Zuko Madikane takes DA to court over advert of burning SA flag

The DA has been taken to court over its controversial flag-burning advertisement. Zuko Madikane has asked the Gauteng High Court to declare the DA to be in gross violation of sections of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act 4 of 2000. The party commissioned the advert which depicts the country’s national flag in flames.
Madikane speaks to Aldrin Sampear.

Yes, the D.A. was wrong, but taking them to court over burning a paper flag. Why is he not taking the ANC to court for South Africans' rights that's not met. Here, our people starving of hunger, unemployment, and people being killed and trafficked every day. That's very important issues thats affecting South Africans. A sober mind, will not focus more on who's opening the case, but will focus on the case itself, Zuko's cases are his, burning of the National Flag is DA's, and Madikane is invited here to talk about the case he has opened against the DA. The DA that's insulting us who will be voting for any of those three parties, of which it will form a coalition with one of those parties later, and this burning of the flag will have a distorted meaning then!

News Africa yoj need to approach this case in the same scrutiny in both sides. You failed to get Zile to qualify her statement. @@ProcaviaCapensis-ts8ub I know, I'm not trying to own land, unlike capitalists who are obsessed about ownership I don't mind a 99-year lease. I and many of us who are working in agriculture don't necessarily want to own the land, as long as we can be given access to increase our output, we are happy. We've also recently met some young agriculture graduates that are not concerned about land ownership but would appreciate a long-term lease of the land.

@@biko8229 You're going to have to wait a very long time before you get given a free lease . The EFF may decide not to give away leases for free anyway. They'll want to fill up the coffers. In the meantime , I suggest that you work towards either buying your own piece of land or leasing land from either the State or a private farmer. There is quite a bit of trade so that shouldn't be too difficult. Like the rest of us , it just takes money and you can get what you want.
