That guard is strange. He's supposed to make sure no one can enter. instead he chucks bombs at children.

I can imagine this would be the scenario. Link: (Fires his slingshot at the window) Guard: (Looks out the window) Hey, you! Don't cause any trouble! (Tosses a bomb at Link, then walks away) Wait, wasn't there something I was supposed to do to that kid? Meh, I'm sure it's not important. Back to my duties.

You can! wen I was younger my brother found da weh in the cassle. First 1st) you need to win all the trophies (duh) Then 2nd) you need a blue sheel 3ree) go on the ramp where the cassle is and be 1st place 5th) go off ramp but aim at the mountin and and then fire the sheel and it'll hit you higher than normal but since youre in the air and moveing off the ramp you will go over the mountin but into the cassle door. 6th you also have to be mario Peach will then meet u at the cassle and door and give u a hidden trophy. It looks like Super Mario 64 room too.

Back in the days of my childhood, I always used to wonder and dream about reaching these inaccessible areas, imagining what they looked like or what was there. Of course once I got older and started being able to 'hack' into such areas, while also understanding game design, that sense of wonder was admittedly lost. Nowadays if an area is inaccessible, I already know that there's a good chance that there will be literally nothing there, or if there is, it will be broken and 'unfinished'.

6:30 the map you are seeing is Fossil Canyon, which is the first thing I thought of, as Horseshoe Gulch reminded me of the very last turn of that track. The intro cinematic has wizpig running through that turn in the very last scene. A weird coincidence or a hint that Horseshoe Gulch was never meant to be playable which is why it isn't even a circuit.

The horseshoe map on Diddy Kong Racing may had been a test map for corner turning when I think about it. It is possible they changed Hot Top Volcano design so players start using other vehicles. If I recall, it would had made all the maps on Dino Domain all car based if they didn't. I would presume they scrapped the water battle map with Dark Water Beach so there are more structures to play on. The scrapped map looked very basic and most likely easy to third party snipe other players with rockets. If I recall reading somewhere. The hub select island isn't the same island loaded in the intro cutscene. They are actually 2 separate maps.

I was just rewatching the 2014 AGDQ GoldenEye speedrun you did with Bass Boost. About a decade on, and while that's a long time, it was a great time. I was actually in intense pain during that AGDQ and would get my wisdom teeth taken out shortly afterwards. That's only partially why I remember it so fondly. Anyway, glad to see you still keeping this shit alive. Someone else might, but they'd do a terrible job.

Oh man, that balcony part in TWINE would have been a perfect addition to the (in my opinion: sensational) multiplayer. Imagine the staircase and the elevator, which I remeber to be two-storey, have an additional exit on the first floor leading to this balcony and rooms, giving you the option to aim down on other players being in the big room beneath you. Man, I miss TWINE multiplayer. Such great matches. We used to hang some cardboard piece as a wall between P1&3 and P2&4 over our TV to avoid screen-peaking... with those great maps, that made for some incredible matches.

Like the idea of this! Reminded me of something from when I was younger. There's a demo disc of Metroid Prime 2 that has a section of elevated walkway where some enemies come from and two doors on either side of it... I always wondered what was outside of those doors. Probably nothing, but I was never able to find a way to noclip up there or anything.

For a more specific explanation for why the floor in the room behind Zelda is solid, it's because Ganondorf is an actor in that scene, like Link and Zelda are, and the floor needed to be solid for the kneeling scene or he would have just fallen through the floor like anything else that would hypothetically be introduced into that room. The other rooms are never meant to be more than essentially just background flavor, so putting a floor there was pointless and it was better to not make the floor solid to save memory space for other parts of the game, but the throne room needed a solid floor for Ganondorf because he's moving. The half-rendered guards are fine though because they don't do anything. They wouldn't fall through the floor.

Would love to see more videos like this; the N64 was practically my whole life as a kid, so you’re doing what I could’ve only dreamed of doing then. Also, my guess is for the monitor in TWINE, it might’ve been one of those placeholder items that, when trying to remove it, caused a huge break elsewhere, so they just kept it there to not mess with the code. Many such cases; would be fun to hear confirmation or otherwise from a dev on the game, assuming they’re still around and remember. Xb

If you code or glitch adult link in zeldas garden with the beta quest title screen mode, you'll find the triforce just floating out of bonds in the very center but under neathe of the garden. You can not get it and it's actually an off screen asset. Apparently this map is connected to sky at the end of the game when zelda sends link back with the ocarina, and during the cutscene the triforce loads in on his hand. When I first saw I was like "!!! I FOUND THE TRIFORCE !!" But nah. Its just a cutscene asset ready to be loaded in.

My theory as to why pokemon still spawn in professor oaks cabin pond is that maybe the spawning function of the pokemon in the first place is connected to the animation of the apple and not separate or dependent on the location itself. Meaning, possibly the pokemon spawn is an animation extension of the animation of the apple being thrown.

The map was designed very deliberately by the game developers with their vision of how ancient Hyrule looked. They even rendered ancient Hyrule in the cutscenes. I wish we got to see more of ancient Hyrule and it was a missed opportunity to not just transfer us to the past instead of re-using BOTW map. Lastly, in the art book, the ancient Hyrule castle was more of a pyramid structure vs the castle -like structure in the ancient room

My guess on the broken computer in the unreachable room: There's a computer on the main desk downstairs. My giess is that its destructa le. Amd, to acheive that effect, they switch out the broken one for the one on the desk when you damage it. If so, it's just stored somewhere convienent that the player is inlikely to see. Perhaps it needed to be on a floor to work, so they made the room fully rendered. Or perhaps the room alrwady jad a working floor, so that's why they used it.

You flew around Oak's cabin but I was disappointed you didn't actually go INSIDE it. I know we can pretty much see thru the windows but... still.

I'm all for more forbidden Zelda locations, on condition you ease up fidgeting with the Z button: I was starting to get motion sickness watching that segment 😅. Thanks for the video Goose.

is it known if the room where the cut scene for the first boss in OoT is the boss room or are you teleported to a new room once the cutscene plays?

I feel the reason Pokemon spawn there is they intended for the player to continue on farther then thought about the Oak in counter after an forgot to remove the spawn just my best guess

There are no need for floor for the guard throwing bombs because he's too a fake model. And if you pay attention you might notice that he is not animated, he just gets rotated. I think I saw that in a Karl Jobst video, not sure.
