Burn I’m trying to get Focal Clear and Adi-2 DAC when I can. Wonder if anything gonna be better haha. Impressed by Clear at local store !!!

Was thinking about getting the Clears first, but quite a few people seem to dislike the ADI-2 DAC for these and recommend something like Violectric amps, as they scale better with a seperate amp.

I've only heard the one. So I'd direct that at ZMF themselves.

@@life_in_solace they are on the website. Their descriptions didn't really make any sense and I thought Z might know.

Those Auteur's are Cocobolo's. They're warmer and more lush sounding. Blackwood sounds very similar. Teak and Silk sound close to each other and have a more neutral sound.

I don't know where he gets his music from, but I know where I get my quality music from. I just spend time researching on movie/game/anime composers that I like (their discographies), audiofile music artists, well recorded classical pieces etc. After you know exactly what you want, there are tons of places where you can download them from, like Google Play Music. But the key element here is to spend time on researching stuff to listen. You won't get a collection of thousands of melodies that you like entirely in 5 minutes.

@Gray Au That $1600 sennheiser is made of chinese plastic by a megacorporation on an assembly line. If anything It's amazing that ZMF can put out far better products at the same cost. I agree with you on the cables, but people that think they matter think higher cost equals better sound. If they're gonna buy 'em anyway, wouldn't you want to be the guy selling them? I've worked for the world's two largest corporations in two separate tech industries. One is worth $50 billion, and another probably over a trillion by now. We spent insane amounts of money engineering, testing etc. Did that make our products better than 3 guys bootstrapping an operation out of their garage? Almost never. Big companies mean overhead and waste, and you as the consumer pay for that. With smaller companies you're far more likely to pay for materials and craftsmanship. That's completely been my experience with ZMF and I've only ever bought pads from them. The guy took time out of his day to talk to me personally for $90 in business when he obviously has much more important things to do. It's one thing to say that you think they're too expensive, but you're shitting all over Zach's character with no information to substantiate your claims.

@Gray Au Exactly one guy is devoting his time to making an excellent product. Not a massproduced piece of plastic but actual quality materials. The number of changes made make the headphones a whole new headphone. They are beyond heavily modified and WOOD! Wood is used. You got it backwards on this one.

I thought it got pretentious on the XO labels and up.

That can happen with anything. They work great for me and measure great via calibrated mics too.

@Hersey Berry I've never had traditional "wormwood (I think)" absinthe with mild psychotropic properties. But I've had what you can get in the states. Very strong, always more than 100 proof, and too licoricey for me. Psychotropics and headphones go together like milk and cookies though. It's just MWAAA then Zeos noises
