Yes. That is true. Also happened in North West Europe. My dad said they would take village or town and Americans would have the victory parade, all dressed up and the Canadians who took the place would still be in their battle dress uniforms.
Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of your Dad, John. It is always difficult when we lose a parent, no matter how old we are. Your Dad sounded like he was a really good man.
That guitar bit at the end has such Gilmore flavors - as I was typing that you said it! that was creepy. :) Proud Canadian here. Thanks for talking about this great song and what it means to you today. Here's hoping the fringe never reigns again. History, not the revisionist kind, is so important as generations come and go... you can't forget what you never learned in the first place. We need to keep history alive, "lest we forget..." and repeat the sins of our fathers.
I had a Italian ww2 rifle i can't remember the model i know you couldn't hit anything over 50 metres if you did it was a fluke if they all had rifles like this won i know that i wouldn't fight ether

This is so great! I pride myself in knowing about stuff like this but had no idea about these sites. I was right there when visiting London a few years ago and missed them. Thanks for this information - now I know for next time. That the memorial points towards Halifax...what wonderful and understated symbolism. I'm glad I know now.
Great to see you back, John and no need to apologize. Add me to those who have enjoyed (and missed) your content and look forward to what you have coming up!
