quick question if i buy 5ku middle frame can i use stock ssp5 safety, beavertail, and hammer on it? or should i just get the 5ku safety and beavertail aip hammer also can i clamp the front part of the ssp5 with the 5ku middle frame 4.3 size on my ssp5
Just got their 39k brushless. And it really tranformed my aeg, with 13:1 gears the trigger response is immediate with no precocking. And the rps is about 35. Insane.
Nice to see someone who actually tells me what metal and alloys the pistol uses and doesn't bullshit me with OMG LOOK IT HAS PURPLE HOP RUBBER and other nonsense
Completly useless feature the lip tension control XD, just use the correct nozzle for your setup... Its ridiculous all the shit manufacturers try to sell us, and people keep falling on their trap. Maxx hop units are garbage, absolutly garbage for the prize tag, this one looks better, but still fuking overprized piece of junk there is no way you can justify this amount of money, just buy a Retro Arms unit, less than half the prize, double the quality and triple the performance.
I could even make the stock chamber work flawlessly for a particular build (and thats what I use most of the time nowadays) but getting the bucking lip tension right is important for DSG/HPA setups etc. It may be solvable by experiement with different combinations but I consider it a nice feature being able to adjust it, allowing more choice for buckings.
@@wyz2285 Is there a bucking, that is really good for hpa? I think I tried most of the popular setups, and none of them is perfect. G&G green, maple leaf super macaron, Mr hop, madbull red and blue, modify flat, begadi shp, tnt tr hop, krytac orange, r-hop patches. Also tried different nubs, tdc, hardness etc. Really could use some advice from an experienced tech like you 😅
@@wyz2285 I cannot argue against that mate, i dont do HPA, and for DSG and rare builds i always use the Perun adjustable nozzle, it works extremly well for AEGs, most of the time it is the only reliable choice i can find when working with non Ak/m4 based guns
Curious on your thoughts about the Maxx hop unit that allows GBB buckings for AEGs. Like you I am a fan of the X-Range due to the stabilizer ring. I think the Maxx with an X-Range bucking could also work to slow and stabilize BBS with more aggressive loading builds.
@@wyz2285 Yea I have not seen or heard any reviews on the new Maxx hop yet. GBB buckings in general have a longer loading ramp (which in theory should help slow and stabilize the BB more than traditional AEG bucking lips), but I would expect Maxx to design this limitation in mind. Otherwise, it will be useless.
@@Taseden No matter how they design it, the nozzle won't have travel for it. IMO Maxx just make these to make a quick buck before people realizing it doesn't work in general (which will take a while, it could work with specific bucking in some setups and few people will get lucky and be happy with it)
Wow, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I knew the trick with the flathop in combination with enlarged barrel window and small nub, but I've tried it with hpa, and the results were meh. Wouldn't it be better if I placed the nub as far as possible and not in the middle of the barrel window? I can 3d print trolleys for e.x. maxx hopup unit, so its doable.
@@wyz2285 It didn't work. The vertical spread is too big. Currently Im using maple leaf hot shot hybrid bucking with gbb barrel, and It gives me far superior results. Still not perfect though. I have SI alpha chamber, and honestly, these tensioner rings aren't doing much in my case. Tested it with P* F2 and Kythera (both have the weaker nozzle return spring installed). Given the best results I've got come from GBB barrel, I'm really eager to test MAXX M4G with the Modify X-Range bucking you recommend. I just got the bucking, and Im yet to test it in my pistol
@@nikelski9590 The bucking will work fine in your pistol, but AEG/HPA engine doesn't have the nozzle travel for GBB buckings, I'm skeptical it would work.
@@nikelski9590 It might work with some GBB bucking, but I'm confident it will not be a problem solver. No matter how it's designed, AEG/HPA nozzle simply does not have the travel to allow consistent bb placement. Maxx probably made these just to grab the cash before people realizing it's crap (which will take a while, I can imagine it work with a few specific bucking and setup)
I've been using MAXX for a while and put super glue on the bucking lips to squeeze them in/stiffen them. With HPA this seems a lot more important due to nozzle speed , which is probably why the SI units are so popular among MTW owners
@@wyz2285 having dealt with a number of customer's guns, I sadly have to agree with you. Seeing a barrel somebody cut with a Dremel has made me lose all hope in airsofters lol
So I’m interested in the solink motors with the single direction bearing. But if there’s no arl then what happens when the motor is pulled out? Wouldn’t the gears spin backwards possibly damaging the rear of the piston? Also, if the entire gear train is being held by just the bearing in the motor tower, how much stress can it really take? I can’t see a bearing alone supporting the force of a high power spring like a m160. And if that bearing fails wouldn’t you need to replace the whole motor? Thanks for the advice!
