Hey, not sure if anyone noticed but on discovery+ there were ads covering whole run in women's (it was actually a winning run which was not shown ) and one run in men's . I am not sure if it was like that for everyone? I have cheapest discovery+ subscription and I am in UK. It pissed me off a lot, there is plenty of time to put an add so it does not cover anyone's run in final and beside we have to pay subscription and get adds that cover riders final run?!? I do not see adds during football games for example, only during the half time break... Any opinions about that?
With you on the Fantasy League. Sucks some of the fun out of it. Great analysis of the races, thanks!🎉 Nobody else is doing this 🎉 PS: I love the way you sometimes put different clips to the actual topic while you chat: this is a good thing, especially for those following the races 😊
To your experience Dean, Amaury has said a few times now he's not ready and confident for full gas on a dry track yet (although got close in semis) so rain is an equaliser for him at the moment. He's not going 100%, that's as insane as the Les Gets vibes and expectations of the gendarmerie. Agree - I'll be in on fantasy as soon as I get one with a manager mode where you pick the team for a budget at the start of the year, prices go up and down through the year but you can trade. Juniors - it's hard but people on site saying it was the right move, surprised it caught the managers out after Loudenvielle; Neko had told Asa not to push too hard in quali as he was protected, thankfully Asa had a memory wipe out of the gate, actually burped the tyre before the river gap (I think) lost time in the final sprint. World Champs, it sounds left field on results so far but I think Ethan might be due. And maybe Pompon, she's trending up!
Change to the race companion - they don’t change prices. We would love to have you in chat!! Great review of lets gets ! Remy Meier smith won the power stage - he will finish in top 10 at end of season next year. Mud- good to know ride the river down - I always learn something for you every pod cast
A friend from my earlier years that I since reconnected with said that teen me always seemed to be on edge, unsettled. I totally recognised that - it took me years to be comfortable in my own body.
Also quite common is for a woman to be ignored or to be considered of low value if the man doesn't find them attractive, available or not. (Watching how men interact with woman friends tells me a lot about them.)
Dean - week over week (wow) your interviews improve 10 fold. Gotta love Cody! Speak your mind people that get upset are upset with themselves because they can’t do it. I have no problem speaking my mind, the issue is so many people are weak minded. How arrogant are people that they think they will never hear an opinion that differs for their own.
I guess redbull means money and access. Its funny but not once do i think about the drink redbull. I think F1 or some crazy stunt . Alot of other products i think about the products.
I think that you made a great point a few weeks ago with Chris….foreplay is an all day thing. I also feel that guys telling a female what they find sexy is wrong…. Ask her how she feels sexy. Make her feel sexy all day everyday. Men understand it’s not a race…. Also stop watching porn - you are screwing it up for her. Stop doing to knuckle shuffle when alone- it’s why you are not performing.
Amaury is a KING and also very strong in brutal tracks like VDS. VDS show how is a game changing real DH tracks with roots and super tech stuffs, riders with a lot of trainnings in difficult terrains got the best chance to win.
I'd be willing to bet that he's mentally stronger than ever, and his ability to tune out fear and focus is better than ever, and this could slingshot him into being one of the fastest this sport has ever seen.
PLEASE tell me that his team have documented everything from his potentially life-altering injury (probably has altered his life in many ways, especially mental strength and resilience) to that Val di Sole win, and are going to release a full length film on it....👑
There is no wu wu. It is not magic. There are no questions here. AP is (year in and year out) physically, the most prepared. His power, strength, endurance, flexability is the best in the sport and this only comes from a willingness and dedication to PAIN. There are quite a few close.. But he doesnt have the density, aesthetic and history of recoveries from other injuries without having the constant consistency of embracing pain in training. This is no accident. This is not magic. Its WORK. For 99% of people and athletes that cannot relate hrs a day of pain to chase that scream in the winner circle, its too hard to relate. And only a few people in the entire history of any sport could produce comebacks like this.. Stoked to witness such an occasion in human performance.
I agree, what Amaury did was absolutely astounding. Given what you are actually doing in DH and combining that with the amount of variables inherent in the sport, Amaury's win is quite possibly the greatest comeback in any sport, ever. It's interesting you mentioned World's in Les Gets and just how fitting a result that was. Loic, Amaury and Loris have been the without question the fastest guys in DH in the post Gwin era. As to your evaluation of the three, I think Amaury has or will have equal race craft as Loic. H's a couple years younger than Loic so maybe there is the impression that he doesn't have the same level simply because Loic's had a bit more time at it to prove he can win again and again.. but then you look at how many Word Champ's Loic has one..perhaps you're right. I'd agree that Amaury is the fastest of the three when he's on.. but I can't help thinking where Loris would be had he not had such rotten luck back in 2020 I think it was. It seemed like he was going to have one of those seasons, think Hill 2007, Gwin 2011-2012, where a rider is simply untouchable. Then he had a couple of unfortunate mechanicals and it just seems, from the outside at least, a little bit of stoke on riding/racing at the top level left him after that. I still feel like Loris has some great wins ahead of him. Perhaps it's just his personality, but from my armchair, I'd say he doesn't quite exhibit the same desire to win as Loic and Amaury.
@@DMs.withDEAN I watched Andora last year on vital across the same sections and mostly without knowing who anyone was at the time, Bruni physically stood out from all the others. Stature, power, timing, touch….. I was surprised somehow, to hear him talk that he was such a lovely bloke. Maybe I expected a more brash personality but for some reason I was not so convinced. I still won loads, and aggression is not the key of course. Confidence maybe? I could not put my finger on it. But pah what do I know. A fascinating insight into these guys. Maybe it’s just to free your mind, don’t override the track, and flow 🙏
Just came across your channel, dig your perspective brotha keep it up. Healing that fast can also only be explained by mental strength. Some Joe dispenza level shit right there to put 5 seconds into people the year after breaking your neck.
Awesome debrief as always.. Wee headsup tho, itd be super awesome if you reviewd the Juniors just a little as well.. Esp this time round, Junior women, kiwi 1,2,3 podium, 1st year junior Ellie Hulsebosh not only surviving the hardest track in the hardest cond, but getting the fastest womens time over-all, beating Tahnee Seagrave by 0.083 seconds.. That is some epic riding not to be sneezed at.. The women elites must be looking at the next gen coming up with some trepidation haha!
Thanks for your debriefs. A priveledge to hear your reflections so soon after seeing that unique performance. His commitment was astonishing full stop, even without his last 12 months. I didn’t see anything ragged at all in the footage I’ve seen. Which brings me on to a request. Your thoughts about what makes a great racer using Loic as your example are fascinating. I’d love to hear your racer’s perspective on leaving enough out on the hill to allow yourself to think strategically about how you are going during a race run. Assuming equal skills etc, how much do you need in hand to be able to think and re-think during a run, for example as new conditions are discovered during your final run. Is it 90%, 95% or was Amaury running at 99.9% and not doing any thinking at all?
I was hoping for a Dak win but Amaury's run was outworldy. I believe that Amaury and Loic are very close regarding racecraft, perhaps Loic's advatange resides in his ability to race at 98% whereas Momo is more of a off/on Rider but he compensates It with his extra speed. When they are healthy the results are extremely close. Loic has 3 overall and Momo 2 but It could be the other way. Loris is very technical and my favourite Rider but mentally he's not as strong as the other two
