Yu Darvish struck out 12 Giants batters, an early season high, to earn the win on April 30, 2021. He showed six different pitches for third strikes, including three strikeouts apiece on his slider and sinker. Darvish's 49 strikeouts set a club record for the most by a Padres pitcher through their first six starts with the team.

The announcers can’t even keep up with Yu’s pitch variety. He threw a 95mph two seamer and they called it a 4 seam. That thing moved like CRAZY!

Idk if hes using pine tar, but I can tell that he is been struggling for a couple seasons then all of a sudden, hes one of the top pitchers in mlb. We didnt see his progress of getting better. It was just all of a sudden. So its very strange.

The guydestroyed it and did amazing the same day they did random inspections on him so maybe not. Also wasn't most of the times when he was struggling due to surgeries and injuries.

He is a good pitcher but never forget he got destroyed by my Astros in the 2017 WS game 3 astros hit four runs on him and in game 7 they hit 5 runs in just two innings dodgers didn’t get cheated out they got out scored and out struck plain and simple truth Houston Astro’s will forever be your 2017 world champion
