I do genuinely miss it! I’m not sure if it’s just nostalgia but it seemed to have it all… a nice town, close to the sea, the South Downs minutes away & a warmer climate than I have to endure in Dorset! Geoff, I see you visiting Oshkosh in your future. The wife and I went this year for the first time. Oshkosh is indescribable in it's expanse. There were over 10,000 aircraft and 687.000 people attending. You have to come. Nice video Geoff.

Well done Geoff. Another great vid. Got to the end of the video and suddenly realised that was me talking to you on the way down! I’m a star 😂. As for the close shave, which I heard happening by the way, it makes me realise that route across the forest is unsafe as I had a similar experience last year with a PA28 overtaking me just above and only a couple of hundred yards to the right. From now on I’m passing the VRPs half a mile to the right.

Everyone funnelled through that one area… I can’t imagine what routing through Manchester’s low level corridor must be like 😳 It seems that it’s worth getting a Basic Service from Bournemouth & giving the main ‘path’ a wide berth (as you say) 👍🏼 Thanks for watching my friend 🙏🏻

Another great outing along the coast, Geoff. The emerald colour of the sea is picked up well by your cameras. You often fly past my home town of Littlehampton, so for me it's interesting to view the surrounding landscape from the air. Enjoyed the annotations and your flight tracker. Looking forward to your next outing!
There’s something wonderful about seeing the area where you live from the air 🤩 My mum’s best friend lives in Littlehampton & we spent lots of time there in my youth, so it holds a special place in my heart! 🥰 I really appreciate you watching & taking time to comment. That’s really excellent controlling from the controller at the end. Was that on a basic service? Great to see controllers going above and beyond to ensure the safety of flight.
Yes it was, I quite agree, they really do take it very seriously. I was just on a Basic Service from Bournemouth, so they went above & beyond, as you said. It was so much closer than it looked in the video & I was a bit shaken as to how it might have been if she had not warned me 😳🥵

I’m glad you appreciate them, it makes the hard work worthwhile 🙏🏻 I have switched to DJI action 4 cameras now. I have three (two in the cockpit & one on the starboard wing). I still have one GoPro 10, this is mounted on the port wing. Any B-roll footage is shot on the tiny & amazing DJI action 2. I am not sponsored by DJI, but got frustrated with how unreliable the GoPro cameras were. I think GoPro have better image quality, but I’ll trade ‘capturing a good image’ over ‘losing an amazing image’ all day long! Hope that helps 😊👍🏼

😂 well, 🤷🏻♂️ artistic licence! 😄 Sadly, I don’t think that sticking a couple of videos on RU-vid will carry any weight with the manufacturers… having said that, I have secured a couple of free T-shirts 🥳👍🏼 I know Eve would like to consider a new plane & I’m not adverse to the suggestion, but I don’t want to leave SV & I’m not sure if our budget stretches quite that far! 😄
I’m not trying to be evasive, but that is difficult to say, for the following reasons… Some of the initial cost was incorporated in the initial purchase price of the aircraft. I then added to the panel incrementally over the last few years. I upgraded to full autopilot. I had the panel itself changed from a metal instrument panel with vinyl wrap to an all carbon panel & then bought more electronic conspicuity. So it was not done in one go. If you want to have a go at pricing it you can visit gps.co.uk which is where I believe all the components were sourced, or speak with Luke Williams from EuroFOX. I’m sorry that probably didn’t help 😳🤦🏻♂️

😄 It’s what I normally wear on a day-to-day basis, but I usually ‘dress down’ when out & about, or when making RU-vid videos, as it seems to ruffle people’s feathers. Even my family are amused at me always wearing a tie! Recently though, I’ve thought ‘stuff it’, I am who I am & I’m just going to roll with it! 😄👍🏼 And, if it didn’t put me at risk of public alienation, I’d even consider a Bowler hat!!! Thats the problem with Aviation...Wives😁. sorry No I mean.. Bigger better and shinier planes. I 100% had more enjoyment in my Flexwing than I did after converting to the dark side. But If it gets Eve genuinely excited and into flying then its a no brainer get your cheque book out fella. Just remember Eve, a WT9 is for life not just for Christmas

It’s amazing to see the contrast between the high & low wing aircraft! That low wing obscures the amazing view you get in a high wing, but also changes the handling & performance in a way that I had not fully appreciated. Two very different animals 👍🏼
Always fancied flying in to Goodwood. A friend of mine flew his flexwing in during the festival of speed and said its got to be on the bucket list as it was awesome.

It’s always a pleasure to read your comments Cptn 🫡👨🏼✈️😄 I don’t often ask for a Basic Service under that airspace (as you know), but I’m sure glad I did on that day! 😳 I was fighting them off like flies on a hot day! I definitely ‘feel the need… the need for speed’ at the moment! 😉 Eve is not helping & seems to be actively encouraging me!!!
