Thanks for posting both of these. Been watching the few of these MP40 videos that exist to make sure I was at least getting all the features of the original YYZ. Had to buy A (mint) 2005 GL CIJ Fender Jazz because my Ibanez SR500 with active electronics clashed horribly with the pedal, I hated it. (good excuse but true)
Firstly I wouldn't waste your money on a GL sig - a decent MIM Jazz would do a way better job. But secondly, what on earth made you think an active Ibanez SR would sound even vaguely like?

In fairness, the GL limited edition series (and the GL signature model, both by Fender obviously) have been universally panned by most - apparently the necks are awful and prone to serious intonation issues along with fret buzz and dead zones and the electronics aren't up to scratch but the worst thing on them is the quality of the pickups.
With the boost yeah. Way clearer and agressive (or not). I prefer that to all the darkglass pedal I have try for the moment, it got a nice clean with low end bump and punch and the drive is perfect for me
