I avoid any of these channels on delivery/expediting/hauling apps that come off like "get rich quick" commercials. They're an automatic red flag. I like the "no bullchit" channels like this one. Thanks again.
Just subbed! I'm a concept artist in the video game industry for 24 years. Been looking into expediting to make extra money and I can relate wholeheartedly to the problem of "low bidders" because I've done contract artwork/freelancing and a lot of the times, you get lowballed because too many artists are willing to work for pennies WHILE whining about how much they're getting lowballed. And I'm like "If you lame bishes stop accepting chitty $$ then these companies will stop lowballing us, you 1di0ts!" Anyhow, that IS frustrating. I went back to fulltime work. But I like learning about this business and thank you and a few other guys like you giving "straight shooter" inside tips on expediting. Much appreciated.
With the Mercedes Sprinter 170wb extended being able to haul 4 pallets worth it over the transit being able to hold 3? In all your years have you missed out on freight with 4 pallets?
Anyone reading this stop wasting your money on mentorship/classes.... EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO GET INTO THIS INDUSTRY CAN BE LEARNED ON RU-vid AND THE INTERNET... youll realize once you get started after wasting your money that it could have been saved.. Do your homework and dont be lazy trying to get easy answers. Been a broker for 7 years and usually theres eb and flows in the markets one year for the customer one year for the drivers but recently its been so bad... All the major brokerages are laying off 30-40% of their workforce. Also customers during the pandemic got shafted on rates and now they're in recoup mode and branching out working with sometimes up to 50 brokers. Also do not be scared to call or go in person and work with customers directly... Saving the customer money and cutting out all the middle men. This industry requires thinking outside the box and problem solving or you will not make it.
"Good Services" the Brokerage guys is always looking for cheap carriers not 4 "good service" - broker is cover with insurance for any bad service. Don't work with lower rates, please.
What would you do if you show up to the shipper and the load is hazmat paint, 800lbs, and no one told you, and you’d not have bid the load had you known it was hazmat. Would you still force the driver to load or would you tell the broker and refuse the load?
Mannn !!! thank you brotha for the great insight and your genuine advice. Yes I have seen toooo many guys on the Mentor$hip programs and shit. Hopefullyn see you on the road sir thank you.
You went from a cargo van to a high roof. Exactly what i want to do because it only makes more sense, just like you said. Now, my question to you is, what is the fuel consumption now with the high roof compared to the cargo van you had before?? I’m getting about 22MPG highway on my current chevy express and I heard that these high roofs can get 12-14MPG. Is that accurate, do you remember what you were getting before?
So, guys and girls, here’s the bottom line for me right now: PROFIT MARGIN. If you are fortunate enough to get a good van “cheap” for cash or very, very low payments, you can can definitely make a little money in expediting, even in this over saturated market with rates cut in half compared with 2022 and early 2023. Otherwise, don’t expect to make a worthwhile profit or any profit, if you have a significant car note, coupled with rising fuel and food prices, etc. You’re also, likely, in pretty good shape if you’ve been in the expediting game for at least 5 or 6 years and, like EAGLE EXPRESS and others, such as EVERYTHING APAX, you have managed your money to allow funds to get through the leaner times. You’re good for the long haul, no pun intended. The end of last year and all of this year, thus far, the loads my carrier has won for me have been slim to none. It’s been a horrible year so far for 2024. Basically one okay run and then I’d be stuck for 5 to 7 days before the next load. In January, I started DOOR DASHING wherever I was stuck, primarily to earn food and fuel money. By March, I was being offered mostly “junk” runs, that would leave nothing or actually be in the negative, after they take their 25%, deduct insurances, etc. So, I haven’t done any OTR in about 3 weeks. What I have been doing an hour from home is DOOR DASHING full time. Guess what? The PROFIT MARGIN is far better! Instead of picking up heavy freight after deadheading 150 to 300 miles to pick it up and then driving 600 to 1000 or more miles, all the fuel and wear and tear on the van and very little sleep, just to keep maybe $400… I easily make $200 to $250 a day, sometimes $300/day from Thursday through Sunday. Only driving around 200 miles a day, using $35 to $40 of diesel. AND I get 6 hours of sleep every night, staying overnight in the van to save using fuel commuting back and forth from home. In a few weeks, as the tourist season ramps up at a nearby beach town, some other DASHERS have told me that, between 6PM and midnight or 1 AM, Thursday through Sunday, you can make $400 (or more). And I don’t have to give up 25%, no long drives, no sleepless nights, etc, etc. And the money is available IMMEDIATELY. No waiting until the following Friday for a settlement to be deposited. Please understand that this is strictly a “bridge” hustle to get us to a new, better, profitable situation. I just never imagined that DOOR DASH is so lucrative. And for as long as I’m able to drive, I will always use it to grab additional income.
You obviously don’t care about your followers political preferences. Bad talking the Biden administration is offensive to me as his supporter. Could you leave politics aside or leave my subscription aside?, Choose quickly
Not just less loads but a big increase in canceled loads. I think one reason is when a load is booked another broker will tell the shipper they will do it for less and cancel the load
I had to hop back in the semi. I can't compete with .65 miles. It was costing me .45 mile to operate. I've been following u for a long time and u are the most genuine
I just bought a 2023 Ford Transit 350 for my business and I was also looking at all the other options. I drove a Chevy Express for years never had any major issues with it but Chevy don’t make no transit, promaster or Sprinter type truck so I went with the Ford Transit. I had a Mercedes Sprinter at my previous employer but had tranny slipping issues on it early on and all services on these were extremely expensive. I also have a lot of friends that have the Transit and they say they’re great work trucks.
I have a important question ...how do you keep you self safe from being robbed. Can you have a gun driving across state lines...do you carry pepper spray knifes...
Thanks for the videos. Im considering this. Single 57. Sleep average is 4 to 6 a day. Good driving record. Diabetic couldn't get in a truck. How i found out Diabetes tested 344 sugar. Under control now with shots. Maintain 109 to 135.. healthy other wise.
Hi we have a sprinter van and we've never done any delivery, expediting, carrier jobs. Lately we have been out of work and we want to put our sprinter to work. But we don't know. How can you help me with this please?
You can tell when people are a little slow in the brain upstairs. He think every truck driver is going to listen to his videos. He should be complaining to the highway an road crew to make a third lane. He just a little slow y'all got to excuse he.
