Capulet89 whatever he gets, it's not enough :P My favourite bit is when he makes that Duergar in Tiberius's water orb commit suicide by chanting that he's ugly XD
What's even better is that Sam initially picked the character by asking Matt what the worst possible combination he could think of was. The enemy's days were gnome bard.
It took me forever to remember where this was from. At first I thought this was the Vorugal fight but that's the old background. It didn't look like that when they fought him. It took me seeing Felicia to remember when this was. On that note, however, I do believe that Felicia did great in this and she should come back again on the stream
[1:00] *"You leave, when Burt Reynolds tell you to leave!"_ --* While understandable why they did not use it (licensing/reference conflicts), It is a still a pity they could not have used the exact line in [Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina (2022) animated series], in [LoVM 2x11 - "The Belly of the Beast"]. Thanks for uploading this, *Drew Peterson.* :)
My first twi 5e, characters were a paladin and a fighter, both played at the same time, then I moved to a cleric tried very briefly a soceror, but then I tried a bard, first a bard/ warlock now a bard/ cleric. Not only am I having tremendous fun with the bard, but I am finding it a lot easier to come up with character concepts for Bards. That my group seems to enjoy me playing a bard also helps. Sam showed, with the right spell selection, the right feats and a good amount of humor, bards are far from the worst class. Add Dorian Storm to the mix and CR really showcases this class well.
He still had to roll a +10. It's a skill check without proficiency, and bards get Jack of all Trades; he can put half his proficiency on any roll that doesn't has it already. Just like initiative.
No, counterspell is a spell with a casting time of "reaction" and a range of 60' so it uses the same mechanic as an attack of opportunity but it doesn't require the feat. Warcaster feat allows you to cast other spells as attacks of opportunity so the enemy has to be leaving melee range to trigger. Edit: range is 60'
It's partially an inside joke, and partially just random nonsense. At one point, Scanlan used a fake badge and a mustache to convince members of the clasp that he was a customs inspector, rolled a fucking natural 20 on Deception. thus the Burt Reynolds persona was conceived. He later used it again to get Keyleth and Tiberius out of jail
And on my seventeenth rewatching(Because I'm bored as hell) I say Sam should've gotten extra points for making Matthew crack up. Apparently that's hard to do.
It's an insdide joke of Scanlan/Vox Machina. He (Scanlan) somtimes identifies himself as "Burt Reynolds attorney at small" when trying to decieve some NPCs. He even got some business cards with the Burt Reynolds moustache on them. www.critrolestats.com/blog/the-inimitable-burt-reynolds
