The touchbar is a nice gimmick and spot on about Asus there. I can see this secondary screen having literally millions of uses if they have a decent api to develop for it that is.
詹旭聪 no the touchbar isnt more practical, but frankly i dont have a problem either with it. it isnt good but not bad either. however having a screen as trackpad would certainly be bad for me since i cant feel clicks. however if apple did this they may be able to add force touch to the screen to make it a really good trackpad
they cant invent it, someone else already did. oh, you meant copy. yes, apple knows how to copy. apple is for idiots with money whom cant operate a pc.
Looks super useful for keeping an eye on a terminal window that doesn't need frequent interaction. Really hope other companies incorporate this because now that I've seen it, it just seems like an obvious feature. Good job Asus. In regards to the Apple Touchbar comparison, this feature does seem more useful. However having both on one laptop would be cool.
Or just use your phone? Which everyone has... or just split the screen on your laptop? Which most OS can do now... Or just use your tablet? Which a hell of a lot of people have... Or just use your other computer? Which a hall of a lot of people have...
This could a life saver for developer while they are traveling.. We could just keep the terminal down in the trackpad and the program up top... That would save so many tab switches
the mini screen is ideal for students who can keep their heads down towards the desk while writing notes, instead of having to look up at the monitor constantly.
Wazi Mwotaji there must be a toggle button on the keyboard that shifts it from a touch screen to a regular trackpad without clearing what's being displayed.
It is a touchscreen for calculator and adobe premiere and stuff, a mouse trackpad for regular use and just a screen for watching videos. It has toggles for all that and you can combine them, like the video-trackpad.
@@u9477 Strange symptoms! What specialist should I see? Watch first: 4 weeks ago 1 2 last: 4 weeks ago User #853696 22 posts Christine19 I'm new here, please be nice whrl.pl/RfXWKX herring | anchor posted 2019-Nov-17, 9:24 pm O.P. I have had food stuck in my throat/food pipe feeling for over 6 months. It sometimes causes chest and back pain too. Seen 2 ENT specialist. Did 1 gastroscopy. Nothing’s been found. No reflux either. I remembered a few years ago I had similar symptoms for a few months and had coughed out some thing like a crab shell of the size of a finger nail, then the symptom resolved. This time I tried to cough it up, but was not able to. My GP does not know what specialist I should see. Have someone experienced anything similar?
Came for the laptop review, stayed for the calm down personality. Good job! This will be my next laptop. I can't get enough display area, running different streams or videos.
Neat for programming. Not revolutionary or anything but definitely neat and could be useful if you're webdeving. You can keep the code on either screen and the browser in the opposite screen.
If you're actively making changes on the html or css or js of a page and don't want to tab back and forth between pages I could see it being useful then. Or if you game dev you can set up the little screen to display the game when you want to do test runs of a certain scene or whatever. Just depends on how you want to approach it.
I really like that second screen in the touchpad. There are many times in the past where this could have been useful for me. This might become my new laptop when I replace my current one.
This is really cool for streaming on Twitch. You can stream your content on the big screen and chat on the small trackpad. I would buy it if I had money.
Still using the i7 version until now. The screenpad is still working. Very useful for light entertainment, extra screen space, and file managing stuff. Also, I bought a pen MP2.0 so I can draw on the main screen.
"Yo dawg, We heard you like laptop screens... So we put a laptop screen inside the laptop with another screen to be a laptop screen" - Pimp My Laptop😂😂😂
i think Dave showed us that it can be useful with applications like that.. In the video he showed the "screenpad" turned into color palletes from Adobe Premiere
Yeah I noticed that now. Would be great too if it could act as a small wacom type surface. Would be great to use a stylus on it for photoshop from time to time.
Thumbs up for Dr Lupo! I immediately thought that this could work for twitch by having the chat in the touchpad while the main screen is your game and obviously using a mouse for the game.
2:03 "Two screens in front of you, I mean that would be ideal but that`s never gonna happen on a laptop anytime soon." Here we are 1 year later with the ZenBook Pro Duo.
vikas negi This comment and the one that got a lot of likes were posted at nearly the same time lol. Besides, how can you tell his intentions from just a comment? You can't just assume he did it for likes, you have no evidence other than your own assumptions.
