You were landing some Top Fish I have been Surf Fishing for 50 years and have never busted a Rod and with the line your breaking strain is not strong enough and your line quality doesn’t seem good enough I have never been broken off Surf Fishing. Regards Laurie. Tight Lines.
I’ve watched hours upon hours of fishing videos and this was one of the most informative I’ve seen in a long time, from location, terrain and surrounding facilities, this was definitely a great video.
@@fishingsister it’s good for workers who travel like myself who bring a rod just in case and watching your videos really helps us and not waste our time driving around looking for something in unfamiliar territory.
Let’s hope there’s plenty around this week and you don’t lose so many. Maybe take a crab net to help lift the big one you’re going to catch for me he he. 😊
Hi lucky you! It is so amazing over there and the salmon should be going off. Shetinga had a sign on the road saying this is the best spot for mobile phones and it was true. No coverage anywhere else at Sheringa and no coverage on any of the other beaches around Elliston either. Hope you get a few 👍
Try lets go fishing at the bottom of gulf veiw road right hand side towards the beach at christies beach small family business been around forever before mid coast appeared on the scene .
Hi we usually look at wind first and see which beach suits the wind. If it's too strong we don't fish. Then we look at tides and then fish activity. Doesn't always work lol 😆
Yes for sure. It's hard to cast out any great distance when the wind is in your face. It is also much more pleasant to fish when the wind is more gentle 😊
Hi we use fishing angler which is fine for the tides and fish activity because you can pick the location, but not so good for weather and particularly wind when out of metro area. We found the Elliston beaches totally different to what was being predicted in winter which was frustrating. We now use the windy app for wind as it is so much more accurate. 👍
Yes a lot of luck comes into it. Fished there today and caught two little ones. Martin caught a decent salmon but it was very quiet. Amazing sunset though 😍
Those cases came with our fishing bag. They are very handy. We buy foam and cut it up for our rigs. We also keep our lures and squid jigs in one of these cases. The dividers can be taken out 👍
Sound is our most challenging issue....What kind of device are you watching it on?

Love ya Vids , for Mullet I make a Mullet mix out of Mince meat semolina and a small amout of curry powder . Mullet are an underrated fish for the table especially smoked .
Top Salmon fishing we fished Almonta beach and landed a lot of Salmon the avage Fish was five and a harlf pounds up to nine pounds landed on hole pilchards on gang hooks. Regards. Laurie from Vic. Tight Lines.
You need a four wheel drive to get to the hot spot there’s a dirt track going part way to the beach . You may be abled to drive a 2 wheel drive on the track but then it stops and you have to drive thou the sand Dunes to the beach. Regards Laurie. Tight Lines.
Pipis were staple food on our table many years ago but nsw banned hunting them many years ago due to over collecting, now only anglers can get them for bait only and not allowed to be more than 50 meters from the high tide mark, bag limit of 50 now , from manly to Wollongong they were illegal to get but if you want them you gotta go to a dish shop or fish markets .
Wow, we are lucky in SA then! We do have a closure over winter, and that beach is adjacent to Coorong, which is a remote coastline. It's worth a visit if you like those kinds of beaches.
Yes, we have several people saying leather jacket is nice to eat. Next time, we will give it a go👍.....and thanks for the kind words, as that encourages us to make more vids😉
Hi sister, if you are staying at venus bay, i recommend a salmon session up behind the shacks at venus. There is a nice sheltered ledge there overlooking the entrance to the bay. We had heaps of salmon on a squid float type rig with pillies about a metre below the float. A very visual way of catching salmon. We also had dolphins surfing in the water below us, cheers , geoff
Wow that sounds amazing! I love the idea of being able to see the salmon taking the bait. That is not something I get to witness very often when surf fishing. I will definitely look for that spot when we go back that way!
Looked like everyone had a great day fishing and some nice fat Mullet for tea well done . Those Pacific Gulls are pretty smart fish thieves that's for sure , it's a beautiful part of the world down that way and you'll find the Salmon next time .
I have had those birds fight me for my fish as I am binging them in! And they have won a coupe of times when a fish has fallen off the hook and they have flown off with them. So funny. Yes I just loved the beaches around Elliston and will go back for another try one day 😍
What pants do you guys use. I struggle to find waders that fit so think what you have could be an option if they make them big enough for a large lad like me.
Hi Matt these are made by Adrenaline and we bought them from Rapid surf and Ski at Prospect. They are really comfortable and warm and don't limit movement like waders. I feel safer wearing these especially when running around in that turbulent surf lol
Love your show… and the locations you visit 😊 But you need to measure your fish properly. Measure to the inner centre of the tail, not to the end of the tail.. That’s formal and professional way to measure 👍 … you’re stealing a few centimetres 😉
Thanks Ben! We have been very lucky to travel to the places we have been so far, and there are so many more to visit 🙂. Re the measuring - there seems to be two schools of thought (no pun intended). I always go by PIRSA here in SA who say on their website measure from the tip of the upper jaw to the tip of the tail but I know there are different methods around and maybe interstate too. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi the csrpark is just above the beach so an easy walk onto the sand. We like to fish the far end of the beach which is about 10 -15 minute walk. Not far. If I am walking in I leave my big bucket in the car and use my mesh burley bag to carry the fish back in. I dont often get large fish there but I guess you never know! I would just take a small bucket with my breadcrumb burley mix in and a backpack. Good luck. It is a magical place ❤️
@user-pn2ue3ht5q Rapid Bay should be good. I haven't caught proper salmon at Morgan's just trouties but you never know. Waits and Parsons are always my preferred places for salmon though
@user-pn2ue3ht5q well Jordan's fishing caught a kingy there recently right near the jetty so you never know! On my bucket list too. Apparently you need to catch a squid then put it on gang hooks and chuck it out live if you can 😆
Thanks for watching our vid. Our aim is to go to those places you can read about in fishing magazines and websites and show people what they are like, especially for beach access. It helps people plan their trips 😊. Sheringa is very well known as a must see salmon fishing destination.
I find once a line tangles it keep tangling and you spend most the morning fixing, like Martin David at the first tangle when he caught the big one, some times you better of making a new rig. Great video guys well done loved watching you bring in salmon, so much fun, I love them smoked, looking forward to your next adventure.👌👍❤️
O wow brings back fond memory's fishing with my Dad so long ago ,when we had a holiday house at Edithburg ,we fish all the coast and Buttlers when it was a just a sand track to the beach ,thanks for sharing and bring back a good time with my Dad, now past at 90 some 10 years ago :) Martin your a lucky man having some one that loves fishing with you sooo envious :)
So glad it reminded you of happy times 😍. I loved Butlers. Oh and I don't know how much Martin was loving my obsession with fishing yesterday morning when I was up in the dark to fish on a very cold beach with lots of seaweed lol. It is safe to say I am way more into fishing than him 🎣
🎣 Hi Linda and Martin, - In a video, I have seen an angler with his orange painted sinkers, hopefully to attract fish to his baited hook,! ... 🐠 I imagine another colour or combinations cud work too,! ... 🎣 🙂
Fishing Sister on the track down from the surfers stairs to the camp site (Back beach) theres a few driveways that lead to little breaks in the rocky shoreline that fish just as good without the sand dune climb. You can get Sweep off the cliff tops to your right .First beach goes off for Salmon too .After a big blow the sand on Back beach goes and gets very snaggy.
Thanks 😄. Would be good to spend a few days there and try out all the great spots to fish. Sounds like a really diverse range of fish could be caught along there
Great video! You guys definitely have beach fishing figured out. But like you said, the fish don't always play the game how they're supposed to! You still got a feed- well done!
