Test drove one 2 years ago and it blew my mind....scary fast! Instant torque almost makes you feel like the handlebars are jump out of your hands it you twist the throttle too much.

I've owned a S P100D for awhile. I just got a 2017 DSR without any accessories and I LOVE it. My hand built softail rarely is rode. I never worry about range because my life does not have the free time I would need to drive too far. I'm picky, but this Zero company is too. Like a Tesla it is made with California quality, all I have to do is twist my wrist and smile. I've done the math, it only costs .8 cents per mile for me. Nowhere in my life can that deal be beat. So, I bought one at Boondox Motors in Michigan. Ride safe all!🌞

not bad. a friend of mine has one of these. only does the 110 charge tho. 9 ish hours to get E to F. that j1772 tank thing is a must in my mind.

It would be cool if you could add saddlebag batteries for longer trips. Just rent them for the weekend or whatever and use regular range around town. It would also allow more miles per minute of charging on said longer trips.

I was really hoping that you would go a little bit more in depth on the different models that they have and show the charge point and features of the bikes. Maybe in the future you could do a better video on the different models and real range

Great video Guys. I am an huge believer in electric motorcycles my wife and I own 7 electric motorcycles and 6 of them are Zeros or built with Zero parts. A small miss print in the video The DSR like you were showing has 116ft-lbs torque and 70hp. :)

As a person who owns a zero sr 13.3 (2016) model, the major flaw as I live in the middle east (Dubai) is that in summer where Temperatures hit 40c+ (manufacturers say its not good for the battery), and I have to stop the bike in cold area for around 4-5 months till it goes down to good ranges. But overall, if you live in area where temperatures doesn't hit 40c its the best daily commuter(although it hits the pocket very hard as hard to import to the middle east). Hope zero come up with a solution fix with the heat issue , as I ride all year round. And may all rider and people have a pleasant day.

The Zero pome app and belt drive features I mentioned to them when developing them. Have a look at app. Some one has built a battery pack out of Tesla’s cells. May be next battery pack iteration.

So cool. I'm thinking about it. Don't really care about price. Gas isn't a big expense when it comes to a motorcycle. Range is the biggest issue and it's getting pretty good.

I like where electric bikes are headed. Can't see myself getting one soon because of the range but it will get there.

My perspective as a owner, I have a Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle with 6500 miles on it and a Zero S, both have pros and cons, the Zero feels plastic-ish more like a scooter, the range of the battery is a B- and the spawn life of the battery pack a C-, You cant find a screw for Zero nobody sale parts except some accessories you have to end in the dealer for anything no other option. Now the good facts, is fun? yes, fast? yes, light weight? yes. You can full charge the battery for less than a Dollar big A++ giving you roughly a compassion of 500 miles per gallon is an unbelievable level of economy ridiculous, direct drive no clutch no gears is another A+, how fast? 0 to 60 in around 2.3 seconds is absolutely ridiculous, A++ right there. There you have was my opinion as a owner or one, you judge if is good for you or not. Ride safe.

For me the range is fine, range is not the issue the way its charged is. If it could use the standard public charging infrastructure at 50kwh charging rate then I would have one in a heart beat.

definitely needs much more range. I like to goto biker rallies out of town nearly 200 miles a few times a summer, plus others further.

Its a test drive people, relax! The comments are always filled with people commenting on the no riding gear. Let. it. go. Everyone rides bikes for the sense of freedom and that comes with dangers. That sense of freedom is a scale which correlates with the amount of danger. I think its wild that some people don't wear helmets but its not like I don't understand why. If you want to be safer drive a car. Stop judging cause you are being 5% safer than the next guy.

I saw a Tesla Model 3 Performance Model today but he was going to slow so I couldn’t take any pictures as we were in carpool :(. It had a Model 3 badge not in chrome and red calipers in the wheels.

Magic number for me is 500km range with electric bike in Canada. This would at least get me to another major city with juice to spare.

Does breaking not charge your battery in this motorcycle? how are both highway and city fuel consumption rates not the same here?

Cool bike. Rider needs to learn to wear motorcycle gear. Capris and a muscle shirt won’t help much in a crash.

wish they could do 50kw charging, would be perfect. But heard they had issues with the standard and dropped the plan to add it.

I have tried this bike and its amazing. However it cost about twice as much as a comparable ICE bike so it takes a long time to get a lower TCO. Charging speed could also be a bit faster.

Where is the clothing for a biker? Gloves, protective jacket, trouser and boots? It might be warm and you might not want to use leather clothing anyway, but there are enough options even for warm weather. A crash on a bike is always without a protective cage. Where is the comment that you do not have to switch the gear? How to charge it (etc.)? Is it a model that you can remove and carry the battery (which I needed and was only an option then, that cost extra). Please, we all know that you can do better than that, especially protective clothing. =)

Starting price of a zero dsr is not $10,995! Even two years ago.

I think it's great, you should do all things EV. Time to do a YT search for EV motor home. (Even if it turns up conversions that's cool).

Doing 143 km only, that take around 1 hour then waiting 2h to recharge... it's a 50 km/h average for a little trip... I will wait for shorter recharge and longer autonomy before buying that...

The silence might help your situational awareness for dangers that are out of your view. Very interesting But motorcycles are STILL way more risky than cars cause there's no physical barriers on your vehicle to protect your body. I still see MCs as not being practical within a city(too dangerous for my tastes) but great for getting out of the city and into the country. Eveyone has a different opinion obviously but thats just me . Maybe I have this pov cause I've already got adult kids and will have grandkids too.

Dirtric Bikes: I have been waiting for a good electric bike design for quite a while. Remember when Electric cars first made their debut, they were criticized for looking like golf carts? likewise, why do all these electric bikes look like hybrid sport or cruiser dirt bikes?

If i cant go out and get lost on a bike, then whats the point? No range, no game.

A number of people have commented on this already, but all riders need to visit hospital ER rooms when motorcycle riders have been involved in a spill or collision. It's beyond brutal. Without proper clothing, you are running a huge risk of horrible suffering.

Why not test the manufacturers claims of range and charging times rather than relying on what ever bull their sales department gives you?

Of course we like motorcycles. And I personally hope we would have electric models to choose from in the not so distant future, hopefully a Tesla motorcycle when Elon sort out those worries he’s got about it.