The axis of the motor is the best place to brake as it has the lowest torque/stress applied. You do need to mind to remove the precock before removing the motor or remove the main spring (which is what I do, all my aegs allows me to remove the main spring before having to remove the motor)
@@wyz2285 ah I see. Removing the main spring would certainly solve that problem. Unfortunately not all gearboxes are quick change or quick change enough to remove the main spring without removing the motor first. But even without precocking, most etus cycle detection stops the sector so that it slightly picks up the piston meaning it would always be under some load unless the main spring is removed right?
@@jhqtech I can't think of an AEG (that's worth dropping in a brushless) that needs motor removal, also these motors has built in active brake. Anyway, if you have an old AEG without QD spring, just use their cheapest brushless without the anti-reversal.
@@wyz2285 Krytac are arguably the best AEGs out there. Don't have a quick change from the buffer tube. G&G and VFC also don't have this for like 99% of their guns. The guns with actual QC springs from the buffer are actually pretty shit like Cyma, Specna, Arcturus, etc. So actuslly the good AEGs dont have it
What is the size of the stock SSP5 frame? From pictures it looks like a 4.3? I'm thinking of scratch building an SSP5 but want to still attach the front end to the frame. Either with the stock clamp block or drilling a hole in the aftermarket frame for the bolt. I think one of the best features of this gun is the fixed front end. I noticed some (if not all - minus the stock gun of course) of the builds in this video omit the front locking design.
I've never worked on an EVO, but looking at you doing the bevel the pinion alignment, would it make sense to 3d print a motor cage for that bit? Then you just try to measure how much the motor adjustment screw needs to turn to get the motor in the depth position you shimmed it to while using the cage, when you insert the motor in the pistol grip. I dunno... just something that crossed my mind in the moment. Could probably be also useful for V2 gearboxes, perhaps. MP5 comes to mind. Looking forward to the next one!
@@wyz2285 Yeah the mp5k has a V3 GB and a motorcage, at least my cyma does. But what i meant is printing a motorcage just for shimming the bevel to the motor, since you can probably match the alignment of the motor with that tool you've shown in the beginning, and simply measure how deep the adjustment screw should be turned to ensure the motor inside the grip is at the same height as when you set it in the cage. 3d printing a grip is also a great idea, and could solve a lot of issues
@@wyz2285 I have one more very important question: In order to put the helical pinion gear on the motor, do you have to desolder the electronic speed controller at the bottom of the motor? On Warheads for example this is necessary because the driving shaft can move backwards when pressure is applied and destroy the circuit board. It would make this motor a dream to work with if you could just use a pinion gear puller tool and press the helical pinion on.
Can you make the small pistol version? Just like pcp pistol model from iron pipe.. and what did you use to hold the pressure in the tube? Is it a disc or valve?
I think i have pme tappet issues. Its consistent betwen two joules. 1.5 or 1.33 .1 difference but its randomly 1.3j or 1.5 j. I full full stroke 13/1, with a 30k motor but i use a 7.4 battery
its nice that you've took time out of your own personal time to make it a non proprietary without messing up any of the other things however...... im sorry to say this with copyright laws and etc in place and from what im gonna guess you didn't ask them to do this to their own product, its Germany legal as they have been registered with the germany goverment as they have airsoft gun laws that state they have ot be registered with an F mark and details on what it is and by doing this and not re-registering them its completely illegal in their country and this is something i would have took into consideration before doing this. novritsch company CAN sue you for copyrighting and others as what your doing is taking their product to copy and altering it. in my eyes their nothing that needs changing on the ssp5 as what is their that needs to become no-propriety... slide? but why as it works so well and this company has achieve what other couldn't do with split slides. when doing modification to their products your better off asking first as their is a lot of lawsuits that they can put on you and that will definitely ruin your life, future jobs and your families.
Would this be a good base gun if I plan on upgrading mostly the external parts? I live in Canada and a TM Hicapa basically costs as much as the ICS Challenger. I am thinking of getting a ICS Challenger instead of TM Hicapa as it has more metal parts than a TM Hicapa.
allover the place back and forth kyrtac novritsch, ! mentioned something about scorpio evo and laylax. The title you set for the videp is ssr90, thats what we came here for
imo if u have some tech skills, u can buy some cybergun p90 for less than 150, install a perun etu for p90, reshim gearbox and change compression kit, fit and reshim better gears, and u have a full upgraded p90, for same price as this both options with better trigger and no propietary parts
I own the ssp5. Iv broken sear bridge and one sear already wore its way threw the slide and is rubbing and catching on nozzle towards the back (105-115 psi max hpa I would be shooting 350 fps with .25). Need a new slide after one year of use. But when the gun did work it worked really good not going to lie. And your weighing and comparing the different slides with charging handles on the other brand slides????..........
how the hell does anyone get the outer barrel off? god himself installed mine and i can’t get it off after hitting it with a heat gun and using pliers and putting it in a vise
Sr, can you please tell me why i can't change the lower grip of the SSP5 with the more aggressive pattern of the ssp2? I can't figure out why the ssp2 lower grip dont fit on the SSP5😢
