Wasn't it different in the books? Wasn't it Armand that found daniel and eventually turned him into a vampire and lestat not meet him tip after he was turned?
I've yet to see a vampire film or show that comes close to this one. Will there ever be one? I doubt it. This just nailed everything about the tropes and genre.
I feel so conflicted watching this scene. Lector did terrible things yet the mixture of reverence and awe in Starling's eyes and voice in a way exonerated him- so, is Lector a villain or a hero?
The thing is, Daniel (Christian Slater) wanted to become a vampire so badly but it angered Louis. After the events shown here in this scene Daniel goes to look for Lestat but instead finds Armand. He forms a relationship with him and he gets his wish when Armand turns him. It really is a shame they never showed this in the movie. Maybe thanks to AI and a possible future movie it can be shown. You are probably like "this was 30 years ago, they are older now.." well the thing is maybe it can be done with special software
I have rewatched this movie again and it's such an amazing piece of art! Tom Cruise owned the role (and the entire movie IMO) and his delivery was absolutely perfect, not to even mention this great ending! I think I'll make a tradition of rewatching this movie at least once a year 😉
The most classic vampire movie of all time. I thought I was the only one that appreciated the movie, but platform like this confirms that people like me do exist. Thank you RU-vid.
I guess so , I never read the book , but I hope he gets Daniel as a new companion, he deserves someone better than Louis the whiner ,not to mention Daniel seems more willing to be a vampire , you know if Louis hates his life so much as a vampire , he could end his suffering by burning under the sun , a quick solution to all his suffering ....
When I heard "Don't you just know it" by Huey "Piano" Smith at the end of the movie, it blew me away. It's one of my all time favorite songs. Great ending to one of my favorite movies.
Is it wrong I agree with Lestat that it gets annoyingly exhausting how much Loui whines, dear God we get it you're depressed but is that really all his personality? If he were that upset about his inmmortality as he claims to be he would've jumped into the sunlight ages ago, the fact he hasn't tells how he actually enjoys being miserable. I mean if I were turned I'd probably do a billion things I never got the courage to do while human and finally when I'm done with everythingI could ever think of I'd "pop off", but until that happened make lemonade and enjoy the ride, but that guy seemed to be a drag😮💨like a blackhole that sucked the life away of those around him. The kind whose deppression would give caretaker burnout to anybody close to him
True. But something just occurred to me. According to Louie, he took his leave of Lestaht some time ago. So how, did he know about Louie's conversation with this man? Also you have to admit his appearance in the backseat of the convertible was unusually convenient. I think the writer may have been stalked by Louie's ex ever since the start of the film.
The film and its message are timeless because the madness and psychosis of war, as well as the base reasons why wars are fought, remain the same… the pawns remain the same… and the kings remain the same. Only the dates and the paymasters change. - Murder Incorporated - America's Favorite Pastime: Book Two (Empire, Genocide, and Manifest Destiny) Chapter 1 THE GREAT MEAT GRINDER "
It's a wonderful romantic song, isn't it? But it's not a funny song. It's a very sad song about love that dies in war. War is not a romantic affair. Every war is killing people.
Funniest thing about this movie is i always thought it was some weird horror film about a guy who loses his memory every day and has to take photo's to remember. Likely because I think i saw it on Film4 on my freeview as a kid but don't remember how much I watched of it and I don't think I actually understood what was actually going on with all the jump cuts. It wasn't until I finally watched it after seeing it on Netflix that I realised how completely wrong my memory of it was.
How many of us are still wondering where the continuation to this very scene is no disrespect to Queen of the Damned, but a lot of things were changed, which turned me off it
Tom's most amazing role in my opinion. I still feel cheated about how discreet the movie was with their relationship. It just kept me wondering. Maybe for the best, a love scene with both of them wouldve made me explode.
A beautiful moment interrupted by literally the drums of war, the colonel’s face almost seeming angry that these men can be celebrating when 3 of their own were just needlessly killed, really they’re just glad they survived the battle or weren’t picked for the execution, by the end of it he understands they’re hurt by it all and gives them a few more minutes before sending them off to their deaths once again, Atleast this time the parasite General Mireau is gone.
