What everybody should do in the off-season? So close to competition I like to focus on embracing my strongest positions for maximising points. Currently 10 days out from the heaviest u90kg show in history!
Wow, sterling work Hicksy. I think you are well on track for the 505 and are just looking so strong with just a great approach to it all too. Good luck
Wow...that 431 x 3 looked smooth! Had to grind out the third a bit but you still had some in the tank! Can't wait to see you at the Deadlift World Championships!
I don’t know if any of you noticed this, but, if you see how he does those 3 reps, he’s holding at the top and then releasing and rising again, almost rdl, he holds it at the very end as well, could be tactical to apply more stress to the muscle, interesting, whether or not this is better than an explosive rise and drop I’m not convinced as always try and keep competition reps the same as training, however, this being reps and sets it could be a potentially smart tactic to exert more energy with less weight for more muscle fatigue, let’s see anyway, but I’m sure plenty will argue with the tried and tested and not straying from it, good luck hixxy, n remember, give it f***ing everything👌👍💯
No messing about , put the weight on , pick it up , pure power, great lesson for all of us too as you give the warm up weights just as much respect as the heaviest , good luck and stay healthy
Good job. Controlling the downside part of the lift is key to hold the pulling line. You are on track. I think you can lift 505 kg on day X. Just watch the little signals of your body and react properly to them. If you feel you need a day more to recover just listen to your body. Plan smart and stay healthy. Collect yourself for day X. You can do it.
@@cae2487 Sus? It's called a different deadlift bar mate, not all bars have the same exact amount of flex. Rogue deadlift bars don't flex as much as some bars. Plus, look how wide Thor's grip is. Bars don't flex as much when you grip wider
Not sure what is better in my eyes, Thors 440x3 Suited etc, or Eddies 420x4 no suit or belt... Either way I think if you get close to or match Thors 440x3 you've got the 505 in the bag for sure.
I met Graham at the Arnold’s uk. Asked him for his top tips and he told me the importance of longevity. Since then I stopped ego lifting and the small constant incremental gains have really started to add up. Best advice I’ve ever had
Thanks to all the commentators who insult the training partner with tough love, no jealousy, no ill will, just pure love, he doesn't know what he's doing, he must have lifted one or two times before, we all lift heavier.
Ok went back to watch the older video 430 for 3 I am convinced he is extremely close right now to the strength required. Especially comparing the first rep I said i believed he 'could' pull 505. I now believe he will. He has looked in much better shape and already stronger with more time out I wonder did he really believe he was going to pull 505, or was it more coming from hope? This is the confidence of a man that will pull 505. I was convinced Thor would pull 501 even before his triple with 440, but that made it for me very likely Getting that feeling now with Graham Awesome
If you stay injurey free and dont burn out you stand a great chance. If you do it and its huge task it will be a much better lift than Eddie's or Thor's your about 40kg lighter. Good luck in Vegas !!
It looked easier for hicksy thor's bird screaming her head off 👂 🩸 okie we all no that thor has to pull the bar higher but hicksy held the bar when it was up for longer I think if hicksy put a couple of extra pounds on his legs then that 505kg is in the bag maybe even 510kg
Both looked easy lmao. Thor did this for a very comfortable set off 3 and its 9kg more. And who cares what his wife is doing? She's supporting him in her own way, that doesn't magically make his lift easier.
Great lift as always Graham. You have so many people believing in you. Keep pushing. Have to agree with some of the comments, the other guy needs to work on his form rather than hitching like that. Personally I wouldn’t be wearing a deadlift l suit at 220 but everyone is different. 505 incoming!
