So informative. I felt that all informative was delivered in a way that was easy to absorb and not dull at any point. Many videos don't go into quite as much detail, so refreshing to see. Then you :)
I've just had one of these completed and couldn't be happier. Firstly they found and fixed a couple of issues I was unaware of. Second, I'm now a lot more relaxed knowing that everything has been profesionally checked. Finally the service was excellent, as good as or better than many other companies I've dealt with. A total joy, I can't praise them and this check more highly. Thanks guys.
Do you have a part of a video ir a diagram that shows what to do? I have laid under it and cannot see what the AA man said he could . Also this is not James, its his wife ( me) trying to deal with this ( Im sure he would have known what to do but he is away for a while).
Great vid, don't have a van at the moment, but have hired a Cali on a couple of occasions and a van is in my not too distant future. Couple of things, under the roof bed the wooden slats are on show, do you have an option to cover those? Is the diesel hob night heater as efficient as a webasto blown air unit? Finally Transporter HQ do an after market chair carrier which fixes to the rear door, would that be an option? Cheers (Loving the vans, especially the Full Type Approval)
Hi, thanks for the video, any indication of which month the ‘spring’ launch will be for the new VW version? and Will you have a ford kitted this year out for rental? thanks
I am afraid with large manufactures they don't give exact dates that far ahead but keen subscribed as as soon as they give any idea we will let you all know.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the T7 is received as VW has been a very popular vehicle for many years. Has anyone got any ideas about the engines that will be fitted. I believe the current ford diesel that is referred to as “wet belt” seem to have a bad reputation.
The wet belt thing is one of those things people of heard of but don't actually know anyone it happened to. The van just needs to be serviced when recommended and won't be a problem. The issue is very old vans in the past not ever being checked.
Nicely done Owen. Looking forward to seeing how Jerba makes use of those extra cm! I guess the big question is how much more it will cost to have a VW badge on the front!?
Volkswagen tried that with the id Buzz. They couldn't get the weight down below the 3.5 Tonne licence limit, with all the battery weight added to the camper van as fitted out. This vehicle is heavier still. They could put less batteries in it though, to save weight, but most people normally camp outside a 50 miles range limit lol.
There are the 2.0-litre units that powered the previous generation with a choice of 110, 136, 150 and 170hp power outputs. Later this year or at the start of next they will release the 2.5-litre petrol engine with a 65kWh battery hybrid and a full EV.
They are going to increase the weight limit that your license is allowed to drive to 4.25 tonnes. They have already agreed in Europe and there is legislation going through parliament in the UK greenfleet.net/features/26102023/changes-425-tonne-electric-van-operating-rules#:~:text=The%20government%20has%20announced%20changes%20to%20the%20operation%20requirements%20of,extra%20weight%20of%20the%20battery.
@@JerbaCampers That's good news. EV vehicles are in there infancy, every man and his dog are working on improving battery chemistry. Looks like solid-state is the Holy Grail. I've driven the larger electric transit, so nice after all my years with diesels.

What noise, the standard beds are better if you get a nice foam, no way can a double sided be more comfortable. You can't use this without an elevating roof and my R&R has more storage. These are heavier and much more expensive. I see no advantages at a;ll.
Is it possible to purchase the fixed toilet schematics or the entire system from you guys? We are on the other side of the globe and are really keen on this setup. Thank you.
Microfibre towels are awful, they don't dry you properly. We use "free" cardboard boxes for storage and make them fit exactly using a hot glue gun for the rebuild, they last for years. We used a thin wooden fruit box, cut down for a litter bin, made it fit in a tight space. I made that 6 years ago, line it with a bag and it's great. Toilets, we use a couple of wide necked sangria bottles for number1s and she-wee. A plastic bin and dog poop bag for number2 emergencies, with a bit of cat litter. We keep a flat ended machete (or mashitty) for the forest doings, the machete for digging and also protection for the wife. Who is going to attack a woman with a machete? Our van is a little small for a portapotti.
Super keen to see what you do with this. Had a lay down in the back of one today and was immediately aware of how much smaller it is than the transporter. Personally I kind of like the idea of a smaller van as it's easier to place on the road and park, plus it's usually just me sleepihg in it, but for someone that always goes away with the family i think they would seriously miss the space.
I had two single mattress toppers in 2015 for my twin bed Globecar whose beds were rock hard. This is before they became well known. I went to their little factory in Dewsbury, Wakefield, somewhere like that. Tried the bronze silver and gold. The bronze was weak, the gold too soft for me, the silver perfect. Fantastic product always slept well.
MAN identical to Crafter so if it’s cheaper that’s a no brainer. Great presentation of a lovely van. My usual reservation of all your vans is the use of carpet on walls etc. Horrid and so old fashioned.
I don’t like the carpet lining on walls and headlining. Over the years it gets tatty. Continental vans use plastic mouldings but I appreciate that’s only possible for very large converters. The toilet cassette and LPG fill access are deal breakers for me.
