You guys should definitely react to more beef history episodes, they’re so good. Also did you know ray Allen’s offence isn’t his defence? The more you know
I always felt that the hate and "Fuck Ray Allen" was completely unwarranted. Man literally sacrificed the most when the big 3 united and he was definitely the most unselfish out of all 3 stars.
It’s unwarranted when the Celtics do it but everyone in the world says fuck KD going to the warriors it’s the same thing both left to the rivals right after losing in the conference finals why is one unwarranted but the other isn’t
@@anddanny2263 I knew someone would say this dumb ass take Ray Allen was big part of the Celtics core the year prior and jumped ship to the team that eliminated him KD did the same thing people were all up in arms about it
I can’t rondo has more patient playmaking on essentially coaching on court whereas Westbrook is more off of driving and dishing or passing to a trailing player off a fastbreak for an easier finish
@@lotuslife3239 not in high school nor in college, Westbrook got to UCLA on the final day when everyone else was already recruited in 2005 while he got his letter in 2006. Rondo got his letter in January of 04 and was 5 in the nation. Westbrook wasn't even ranked in SoCal hence why he was called a fluke because those who were in SoCal high schools and colleges didn't know who he was at Leuzinger and definitely thought he was a reach at UCLA. For the record Chase Budinger was ahead in all the Californian prospects. So yes his NBA career has gone well and I hope he keeps that fire that propelled him here in the first place. However, I'll still know him as the guard who got to UCLA because Farmar left. Lastly I feel he's a great inspiration to tell kids who aren't looked at like James Harden and Jrue Holiday who were five star recruits, if you can't shoot as well but can find a niche and do it better than most you will find a spot in the pros. And keep working hard not will you overachieve your draft stock but you'll make it to one of many mountain tops. Now he only has one to achieve teamwise, individually there is one he should've won since he came into the association.
@@mattmannlvca i like to give Westbrook benefit of the doubt that he was 5'7 up until senior year so he couldnt really develop his game at the same level of guys like Rondo, Rose, Wall, etc. Who were full grown for most of high school. CJ McCullom was short like that too and had a growth spurt but CJ knew he wanted to play basketball from very young. Westbrook played with his best friend but only thought of it as a real career chance when his friend died and he got the growth spurt. Team player wise im sure Doc Rivers is the most overrated coach of all time and Rondo was basically the brains of the 08 Celtics, but individually i think it would be sad watching Rondo try to guard Westbrook 1 on 1. Difference in play though is Rondo is paid to set up teammates, he has never been a contract in which he had to be a main contributor on offense. From the beginning Westbrook has had to be a scorer too even with a bad shot. You dont get drafted 1st round to a team as bad as that and play like Rondo. No scorers outside of KD meant he had to basically slash and get the shit going from the beginning.
I don’t have a favorite team, but CP3 being my favorite player ever, and being a huge fan of the big 3 Celtics, I had the EXACT same reaction to hearing CP3 was about to be traded to Boston😭 WTF DOC!?!?
He actually tried to get Thabo Sefolosha traded numerous times. It was because Thabo would constantly criticize his effort on defense and poor shot selection which led to them nearly getting into a brawl during practice. I also made all of that shit up.
I’d like to point out that this is the 2nd deal that doc rivers fumbled the bag on. 1st was the potential Tim Duncan signing with the magic and now we find out CP3 could have been a Celtic and he said no to the deal 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️; I’m starting to think there’s more deals like these
Considering that the Wilt and Kareem beef video is my all-time favorite Solz and Sage reaction, this video made my day! Edit: Ayyyyy they promoted it at the end! Nice 😎
@@SilkyLew the first was magic and Kareem but I’m talking this era cuz a lot of people say Lebron and the heat is the first superteam and all but they forget this team was a team shaq and Kobe was too
Honestly Rondo and Allen are not as much the problem. It was the Celtics franchise. Never forget what they did to Isaiah Thomas. They don’t care about their players, they use them and throw them out. Ray was gonna leave before he becomes some kind of sob story.
Remember Doc also didn't get Tim Duncan in the Magic because he didn't allow his wife to travel with the team. 10 years from now we will find out he could have traded for Luka this season but decided not to because he is a fan of Barcelona xD
Rondo is just like Westbrook... except he won a ring in Boston...then got traded around... then won a ring with Lebron... Well shit, switch the order of the traded and the first ring and rondo is actually like Allen 💀💀💀
Rondo actually had a role in the NBA since high school, Westbrook is the fluke that overachieved and was lucky. The player Westbrook has most in common with is Darius Miles, and is a significant downgrade as a sixth man unlike Corey Maggette who could get you a bucket.
@@mattmannlvca so averaging triple double for multiple seasons winning multiple scoring titles a mvp and being a 10 pg is a fluke player you don’t have to like Russ shoot he not even my favorite player but a least give him he’s flowers dude
@@dre3607 how many shots did he take to get that scoring title and how many turnovers did he have when getting those ten assists. Oscar did it better and guys like JKidd did more without having to jack up 40 shots for 23 points. He's exactly what he's always been since high school a three star fluke, which is why he's been garbage since Houston.
Ray Allen aka Jesus Shuttleworth is my favorite player of all time growing up but when he left Boston that shit hurt bc he left for Miami ( the same team that beat us in 7 games in the ECF in 2012 ) but when you really look back , Ray Allen was involved in a lot of trade rumors around 2011 , the unsettling beef between him & rondo & the fact the Celtics gave my boy a 2 year mid exception contract didn't make that situation better .
The real question at the end isn't "wouild LeBron have gotten past a Chris Paul Celtics" team but rather would Chris Paul have stayed healthy by the time that series actually happened?
I'm a lifelong Celtics fan and I always understood why Ray left and why he disliked Rondo, especially once more of the behind the scenes stuff came out about their time together. I just didn't like that Ray went to Miami. Ray will always be one of my favorites.
@@Bigedub101 exactly! He got pegged as the bad guy when he tried to get Rondo to solve his issues with Doc. It’s pretty unfair when Ray was trying to keep them all together.
I knew since he was on UK that Rondo's character was off. I remember telling my dawg, who was a die hard UK fan, that Rondo was shady. He couldn't see it coming from the sticks of UK but me coming from the hood saw it clear as day.
Rondo is my favourite player of all time. Rondo hated Ray because Ray saw him as a little brother, instead of Rondo who wanted to be side by side with the whole big 3. Ticket and Pierce treated him like their equal, while Ray wanted to mentor him, which Rondo didn’t want. Eventually Ray turned his back on the Celtics and saved LeBrons legacy lmao
When did Russ threaten teammates, divide a locker room, take all the credit for something and throw shit during meetings? When did Russ damn near take a nap during a game as a temper tantrum?
Doc could've also got Tim freaking Duncan when he was the coach of the magic to pair with tmac but it fell through cause they wouldn't allow tim to bring his fam on team flights or some bs like that
The Celtics used to play two preseason games at the old Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester New Hampshire.. I was there rondos preseason debut.. I remember thinking why did we draft this point guard who can't shoot and isn't good on defense and only a short while later did rondo make me look foolish. I miss our big 3 days..
