Zero DS/DSR Rear Shock Removal

How to remove a rear shock from a 2015-2020 Zero DS or DSR. May be very similar to older models (2013/2014) and/or the S/SR models as well.
Tools needed:
Scissor jack
T45 torx or 6mm hex key (seat removal)
3mm hex key
5mm hex key
10mm socket
15mm combo or ratcheting wrench
17mm combo or ratcheting wrench
ratchets and extensions

saved my ass- I could NOT reason a way to get that top bolt out of the shock.

Have some trouble to remove the screw from the lower shock mount. Nut is of but screw is very tight. Can rotate the screw with the tool but needs lot of power. Using two days WD40 doesn't help. It's not possible to get the screw out. Any tips for me?

Sounds like it's still under some tension? I talk about raising/lowering the height of the bike vs the rear wheel starting at 3:40, if it's too high or too low there will be too much tension on the bolt, you need to find the sweet spot where it's loose.

@@GregHassler no no ... there's no tension on the connection of swingarm and shock mount. Both is fully disconnected from the bike. But the screw is stuck in the sleeve of the damper.

@@zerodschannel I don't know what would cause that, you might have to punch it out from the opposite side. The shock mount on the swingarm is just two metal tabs that stick up, there's little they could do to retain the bolt.
