Now that we know how much disdain they hold for "-eyes" monsters that aren't red or blue, you gotta make them suffer through more insane "-eyes" cards ;P
just for trashing galaxy eyes, there should be a "Revenge of the galaxy-eyes" round with - Galaxy Eyes Photon Lord - Super Galaxy Eyes Buster Dragon - Galaxy Eyes Cipher X Dragon - Neo Galaxy Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon If they think Galaxy eyes is bad, wait until they see how many of these there are.
For clarification of the Zubaba/Gagaga/Gogogo/Dododo cards: These words specifically are onomatopeia, words that represent sound (like how baa is the sound a sheep makes in English.) So a lot of these cards just don't translate well from Japanese to English. And I feel like that's true for a fair amount of cards, too.
@@astralguardian5930I play retro Yugioh games like Sacred Cards and Forbidden Memories so I have a borderline photographic memory of early Yugioh cards
Actually, Detonate destroys specifically "Kuriboh" and not Kuriboh cards so it can only destroy tokens and original Kuriboh so your activation was an illegal play. Judge?
“ga” is the japanese onomatopoeia for a physical impact hence all of the gagaga monster (including the magicians) atk things physically “gogogo” is the japanese onomatopoeia for a menacing atmosphere like in the jojo memes hence all of the monsters are physically imposing in design “zuba” is the japanese onomatopoeia for cutting/slicing which is why all of the zubaba monster carries blades except for buster but hes specifically a ‘buster’ variant of zubaba knight who does have a sword “dododo” is the japanese onomatopoeia for something “thumping” hence all of the monster looks like theyre really heavy so their footsteps ‘thumps’ when they take a step… except for dododo witch
Something I find funny is that Gagaga comes from the sound of a physical impact, which means the archetype which I believe is mostly spellcasters is made up of muscle wizards
Man, I felt bad for them on round 3, because Ascension Dragon - The Grand Design was obviously the most ridiculous, which was clearly the bait, and I knew that because I have seen all 3 of the others dealing with AI-controlled decks in YGO video games.
It doesn't help that some cards in Yu-gi-oh do actually have names like "Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus Sky Thunder" or "DDDD Super Dimensional Sovereign Emperor Zero Paradox"
Alright there definitely should be an "eyes dragon" round to piss Tyler off even more. Snake-eyes Odd-eyes Googly-eyes Hundred-eyes Beast-eyes All-eyes Deep-eyes Brave-eyes Maybe even multiple rounds since there's so many of them.
Thank you for throwing in some of Yuma's cards from Zexal. His deck archetype of onomatopoeia cards always have me reeling with humor when people guess if they are real or not.
Just to clarify the gagagas and dododos of it all - they're all japanese onomatopeias. So "gagaga" is basically the japanese equivalent of "POW!" or "BAM!", for example. They're mostly meant to be ironic, since gagagas are all spellcasters despite having a name that's the sound of punching & kicking. Reason why they didn't just translate "gagaga" to "POW!" or something similar is because it's an anime deck and the english dub needed to sync the translated card names to the characters' lips... which is basically impossible to do with names like "dododo" unless you just don't bother translating/localizing the name.
also did you really make this video to shit on zexal? It's one of the most popular ygo shows both in japans and among fans, its poor reception in the EU/US was solely due to the awful dub, and even beyond that Kaito has always been by far its most popular character.
As someone that plays current yugioh and really likes it, I do still love this series cuz it's hilarious. The anger also it makes it that much more hilarious cuz the things you guys hate I love lmao.
You can have adorable forest critters aided by the spirit of Spring play hide and seek against Lovecraftian horrors in this game. (Melffy + Vernusylph and the Entity archetype). We can have online personalities that fight crime against beasts that are the embodiment of fear (Live Twins and Scareclaw. I love it. I'm sticking to my birds that rides dragons though
"It's from Yugioh Zexal which is one of the worst rated ygo series" - maybe in the west. Japan loved Zexal, it's one of their most popular ygo shows lol.
