Thank you very much for giving such a great explanation! Zak has been such an incredible leader and role model on our team. It was horrifying to watch him go through this! The out pouring of love and support and the complete fa〽️ily mentality of our Wolverine team will get him thru! Team 144 really is a brotherhood! This injury is devastating to everyone who loves and cheers Zak and the 〽️🏈 on, but if it was going to happen, thank God it happened on OUR OWN FIELD, where he would be to the University of Michigan in minutes and be treated by the TOP Drs in the nation. Thanks for posting this. When you say “It could have been way worse,” are you specifically referring to a torn ACL/MCL type of knee injury?

I had a very similar fracture. It was at the time called a Boot Top Fracture. I was told this was a more common fracture when ski boots were not as rigid or as tall and skiers would fracture both. I was lucky and neither bone went compound. But total recovery was about 6 months.

I'm old enough to remember watching the network repeat showing the Joe Theismann fx over, and over, and over again. It's strange how in today's TV network climate, vulgar language is routinely acceptable, but these injuries are.....out of bounds for the audience to be repeated even once? I appreciate showing us what you could.....assessing the 'mechanism of injury' has always been a priority in my viewing sports injuries

You need to look at the NJ Devils Jonas Siegenthaler fractured foot, or Dougie Hamilton’s pectoral muscle injury which required surgery

I wish him a full recovery regardless of diagnosis. However I wonder the legality or the regulation regarding releasing medical information to NCAA for a player who will no longer play. Views on RU-vid aren’t great, however if initial impact was mid shaft or proximal to mid shaft, it’s likely ACL/MCL may have been involved. I wonder if UofM is calling it a fracture as not to hurt his NFL draft stock? Regardless, I wish him a full recovery.

They did a "Joe Theisman" on him would've been pretty clear to everyone. LOL. It was pretty obvious when they cut to commercial and one trainer was holding the knee and the other the foot and they were not even close to lined up. I can't imagine the pain.
