Thanks Amanda❣️I recently got more interested in micronutrients over macros, since I feel awesome as being vegan 👌 This video helps me a lot! I would love to see this type of videos like a series 😍
Could you do a video on vitamins and minerals that are commonly ignored but are essential to have? For example, there’s a lot of focus on calcium, omega 6 and omega 3’s, but not a lot of focus on selenium. Thanks!
100g of wheat germ has 12.3mg of zinc. Super easy to add to food and is cheap at most supermarkets. It tastes and looks like breadcrumbs. I add it to yogurt, pasta, lasagna, oats, smoothies, you name it. Also a great source spermidine - a naturally occurring polyamine that elicits geroprotection and autophagy - which slows aging.
Hi loved this video! Felt like I learnt so much! I’m vegan now, love it. Please do more of these types, like focusing on minerals and nutrients that are informational and how vegans can eat them. Sending love xx
The first wealth is Health. -Ralph Waldo Emerson Hello my little Apples! Hope you enjoy learning a lil more about this important little micronutrient Zinc. Make sure to like, subscribe, and turn on notifications so you know when the RECIPE video will be up :) Sending you all love!
Hey Amanda, I really like this style of video! If you could do more videos on the common "deficiencies" in a vegan diet (i.e. B12, D, iron, etc.) that would be super helpful! Thank you :) Ps. I love your channel!!
9:26 which 2006 study are you referring to? Just to clarify I would not eat animal products even if the absorption was better. The last paper in your list is a comparative study and it seems like vegetarian diets are on average deficient in zinc. And that does not even take into account cutting all animal products. Also worth a mention that the zinc deficiency hits men harder. On the one hand cause we need more and on the other cause it influences testosterone levels which in turn can have a bunch of adverse effects.
This was such a helpful video! I hope this turns into a series :) I'd love to hear more about the minerals iron and calcium on a vegan diet. Sometimes you hear a lot of mixed opinions on how to incorporate them into your diet. Love from Berlin
Phytates are almost completely removed through the cooking process! And since we nearly always cook our legumes/grains, phytic acid is really a non-issue. The phytates that do survive the cooking process are actually linked to cancer prevention :) All of this info via Dr. Michael Greger as well as Brenda Davis, RD and many other well respected nutrition experts.
i tried taking zinc, followed the right dosage but had to stop because my chest started feeling numb. i think i should've consulted with a doctor first but consultation is not included in my health insurance and it's expensive. :(
Little apples? I’m sorry but it is so annoying when you tubers call their viewers little apples, earthlings, my beautiful friends etc etc. No need for that...it sounds corny or like some ppl call it “cringe” lol