I'm such a dork I always know the answers to like all of your guys quizzes (Sans palworld and spectrobes) but knowing the answers makes this so much funnier
@@randomcatname7792 Sadly, the changed Flaccid Pancake. It's now Limp Viscuit. Although the jury's out on whether they'll keep Filthy Acts for a Reasonable Price if Steel Ball Run get animated.
@@mystikx2205 Flaccid Pancake was the main reason I suggested this idea along with D4C’s awful mouthful. Still mad the anime changed it I was so ready to hear the characters say that stupid name in such a serious situation.
9:39 Here's the thing: Zexal WAS one of the worst-rated Yu-Gi-Oh series... when it came out. With time, however, people have warmed up to it A LOT and it is now widely considered a contender for the best series in the franchise.
as far as im aware such sentiment is only on the west because of its initial tone and character design, its an immensely popular yugioh series in japan
I don't think Zexal was ever unpopular in Japan. I think that it wasn't well recieved in English speaking regions is because the dub ramped up the goofy, comedic vibes of Part 1 (I don't think they had the outline about how dark and serious the second half of Part 1 and all of Part 2 would be) and it ruined the perception of the series.
So, while levels indeed only naturally go up to 12... There are some crazy stuff like (Takes a deep breath) Chaos Imaginary Number 1000 : Hollow Light Spirit of Delusion - Numeronius Numeronia and Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon who are both XYZ Monsters, Rank 13. If you for some reason are crazy enough to want to XYZ Summon them, you need five Level 13 Monsters on the board
Or galaxy queens light, a support card to a promo to a McDonald's exclusive archetype, which allows you to go to presumably the bit integer limit or higher in paper play
Suggestion: Monster Rancher cos it jas the most weirdly normal names of any monster game yet theyre all COMPLETELY wrong. This show's got basic ass names like Tiger but somehow its a blue unicorn wolf lol.
I was literally between credence of ancestor and ants running about because I've never heard of either. I went with ants running about for the same reason it wasn't picked by the other contestants. I also swear that I simultaneously thought "if I'm wrong and this is a rush duel card, then that's kinda cheating." Rush duels sometimes feature spoofs of TCG cards so that was why I suspected that. My surprise when he admits people might consider that inclusion a cheat lol
Video idea: Hand the three stooges the link to the yugioh database and have THEM make a yugioh quiz for the 1 (forgot his name, been here for like a few weeks).
You gotta get the revenge of the -Eyes dragons. Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon, Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, Googly-Eyes Drum Dragon, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.. you got OPTIONS.
the zubaba and whatever cards are part of a type called onomatopia which is a play on the word onomatopoeia, because they represent the written out onomatopoeia in manga, like how in some comics there's a kaboom sound effect, lots of manga do stuff like gagaga for sound effects
The "cheating" ant quiz one was the only one I failed because I've never played Rush Duel, though I knew there was a good chance I was wrong in the 50/50.
As a guy who plays a weird amount of Yugioh, yes, Yugioh does suck. Thats the beauty of it. Winning games with the dumbest bullshit of themes for my cards will never get old
As a onomatopeia player saying that all of them are part of the arctype is a lie when all the cards they have are for gagaga and Zubaba and dododo have 0 synergy.
@@megaspacewaffles Nah nah nah, link monsters are clearly the only issue Ojamas had. I can't fill their board if they just have a special Ojama exclusion zone that I can't shove Ojamas into. My gameplan is otherwise perfect, you gotta believe me.
In my experience, the format they were introduced in absolutely throttled everything else because you HAD to interact with and play with Link monsters to functionally summon from the extra deck. Bad mechanic, rerouted the entire gameplay loop.
@@MitchFromFBS They actually slowed down the game not speed it up. They were designed to put the extra deck summons in check. So they for sure didn’t speed it up. Now a days you don’t have to play them. They just have options to decks that couldn’t XYZ or Synchro summon
i feel like a format change could be make everyone write down the answer first since i feel like everyone gets too influenced over people picking an option first and changing their minds.
