Glad you went the route of what you have on hand. Infusing is always something I look at too late since I want the drink now not tomorrow. Then I forget to make it again 😂. Will be trying this.
Hey I will gladly switch from a delicious single malt scotch dram for this cocktail tonight on a lovely summer evening!! I adore delicious riffs on Old Fashioned and Manhattan cocktails! Huge faves next to the Rusty Nail and the Vieux Carre!! Love scotch cocktails and I often use a single malt, peated! Fabulous! Lol! Terrific video Andrew!! Yay to no vodka!! Lol! Cheers!! 🙂
Was lucky enough to score a bottle myself, yet to try though thanks for the review. I notice you also got the Lagavulin/Starward collab on the shelf, I am also a holder of this yet to open
@@leepalmer3634 You could try either but as the clarifying process relies on the fat content of the milk, full cream would almost certainly work better.
5:1, bracingly cold where the delicious gin gets that beautiful texture and a twist of lemon! A dash of orange bitters! Spectacular!! I always use a London dry gin!! Great video!! Cheers! 🙂
I need a drink... sorry, been MIA, haven't commented in a while... oh well, life... and it demands a strong one... what's the most "dangerous" drink in your repertoire? In terms of ABV and in terms of stealth intoxication? may need to flip a coin to choose between the two.
Yeah 15 ml absinthe sounds on the money. I like absinthe, but it's a dominating profile. And when you've got a nice rye and a complex vermouth, seems a pity to diminish them.
I sure can. There are classic recipe just absinthe that are great all with the same base ingredients yet all named differently. Absinthe Frappé/Mojito/Swizzle 2 Oz (60ml) Absinthe 2 Barspoon Brown Sugar 2 Oz (60ml) Soda Water ¾ Oz (22.5ml) Fresh Lime Juice 6-8 Fresh Mint Leaves Mint Sprig Garnish
@@AngryCocktails, very true. Perhaps they should change it to the Errol Flynn, the W. C. Fields, or the John Barrymore. Those were three Hollywood legends who had a fond relationship with liquor.
I have two or three low abv cocktails and occasionally look for more. This sounds interesting, not having a base spirit, and I have all the ingredients so I'll be making it this weekend. Thanks for the recipe
I like to keep my absinthe in a dasher bottle and whenever a cocktail calls for an absinthe rinse I just add 2-3 dashes to drink a similar effect. I like the idea of using an atomizer though, might need to pick one up
I've been having fun infusing spirits recently. One that came out particularly good was lapsang souchong (a smoked tea) in some lackluster rye whiskey I had lying around. It ended up coming out remarkably close to a peaty scotch.
