Would love more ww2 games on mac. Tried playing UBOAT using whiskey, utm, crossover and parallels but unfortunately on parallels and utm it wouldn't load and on whiskey and crossover it loaded and started but the captains character graphics wouldn't show but his voice was good but then the game just lagged really badly and froze. This was on a Mac Mini M2 Pro with 16gb ram
I'd be curious to understand the performance differences and behavior of the OS when you have background apps that are actually *doing work in the background* when game mode is on vs off, i.e.: Apple Maps / Google Waze actively managing an active navigation route, or say an audio call with Discord or just the Phone app.
Would love the likes of UBOAT, conflict vietnam, conflict desert strike 1 and 2 and other single player campaign war games to come out and be able to play on my mac mini m2 pro. Tried playing UBOAT through the Whiskey app and crossover. The game would run but once in the game would constantly lag and freeze :(
The 16 with the better gpu games better under windows than the m1 can under any scenario. Also the 2010 mac pro can be made to beat anything apple silicone in gaming depending on your gpu choice ;)
If you could test some games with touch input as well, that'd be awesome. I still believe there's a bug in iOS since 16.0 that causes games to stutter on ProMotion devices upon touch. It's observed even in the lightest games such as Hill Climb(or Hill Climb+) and Hit the Island. I'd like to see if game mode makes any difference to that, in my experience it does not.
120 FPS? No way, where are you seeing that? There is almost no difference between Quality and Performance with MetalFX on iPhone 15 Pro and RE Village. I've tested that extensively. You may as go with Quality mode as picture quality is considerably better. Performance uses Spatial upscaling and it's ugly.
1:57 It is insane to see a triple AAA game run so easily on a fan less mobile phone. This is literally better than PlayStation 4 Pro, that used to be the king of gaming 3 years ago. We all remember how massive and chunky that was. iPad Pro M4, already provides better graphics than PS5, it runs at a much higher resolution and frame rate.
The PS4 Pro was never the king of gaming ever. Also no this is worse than the PS4 is as these games all look significantly better on the PS4 Pro and even base Xbox One, the weakest of the 8th gen consoles
Also no the M4 iPad does not provide better graphics than the PS5. That's not even possible thermals wise. The closest chip power wise to the PS5 is an RX 6700. The M4 GPU doesn't even come close to touching that GPU. You'd need at least a M3 Max to meet the PS5 in GPU performance. So no the M4 iPad isn't close either
M4 iPad Pro is a Series S (the weaker XBOX console) that thermal throttles after a few minutes and becomes even weaker. Still very good performance for a tablet.
