Recently purchased a new SAR B6. My CZ 75 magazines will not work in the SAR B6. CZ 75 magazines are too short to lock in. SAR B6 magazines are a little longer than CZ 75 magazines. Easy enough to file .050" off the B6 polymer grip so as to accommodate CZ 75 magazines but that might affect the pistol's warranty. Also, the SAR magazines now over insert and stop on the ejector, which some say will create a problem over time. SA Trigger pull on my pistol is 4.5#.
@@thinman8621 that’s interesting. Do the cz75 mags have a metal or plastic baseplate and what is the capacity of the cz mags, 16 or 17? I know there are some cz75 mags that may not work but I’ve always bought the ones marketed as cz75b mags and they work in all my tanfoglio based clones, like the SAR.
@@darink300zx One mag is a 16rd metal base Mec Gar. One mag is a 18rd polymer base CZ that came with a CZ 75 SP-01. Both mags work perfectly in the CZ. Both are too short to lock into the SAR. No amount of pounding will seat either mag in the SAR -- they really are too short.
@@thinman8621 that is odd, I do think I remember that the 16r mecgar mags didn’t work well for some but the 17r mecgars do, which are the ones I get. I think I have some old 16r cz85 mags, I may have to try them in the b6 and see if they fit.
@@darink300zx Watched several RU-vid reviews of the B6. All said CZ mags interchange, although one mentioned CZ mags have to be firmly seated. Perhaps I'm the only guy who got a "long grip" B6.
I got the KM Tactical flat face trigger shoe and ran it with the PSA EPT hammer, disconector and springs. I polished all contact points and I got a very nice 4Lb trigger. For a milspec trigger? Its a win!
I don’t think Tristar has been importing the canik pistols for a while now. I could be wrong but I think the only caniks imported to the USA now are of the striker fired variety, like the tp9 series. Your best bet is finding one used.
Yeah, I think there were some people copying the design and selling them on amazon so the company Opsol only sells them on their website now. opsolmini-clip.com/product/opsol-mini-clip-2-0-flex/ and yeah, I use one on my shockwave, works great.
That’s odd, they work in all mine. Seems like one gun I had to remove the plastic baseplate from the mag and trim it with sandpaper to get it to lock in easier. Might want to try that.
It's 2024, and in the last 3 years, there are two new "ways" to run minishells in the Mossberg pump shotguns. The first, which came out in 2021ish, is the 590S by Mossberg. This way to run minishells was achieved by taking the "rubber" concept pioneered by OPSol, and putting that rubber at the very back or the receiver. The goal of Mossberg was to have a shotgun that can run any length shell without an adapter. Mossberg "redesigned" the 500 platform to do this and call it the 590S. The entirety of that redesign was to allow you to put minishells and regular shells into the same mag tube, and fire them. So for an extra $100 as of today at Academy, you can have that capability. In a home defense shotgun, where your family members may be the ones using the shotgun, what is more likely......you practice with a specific round with expected recoil and penetration, and load the gun with those (mini or long), or you put in a variety of multi length rounds with a variety of recoil responses. The second way to do it was developed by Defender Tactical. This option basically mimics what Mossberg did, but can be inserted into the gun. In both cases, the "rubber" is at the back of the receiver, so that minishell and full length shells can be run at the same time. What both solutions DO NOT DO is actually transform a 3" wide receiver (to handle 2.75" long shells) into a 1.6"ish receiver to handle 1.5" minishells. As a result, there is about 1.4" of "rattle room". When under a real defense scenario, where you or your family may be racking the gun hard, in odd positions such as barrel up, or around a corner where the ejection port may be facing down, the mini shells move around, flip, and sometime fall out of the ejection port. Every pump shotgun made, including the KSG, that allows a minishell to rattle around, will flip shells. That extra rattle room is always present. Put another way, if in this world, only minishells existed, a pump shotgun would have a 1.6" receiver, not a 3" receiver. A full length shell needs a full length receiver, and a minishell needs a mini receiver. Only the OPSol Flex adapter transforms a Mossberg 500 (Mav 88, 500, 590, 590A1, Shockwave) receiver to a mini receiver.
Ramble on incoherently much? Not impressed, work on it. I added one of these back when. Good gun, like it more then my CZ 75 Compact. I have both the T-100 and the T-120. All are decent guns and fun to shoot. The Turks do a lot of clones, including Beretta.
Great video. People need to see that everything isn't just bang bang bang. When I break down my Taurus G2s's ,I still go to the RU-vid videos just to make sure I am taking them down right. I own several Taurus G2s's . For me, they are the perfect size. Forgettable in the pocket but ready at a moments notice. Seven in the mag and one in the chamber. Plus, I have a leather mag holder that slips in my back pocket that carries two more seven rounds mags like a wallet. Both the gun and the mag holders form to my body and disappear in my jeans pockets. I shoot 124 grn FMJ Magtechs and have never had a fail in any of my G2s's. Hit a pie plate at ten yards with every shot. Love the manual safety. It has never come off safe in my pocket. Just the perfect size, there when I need them and out of the way the rest of the time. I just have to remember to leave them in the car when I go in certain places. I've done quite a few car go backs. Three steps from the car, pat my right pocket...whoops....GREAT Taurus pistols.
