Honestly, I think this is when Konami really showed is more like Komoney. XYZs and Synchros were kinda living together, and they banned all the synchro strategies while not caring about the meta, forcing players to buy XYZ product to stay relevant.

This was one weird time for the game. I truly believe this format was the catalyst for the TCG and OCG splitting off their banlists

My brother was subbed to Jump at the time Shock Master was a promo. They sent him two copies of it by mistake.

I remember that banlist. We were furious with it! Konami clearly wanted to push new product around and completely kill off old strategies. I was playing agents for the rest of the Zexal era despite the limit on Earth. I just wanted to play more with the T.G. engine....

I love this format as it was the first time I got into yugioh. The Dragons Collide structure deck was the first yugioh cards I ever got. My dad bought them for me when we went to Walmart.

This banlist is when I quit playing in person Met lil Wayne at the mat traveling during this format and placed top 32 in my first regional with hero’s same day

TeleDAD may have only been accessible to a moneyed few during an historic economic recession, but at least it's fun to play as a retro format since it's only got the one deck and all of the cards have been reprinted several times over in various rarities since. Conversely, this one is uniquely terrible among quasi-diverse formats not only for its lack of accessibility during the time that it was played, but for cementing Konami's viscous cycle of pushing increasingly busted archetypes on the players only to ban them months later, rinsing and repeating. Thereby prompting the player-supported Goat Format renaissance to commence in June of this year - a format that was widely reviled by players at the time for having been tier 0 back when it was played IRL.

I think that the list that allowed Sixth Sense is probably the most controversial ban list lol
