m
