they're probably very aware how broken these cards are. it's just that printing broken cards and banning them later makes more money than never printing them in the first place

The new ecclesia card is insane too, a cyber dragon lvl 4 tuner that can tribute itself to summen any Xianjiang from deck. What the fuck. Oh, and the lvl 6 that can get himself out by discarding a wyrm or Xianjiang to get out a lvl 10.

I think the idea behind Boarbow needing 5 was so it could gain the attack of 5 Zoodiac monsters for its direct attack

Boarbow gives you zeus for free.

It's the top dog right now over in the ocg because you aren't xeno-locked just synchro-locked, you can end on stuff like baroness of the fleur and both their level 8 and level 10 for 1 omni-negate, 2 banishes, 1 effect negation and with their archetypal icarus attack a pop 2

And make it that after using it's effect, that you can only special summon dragons for the turn

That sounds like it would become useless and not see any play (I may be wrong I'm not that versed in the competitive stuff)

Dragon-normal might do it, since I do remember Galaxy serpent being used in the past, but would shift the target to halq since it is a normal dragon tuner and halq would be better to make at that point

I still seen the meme of the Drident with like 15 material on it from time to time and it still hurts....... Not only do I have to watch you loop the same combo for 15 mins but I don't even get to play afterwards.

Break my board and recover after beatdown Is stupid on combo deck, combo deck from the beginning to 2016 are mostly high risk high ceilings like infernity, nowadays? Dragon link can recover after getting blown one by topdecking, that's ridiculous. Current deck like tribrigade can do that.

Then it's still a better version of MX-Saber Invoker and Invoker is banned so i don't think that would solve the problem

Question would it kill the deck if all the XYZ had a HOPT where you could only use either the Summon effect or the on field effect that turn but not both

@@dmaster4282 i think it would kill the deck completely because Zoodiac strong point is swarming their XYZ and use their effects to make field impact. If they can't use their effects the turn they alternative summon then you just end your turn with a monster with mediocre stats that could be destroyed by the opponent before they can actually do something (maybe except Drident because she has spell speed 2 effect).

@Richard Sejour Still i think is more balanced that way since you have to activate the effect You can play a little against and around a dragoon. But with a raigeki break your opponent only needs to summon and then you can disrupt their play. Still both are broken.

@Richard Sejour The real problem is being quick effect. An omninegate is only viable when is quick effect. Even there not all cards can negate a summon. Most people call omninegates effects that only negates activable effects. Dragoon is an example of this type of "omninegates". Still dragoon has other effect that during your main phase you can destroy one monster in your opponet's side of the field. If that effect would be a quick effect that card would be banned right now because with that effect you can just disrupt your opponet's play as soon as he summon a monster. With a omninegate your opponet needs to activate the effect of a card (monster o backrow) so you can bait it at least. That is why masterpeace is still banned in the tcg: is a good boss monster that can be easily summon and can be inmune to 2/3 of cards of the game and can in quick effect destroy any card on the field at the cost of removing from play 1 spell/trap card from your GY. Is not as good as dragoon and is still banned.

Thats the real reason, it was to restrain the power of zoo-tri brigade by limiting it access to zeus

Tri doesn't really lose much with drident gone tho. It had other really strong plays

@@sammydray5919 Sure it has other strong plays, but with Trident it has those plays + Trident. There's a reason why it was the most popular Beasts engine to run. And even without Trident people still play the Zoos, albeit it's not as good anymore.

Broadbull and Ratpier were the problem cards really, with Barrage pulling double duty. Drident and Chakanine could've just been Limited, and the problem would've mostly been solved.

@@melffyrabby1009 there was no design philosophy behind pepe. Pepe was a mistake. Konami just didn't test the cards properly and 2 dozen cards from a dozen different sets released across 2 years just happened to create the most powerful deck in the history of the game.

I know you're being sarcastic, but it is a legitimate downside, it just heavily depends on what they're limited TO, mainly because the different Types are incredibly Lop-sided. Fish-Type is nowhere near the power of Dragon-Type for example, that's the whole reason Elpy is even that broken. Really, the main Problem is that Konami keeps making this Effect for Types instead of just Archetype-specific, because this immediately makes certain Cards less splashable.

Well, I even thought why did they smoked to release a card like AA ZEUS.

ZEUS as a card is an odd idea ot begin with much like Needlefiber did for synchros that card is gonna eventually cripple its entire summon mechanic.

What's easier than 2 level 4s? How about just being able to use a single Zoodiac of any level.

Broadbull can be brought out by one zodiac monster. Zoodiacs are very splash able and bull has way more search targets than imp not to mention beast warrior has inherently more support and overall usage than reptiles currently