@@highsecurityagent8778 I forgot about posting this it was fixed about an hour after I put that post on there. There's a part called the safety sheet or part number 51 you have to have it correctly on and everything fits
If you get a small frame Witness, do yourself a favor and order some of those Mecgar CZ mags and throw the factory mags in the trash. Great piece, I trust my life with one, but the factory mags have the shelf life of cream cheese, which is also what I think their followers must be made of.
@@xrpxtrariceplease2811 don't buy the opsol. Get the Defender Tactical Universal Minishell Adapter...it works for BOTH 2-3/4 and minishell. I have it on my Mossberg Shockwave and it is insane how well it works. I had the Opsol too but after taking it to the range I immediately realize how useless this thing is if you want practicality.
Anyone know if it's ok to use just the trigger spring (and not hamemr spring) from this? I want to avoid LPS at all costs, since this is my defensive weapon.
I too had a PSA lower with the EPT trigger. I polished the sear with a dremel and some compound and installed the JP Enterprises enhanced reliability spring kit. Got consistent 4.25 - 4.5 lb. break as measured with a Lyman Mechanical Gauge. Shoot mostly Lake City ammo and have had no failures. Best $12.50 I ever spent on an AR.
It was the rail that was on the upper I got from PSA. Here’s a video overview of that upper. Not sure if they still make it or not. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2H_Y7Lf3AkU.html
There's a new design out that allows 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 without ANY adjustments. I keep my Shockwave full of Federal 15 pellet #4 buck. This is about half the standard payload but at the ranges involved, it should be pretty destructive.
I think they called it their wonder finish, some refer to it as a hard chrome and I’ve seen others say it’s similar to the type finish glocks use, tenifer maybe, but obviously in a different color.
There are little metal inserts within the polymer. Not full length like the metal framed tanfoglios, but not just polymer either. I have seen at least one witness ps where one of the metal inserts popped out and it had to be sent back for repair. In the video, it’s hard to make out but at around the 07:10 mark the inserts are on both sides of the gun, halfway down the frame and at the rear of the frame. The slide contacts the metal inserts and doesn’t slide on the polymer. Hope that helps.
@@darink300zx Thanks for the reply. I've a MEGA, but B6P weight, price point and (for me) hammer-DA/SA is tantalizing... but I do have some concern with longevity, particularly as my main use is OWB in woods, and it gets bumped around.
Wouldn't stay put in my 590. Too squishy. I'm sure if it were made with a harder rubber compound or urethane it would be perfect. It was a waste of time for me.
That’s interesting. I have two and both work great in my 500, 590 shockwave, and a maverick 88. There was a comment a while back that someone was selling knockoff ones on amazon that weren’t made by opsol, could you have gotten one of these by mistake?
@@darink300zx That may very well be. I tend to use Amazon for the free shipping though I don't remember where I purchased it. I have since bought the Defender adapter that I haven't had problems with as yet.
I have researched this product. I have Maverick 88, with folding stock, that holds 8 rounds as well. Folding stock, allows for different applications. After researching several, well, many reviews, this product seems to work well. Are you still satisfied? Thank you sir. John from Kentucky.
Hey neighbor, I’m in KY too. Yes I’m still happy with this. I also have a maverick 88 with a top folder stock and it works well in it too. My favorite application is the shockwave 590, the short shells increase the capacity to 8 I think. Keep it within arms reach while in bed. If you haven’t tried them look for the federal shorty shells in #4buck. They function and pattern nicely out of my shockwave and are plenty powerful enough to end the threat.
@@darink300zx , Thank you for reply friend! I am from Pulaski County, city of Somerset. My Maverick, is one of those cross breeds, when Mossberg started making, the Maverick brand. Some items, from both styles, included. My capacity is better than most, I have watched, several reviews , and, adapters, during research. All are, positive, at first, later when wear sets in, some, not so favorable. I can find shells locally, but, believe it or not, can find them at gun shows cheaper? Minus price of admission now, LOL. Unsure if My gun Guru, has the adapter in stock, however, messaged him, about, same time I watched your review. From other vids, I am impressed, with what those little shells, damage can be. I appreciate your reply. I asked out, to people, who did, older reviews. I figured if they still work now, invest in items. I normally do MRE reviews, however, if I decide to buy these, I shall put up link and review. It would be pleasant distraction. Peace from somerset, John, AKA Magnum. You do not have to answer, out of curiosity, what part of Ky. do you reside? John.
@@MultiMagnum62 I reside in the Lexington area now, but would you believe I’m from Pulaski county? Oak hill road area is where I grew up and moved away in early 90s. All of my family still reside in Pulaski county! What a small world! Do you go to the keno range or shoot on private property? When my brother and I go shoot we use the keno range.
Unfortunately you can’t get them from EAA any longer because EAA is no longer the importer. IFG (Italian firearms group) is now the importer of tanfoglio pistols. They do import the tanfoglio combat, which seems to be this same pistol, small frame tanfoglio, all steel. Budsgunshop dot com has them in stock, but not at the prices EAA sold them for, about 150 bucks more. Just search ifg combat or tanfoglio combat.
There is another physical difference between the large frame and small frame and that is where the slide meets up with the barrel. If you look at a small frame slide's ejection port, you will notice that all edges of the slide meet up cleanly with the barrel. No Gaps. However on the large frames there is a slight gap between the slide and the barrel at the front of the port. You actually see more of the barrel in the port.