I've accidentally commented the same as others way later than just 2 hours, and I'm glad I deleted mine once I saw theirs to avoid accusations like yours. Yay
Yeah, I don't understand whats the problem with this brightness now. Or everyone obsession with this for a while now. I live on a very bright place, and I've almost never had to crank up my brightness to max. And products now days that some youtuber claim to be 'less bright than' I've check them out, or own some. That I find them to be blindingly bright at max. Maybe not pointing 1000W worth of light would help.
Wow that small screen can be really useful for painting! Kinda like the surface dial but you can use that screen for choosing colors and stroke size etc.
I already do things like this, except with my phone and connecting my MacBook’s keyboard & trackpad to my Surface with third party programs like Synergy. To have a touchpad that “just does” all the stuff I’d had to complicatedly setup is amazing.
I was really expecting this thing to be super gimmicky. but after seeing it, i think that's one of the coolest features I've ever seen. I think razer tried doing something similar on one of their laptops by implementing a second screen, but it was not nearly as well done as this. i really think this is something the average person could use and enjoy.
As an engineering student, the calculator app would be immensely helpful. Hopefully other manufacturers take on this concept instead of going for gimmicks like bezeless displays and whatnot.
Well, okay, it's kind of a pain knowing that a PRO DEVICE doesn't have easily upgradeable RAM but there's..not much of a point to it? Content creation normally doesn't involve exceeding 16GB of RAM--you're not hosting your server on that thing, are you?--and normally RAM shouldn't be replaced. In fact, you shouldn't replace RAM unless a. you don't have enough, which is pretty unlikely as per my argument earlier and/or b. the chips are bad and need to be changed. It's not that big of a deal. And to be frank, if you need more RAM/CPU power/storage than THIS, you're better off doing your work on a dedicated desktop!
This concept is far more better than others...but the application which it requires has to be develop for that small secondary display ....it will be the game changer
I remember watching this video when I bought the Zenbook Pro 15 about two years ago. It was terrible, bug-ridden and I've had multiple hardware issues. Now that it broke again, ironically RU-vid recommended me this video again. No Dave. I'm not falling for it again. 😅 😭
Yeah, I have the UX550GE (the one-screen version) and so badly optimized if you're running it at 4K. Games must be in "exclusive fullscreen" when you run them at a lower resolution, otherwise they lag in windowed fullscreen mode. Lightroom and Vegas suffer from hiccups as well. Something's wrong with the audio as well as often it crackles unless I reset the audio sample rate at 16bit 48kHz. Did you have issues with HDMI? Mine isn't working properly and flickers/turns black so I've been using an external HDMI hub lately. The recent Windows updates seemed to have screwed things over as well like my fingerprint unlock doesn't always work or I get a black screen waking from sleep mode unless I do a soft reset.
I love this idea I think it's a great way to utilise space better is it a little gimmicky yes but I could see it being extremely useful for all sorts of things hope this becomes a trend and more companies use this idea
I think they should one up that, and make the entire area below the keyboard an ultrawide touch display. That would allow me to mimic my desktop setup.
Just search for Sharp Mebius. Released 10 years ago. Ahead of its time, of course. My friends, it is very interesting how there's a time for everything. I really like this Asus and it can be useful in this day of age. The concept is not completely new, it's just time for it to shine.
i thinks its really useful when watching movie and the same time chatting with others on little screen and same like when you playing games instead minimizing game and than opening again and again the social sites makes you tired that is really a cool idea.
Best use for me would be with streaming on-the-go. I could play games in full screen and put the chat on the secondary display, or I could play games windowed with the chat next to it and OBS on the secondary display. Might be a bit too small for that kind of functionality, but it is definitely an idea.
That secondary screen seems great for something like Web development where you can put your console down on the bottom or even your coding software while previewing the website Lawn the primary screen
Stélio Inácio nokia had touchscreen and bendable phones in 2007, but they didnt suceed. Who does it better gets the credit. And that includes tech ahead of its time.
I've been using Apple laptops/MacBook since they first introduced the Intell chip. The most useful aspect of the ASUS touchpad; would be the potential ability to sign documents, such as pdf's with Acrobat Pro.
So what's the point of this? To suck more battery life? Why would I use it to watch videos? lol I'd rather use my phone if that's the case. This gimmick is pretty cool to look at but that's about it.
Didn't you see it has calendar calc which is really handy and limitless possibilities why one will watch video on track pad if he has primary 4k display .
