Being a successful businessman doesn’t mean his name will give a health product credibility. Y’all act like this is Shark Tank US. Sorry but these people’s names aren’t even as well known as, say, Mark Cuban or Lori Grenier. Daymond is Touker’s equivalent and he wouldn’t say some mess like that. So yeah at the end of the day, he question was valid. “Who is Touker and why would I buy his smoothie?” The health product that was formulated by hand by a doctor has more credibility than a rich businessman who decided on a whim to market his daily breakfast to the masses.

You've spent months or years developing your product, you've got dreams of making it big, you've put everything on the line, you firmly believe in your product....and someone crushes that dream with a single remark. I can imagine it's tough to handle that, so your first reaction would be a defensive one. Perhaps you'll come to realise that the Dragons were right, but it takes time to deprogram yourself.

@@Flup2 The thing is, the criticism that the dragons are giving is usually about aspects that the owner should have realised before coming in.

This is a classic example of someone that really should stick to their day job. Some people, because they are highly qualified and successful in their own field, assume they are therefore qualified and smart enough for other fields such as business and product marketing. The thing is he doesn't even know that he doesn't know - and he's not even willing to listen to advice from people that DO know!

I thought he came across as very articulate, but lacked the basic business acumen and marketing knowledge. He obviously believed what he was doing was right, that doesn't mean he has a personality problem. It's a bit like saying, anyone who has a difference of opinion is arrogant. He wasn't rude, abrasive or condescending towards the dragons. Unfortunately, he's not cut out for business.

@@uncleiroh2668 no, they aren't, they study nutrition and dietics for at least four years, doctors study medicine for five. Nutritionists and dieticians are "less qualified" but more specialised, and know more than doctors do about what humans should be eating (in hospitals when people need to eat certain foods this is determined by the dietician)

I disagree, a doctor will certainly be qualified to "prescribe" the correct quantities of nutrients that a normal, otherwise healthy person, needs from their food. Specialists might be needed in medical conditions where the quantities required change. But my main reason for commenting is that 'dietician' is a protected term. You need to be qualified to call yourself that, but not so with 'nutritionist'. Anyone can call themselves that, and if they do what they're saying is "I have no qualifications in this field but I think I know best, and I'm prepared to mislead you about my level of expertise".
