Well, the man is multi talented. Not much of a surprise! But his strong suit really is writing, cause goddamn the mother games are so good from a humor and story standpoint, and that’s all thanks to Itoi.
I know this song is from this game, but do we count the songs from the first game as "Earthboundy?" I don't think songs like the one in Jeff's dorm should count
Behold, the mythical journey, of Stank, Bells, Brain, and Boy, and their dog Dunky. Stank also loves to eat noodle. Edit: and during his fight with Giygas when all hope was lost he was saved by none else than Stank2
1:00 this part always takes me back to that weekend when I rode my bicycle to the game store, saw a giant game box at the top of the shelf with Earthbound written on it, and curiosity made me rent the game knowing absolutely nothing about it, and it ended being my favorite Snes game ever.
Sadly I just played the game on switch cuz: 1. I heard it was good and 2. I played it before but left it as I got dis encouraged at onett. But when I played the entire thing and going through it thinking it’s gonna be alright I started to LOVE it in the 2nd half.
@@kingofbel6499 idk. Objectively speaking. Each Mother game is equal. Mother 3 may have such a depressing story. But it doesn’t really mean its better. Much like The 2 other games before it, They all have a great story to tell with their themes. In reality, from Mother 1, Mother 2, and Mother 3. They are all equal, with the only thing being gameplay.
@@redshell9205 emulation is not complicated, but it is risky. And if you want to not be risky? You have to buy one of those cartridge reader things, and those are complicated for people who are new. Don't be afraid to try new things though, taking a risk is almost always a part of growing and learning. Dang didn't mean to go philosophical there
Alright, I definitely wasn't expecting them to bring this back just for the like 30 seconds you spend inputting your actual name when Tony calls you in Summers.
Love the sound that sounds like random scattered chatter and noise. Pretty indescribable but it really encompasses the vibe and quality of all mainline SNES games and their soundtracks
@nah bro Sick man, literally music samplers back in the day the same way people like to do it today. Except today it's trendy to compress samples, back then they had no choice haha
"Name him." Bless "Name her, too." Power "Name your friend." Left "Name another friend." Pee "What's your favorite homemade cooking?" Steak "What's your favorite thing?" Gaming "Are you sure?" ▶Yes No *WOW!* WOW! Wow! Wow Wow wow wow
It's weird, I remember when I was in my mother's womb and this music were playing while my parents were choosing a name for me, and when I was born it sound a much weirder sound like: ""WOW!"
For ppl asking what the voice says, it says "Ok desu ka?" Which literally means "it's okay?". Later on in SSB series Ness says in his taunt "Ok Desu" which means "It's okay" as an answer for the question
The entering noise is one of the many great parts of this segment of the game. You haven't even started yet, but the music and atmosphere is absolutely amazing!
Hah, I found this comment again when it has 69 likes, my favorite number. Nice. IT'S A SIGN, FROM THE [goods] THAT [there's more!] More what? I have no idea.
It blows my mind that the Monty Python theme is hidden in this song. I became an Earthbound AND a Monty Python fan in 1995-1996, so it's just damn eerie -- subliminal.
@@JohnLucPicard98 i know this is a year ago but , just in case you're still waiting for an answer, it's the part at the beginning that sounds like random chatter. if you listen closely to that part, you can hear it.
Ok so I literally started playing earthbound for the first time this weekend and me and my brother spent a good 15 mins deciding on funny names for anyone. My highlights is that we called the main guy Kanye, the dog Bread and one of our best friends Roblo (there wasn't enough room for the X)
I got to known to monty python thanks to this soundtrack. Thanks, Itoi for the eerieness feelings when you sampled the intro of that song. (RIP Chapman and Jones, You two will never forgotten by the fans.)
I started playing this game for the first time on my Switch recently and it’s definitely odd, in a good way. It’s definitely not like other Super Nintendo games
"Name him" "Name her too" "Name your friend" "Name another friend" "Name your pet" "What is your favorite homemade meal?" "What is your favorite thing?"
I first heard this on a Roblox game (Blamo) when I was younger. When I heard it a few weeks ago when I started Earthbound, I was glad to know where it came from!
For reference, the gradually slowed down sample you hear is from John Philip Sousa's "The Liberty March", more popularly known as the theme song from Monty Python's Flying Circus. So glad this game was made before the age of aggressive copyright law.
I recently got earthbound on a weird gaming device that had like a 1000 pre-installed games like Earthbound, Pokemon FireRed, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario(the first game), and many more on it. It was my first playthrough about 28 years later. So might as well share what I named everything: "Name him": Ness "Name her": Paula "Name your friend": Jake "Name another friend": Timmy "Favorie Food?": Pasta "Name your pet": Doggo "Your favorite thing?": Sports
When I played EarthBound these were the names I made: Ness is Noah Paula is Ai Jeff is Yu Poo is Hero King is Penny Steak is Donut Rocking is Love Were they cool names?
Simon is the name of one of my best friends but my real name is Noah so I made Ness Noah. I named Paula Ai to be like the girl named Ai from the animal crossing movie. (yes it exists) Jeff is Yu which is the name of the boy Yu from the AC movie again. (look it up it's an adorable movie) Poo is Hero because not only does it fit in my opinion but also Hero is one of my smash mains. King is Penny to be the name of my IRL dog Penny. I actually have a lot of favourite foods so it was hard naming it but... I just went with donuts. And I care for Nature and Life in the world so the first time I beat EarthBound it was Nature but I am beating the game again and changed the name to Love because I love Mother3. I love the Mother series as a whole.
Names based on the pokemon anime: Ash Misty Brock Max Pika Ramen Catchn Names based on Mario Bros: Mario Peach Luigi Toad Yoshi Pasta Gaming Custom names: Alex Alysa Eric Ranma Spot Cake Love Other custom names: Billy Cindy James Kaiba Rover Pie Comics
