Hey, this is amazing! I just want to confirm... I just bought a Red Epic Dragon, but the footage I'm seeing on RU-vid is so varied. Most things suck, this looks amazing. I just want to make sure this is the same model. Is yours the dsmc1 model Red Epic X Dragon 6k? I go back and forth between regretting ordering it, and being super excited looking at videos like yours haha. Please help :)
Hey dude, I appreciaate the compliment! The Epic Dragon sensor is amazing, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Lots of people get caught up with the latest and greatest but if you don't need 8k and super high frame rates, the Dragon is great. Enjoy your new camera!
Thanks for that man! People's feedback is so all over the place, it's a scary purchase seeing as the camera is 6 years old. I was considering the Raven in the same price range for the DSMC2 body, but apparently the original Epic Dragon is better than it on paper (not so much in the videos I'm seeing on average from both). I'm seeing DSMC2 Scarlet-W's around the same price range on ebay as well, and people are saying that's a better option for the long term because of upgrade paths apparently. What helped you decide to go the Epic Dragon route? And did you get the DSMC 1 or 2 Epic Dragon? If you could get both for the same price range, would you still go DSMC1 Epic Dragon or DSMC2 Scarlet-W?
@@jameswrhymer I actually don't own the camera...borrowed it for this. Epic Dragon is better than Raven for sure. I'd go DSMC2 if I were to buy one though...but with that said the dsmc1 is more than sufficient. Don't worry you'll love the camera. Stop watching comparison videos and just shoot with it!
